Same here. Gone from the days of opening my chest freezer and seeing 100kg plus of boilies to now seeing no boilies but 50 peelers vac packed into 5's,  5 packs of English squid, 10 wraps of frozen blacks, 4 packs sandeel,  2 pack mackerel and 4 packs of anchovies.

Not a fan of bluey if I'm honest,  prefer anchovies or sprat.

I've just had to top mine up, squid, blueys, soft shell crab and black lug.

I'm happy with shelf life boilies in my chosen food bait now.

For years it had to be freezer baits, but after catching as many on decent shelfies, I was happy to switch.

As for sea fishing, I do catch a fair few fish on squid and bluey or squid and crab. The thornbacks do like them!

Rigs are all tied and ready on the pb jelly wire, did alright with the the jelly wire previously so it's my first choice, all sitting in the box having a straightener, pretty much ready to go bar the arrival sandwich I take for afternoon lunch on the first day.

Ohh out tomorrow as a proper non smoker, two weeks since giving up the vapes and what an improvement, the hospital consultant said it was vaping that was causing the issue proper not keen on vaping longterm.

Bought a oxygen level monitor hitting all the right numbers on a walk so I doubt I have any serious damage beyond ageing.

Visited a couple mates fishing the river yesterday and seen this, how cool 👌🤣

They can be quite aggressive to other swans and water birds.

Earlier this year I actually filmed swans fighting at Redgrave. I later found the slightly smaller male dead in the rushes.

Today's Thought?

I'd really hoped that growing old would take much longer than this. 😗

Ian.

Oh yes  , I can identify with that , Ian .

Do you ever say to yourself " I used to be able to do this " ? .

And yes, I look at mates playing American football and think I used to do that. I'm also looking at kids coming through that weren't even born when I was playing. One of my mates I used to play with's son is now in the senior team. I retired from playing at 39, and now the kids who were starting then are now retiring.

I am absolutely shattered today, and my right knee and hip are agony.

Yesterday was a busy day, from Ipswich to collect Bruce Lait and take him to the airport at 2.30am. Back home grab a couple of hours sleep and then go collect my son Levi from Basildon and back to Ipswich via Poplar Nursery at Marks Tey for coffee and a doughnut. Definitely a cafe/restaurant worth a visit.

It happens buddy. I went nearly 2 seasons on a large water just catching the odd bream.

Have you got confidence in a. your spots, b. your rigs and c. Bait???

I very gone back to a rig I have every confidence in, check. Bait is good, but always changing pop up colour on the snowman.

So just leaves spot, which is mainly down to watercraft & arguably a bit of luck.

In the past I'd be quick to change everything,  big mistake.

Just small tweaks can make all the difference along with time at the water, you'll unlock the puzzle soon enough.

Oh grief!

I am so wound up. My father is 84, and has dementia so my brother and I split visits with him a few times a week each as he is still independent and living on his own.

Today was my day, and I had to be there from 10am until his normal medication delivery arrived, but immediately after had to go pick up his antibiotics prescription from Boots and do him some shopping, which involved a trip into town.

So one of the 'homeless' trying to 'help' at the car park ticket machine, in other words beg.

This idiot chose to give me verbals in Ipswich town centre, and then decided to try to push me when I refused his assistance as I paid on my card. I put him down and left him tangled up in the post at the car park. Got back to my car and he was taking photos of my car.

He then tried to carry on with the mouth and wanting to fight. I just picked his bike up and moved it and him out of the way.

You can see what happened to his trousers when I left him attached to the post by the waistband

You're already going through enough without this, it's too bad.  I had words with a homeless addict a week ago in front of work at 6am over him leaving trash around the building and he got all worked up and defensive (I thought the boxes he was going through may have come out of someone's car, so was interested).  He left, but left the trash on the sidewalk and moved to a bin across the street and started throwing their trash around and making a mess, so I took his picture. 😀
