  1. Well it seems to be working, the steady flow of spammers seems to have dried up for now
  2. Never got to fish horseshoe and wont now, but i was sort of on track to fish yately, this would of been around the time Terry and the yately crew were just getting started on the complex, but had a massive fall out with local club (portsmouth and district) that made me fall out with angling and coincided with getting a 1st car and err.........realising the fun that could be had with the opposite sex
  3. I also bought a new reel to use with the Sonik 13ft rod an Advanta 4000 size front drag, having my doubts about it, seems really well made but i have 8lb on one spool and 5lb on second and both spools are dropping coils of line time and time over
  4. a friend glugs his boilies in condensed milk and seems to do well on this, i think he has stopped and his catch rate has dropped of
  5. no i bought it as is, no longer have it as due to divorce some time ago i ended up having to sell it on
  6. And my old GS1000HC this was my last bike, had 1100 big bore kit yoshi cams harris 4 into 1 full race pipe
  7. My old CB700 SC California import
  8. Today i got a Sonik 13ft power float road with a 1.5lb tc rating, i have not owned a nice float rod for a long time, have to say its a lovely rod, well made and does indeed have a lot of backbone for larger fish, very pleased with it also it was a good price £40 new delivered
  9. Here is a better bait idea and less risky, less grisly take a kilo of dried hemp seed soak for 24 hours in a large tub of COLD water, bring to boil for about 5 minutes and spod out on fishing spot, the hemp releases natural oils and feeding stimulates to draw carp into location
  10. kind of fishing, i spotted a 60,000ma powerbank on fleabay for little money £16.79 posted and thought, lets try it, good for camping trips and fishing trips to charge mobile and vape also has a light on it
  11. Okay guys other than pellets what bait can i use in pellet bands, these are the hook to nylon with a hair ending in small latex band just putting this out there for idea`s using a power float rod for carp to mid doubles
  12. Something needs to be put in place, the spam is getting pretty bad
  13. back up and working, and a spammer banned lol
  14. I have a fleet of models, but these are mainly 1/10th rc rock crawlers here is my most recent one an FTX Trooper based on a toyota LC71, i have added lots of scale parts, great fun to drive
  15. I cant remember last time i dropped a lead but i fish inline or running lead set up safe because the lead will dump in event of a snap of, but TBH the venue i most fish has no weed or snaggs and the carp only run to max 18-19lb
  16. Quick update on the big brolly, for the price its bloomin ace, goes up in a minute and plenty large enough for me and Mrs H to shelter under and mad bargain price
  17. Not a lot lately for me, but i did get another 2 kilo of NFusion 12mm dairy nut boilies, cheap but i get on well with these and very similar to my 15mm corus Nut cluster, also i scooped a Michigan 88" brolly with side panels to use as a wind break when me and Mrs H go for a day session, dropped a cheeky bid on it before going fishing sunday as it was ending soon winning bid £12.50, this is new end of line, will see what its like next time on the bank
  18. Had a good half day down at Brookfoot lakes Aireys pond today 2 Bream then 3 carp 2 were commons around the 10lb and the nice mirror was a tad over 12lb, i took brew making gear for me and mrs to have a decent brew and my trusty ancient Webtex stove was leaking gas big time stripped it when we got home and now ordered a set of seals so it will give me another 15 years lol
  19. Nice Fish Nick, well in mate, by eck we are both looking old these days
  20. My 1st thought would be to use floater dog biscuits and avoid the deep snaggy lake
  21. Sounds like you have done the right thing, enjoy some nice angling with your lads, it will be quality time spent, i only fish the local club these days, got a few mates on the ponds and usually i really enjoy the sessions, main lake has some good fish but i tend to fish the smaller pond and some lovely fish to about 18lb, good enough for an old codger like me
  22. seems each time i log on the most recent spammers have been dealt with, sadly at times forums just get hit with this rubbish
  23. Went to local lake yesterday just for afternoon managed one carp just an 8lb 40z, lovely scaly mirror, jesus i really am looking like an "old codger" these days
  24. I dont tend to lose gear, though many years ago i left a cheap little unhooking mat at the lake, TBH it was no great loss, only gear i tend to find is little weights and the like
  25. That is same as the club book i fish, but night fishing is allowed however its a long wait to get night book and its an extra £140 for night book, lucky for me i dont really do nights no more and if i want to do 24h i can gust on for £20, yes fishing is getting expensive
