  1. Live view is easy just use rc FPV video transmitter, i have all the gear may give it a try
  2. The camera i use can be linked to a VTX for FPV, at present its just for recording. The hopper is a flipper and dont like ejecting wet particles like corn, a fair bit sticks in the hopper but dry bait like boillies fling out just fine
  3. went on little lake today here is a rod shot pic with Diawa Proteus rod on my single rod pod, this pod is ideal for this lake as all the pegs are platforms and the ground either side of each platform is dam near impossible to get a bank stick in and one rod rule on little lake
  4. first time out with the latest set of new rods, the 10ft 3lb Sonik Hero X paired up with my DAM darkside 6000 mini pit reels, a great set up for me
  5. I did maiden voyage of the bargain bucket bait boat, all i can say it does what it claims to do and for the price its stunning, here is some footage from my on board mini action camera
  6. I will fess up i am buying ready tied choddy rigs as i do struggle to make chod hook links they are sharp and decent knots but i do all my other rigs myself
  7. My super bargain basement bait boat arrived today, super fast delivery and well packaged all works just as it should but already started the mods, as its a flip hopper i have added some elastic to damp the eject also added a runcam 2HD action camera to get video of on lake footage, should get to use it at weekend but for the mega price of £60.34 posted really cant fault it at all
  8. Had a lot of bad luck on little pond today started out with a light carp rod set up and lost a small common to a hook pull, later swapped over to the old cane float rod with mitchell 410a lost 3 carp in a row on stick float fist to a hook pull second lost to knot letting go 3rd the 3lb hooklink parted, re rigged and a blank saver 10lb common, it put up a very lively fight and i was well aware of the 3lb weak link but some skillful playing on a very light clutch and in the net, awful pic of me
  9. I really dont need GPS on a boat to send it out 30 yards or so and drop rig and bait under a tree or the likes, as for battery i will end up using a 2S lipo from the many i have or making a Li-ion 2S battery from a set of 26650 cells i have a lot of choice from my stock of rc gear, TBH if i wanted to be silly i could put a pair of brushless 5200kv motors and have it go like the clappers, but no point, i will be mounting a Runcam Thumb micro camera to the deck for some footage
  10. Well, i have placed an order for the super budget bait boat, been lurking on this for a good while, a mate has been saying dont get the cheap one it wont last but he forgets i build RC projects from drones to planes to rc cars and rock crawlers, i like to think i know a bit about RC stuff so if any thing pops i can fix and upgrade, also i think a boat to carp might look like a duck and just maybe less likely to spook them of
  11. I stayed honest so dont have to look over my shoulder
  12. My Sonik hero x 10ft 3lb rods arrived while i was away, courier dropped them on footpath outside front door at 09.38, in full view of pavement and claims i signed for them but at that time i was 260 miles away from home, lucky my neighbour took them in, i am so tempted to file a non arrival claim but i dont like doing stuff like that, however the rods are very nice
  13. other than the usual stream of end tackle bits and bobs, i plan yet another pair of rods these will be 10ft 3lb torn between sonik Herox or wychwood riot and going to get a budget cheap bait boat, cant order just yet as i will be away for a while and no one to take parcels in
  14. Breaking strain is dependant on water fished and size of carp in such a water, on my local its very snaggy so i use Gardner Hydro tuff in 15lb
  15. I will say my local lake is well fenced, we do have to keep an eye for Badgers digging under and we did have a disgruntled member cut the fence close to the river, but all is good now and we have CCTV and trail cams monitoring the complex
  16. One of the big problems with otters returning is food, originally wild otters preferred freshwater eels, so as eels are rare Otters have turned to carp and maybe pike, fisheries should be able to apply to gov for funding to protect fisheries with decent fencing but the gov are not one bit interested
  17. I fished main lake Sunday and blanked again but i enjoyed every minute and im starting to get liners/false takes, had a few fish cruising over the area i had my baits in, now the weather has improved i dont really care if i catch or not, its just cracking place to be
  18. Well im on the alternative rig, most anglers are like you say ronnie, spinner and slip D, i have gone back to full on Choddy, light lead with lead free leader and blatent pop up , i had a eureka moment and realised the lake is perfect for chod rig, and now im getting the odd take, plus im happy with my bait choice i think its a matter of time before i get a few out of main lake
  19. Setting myself up for a slap here having just got 10ft 3.5lb rods, TBH i was hoping they would be on the soft side of 3.5 but they are not, i wont be keeping them any time but if i do happen to hook a carp it will be played with care, like a few have said its getting hard to get what you really would like unless willing to pay a huge price TBH i have a lovely set of 11ft 2.5lb rods that i was told "too soft" i think i will be going back to these rods
  20. Im in a better place regarding the lake and the blanks, yes every blank session is a learning session, and i have tweaked my tactics and bait, to a point where i am getting odd half hearted takes, maybe nuisance fish but things are improving, thing is at 3 1/2 acres and heavy stock it should be a pretty easy venue, but i do enjoy being at the lake even if i dont catch
  21. My new Rod Hutchinson Sceptre 10ft 3.5lb rods arrived today lovely looking bit of kit but maybe a bit to stiff for my fishing needs, would of been better if they did them in 10ft 3lb option, will just have to see how i get on with them, google image as i have put them away
  22. Thats the good thing about Brookfoot lake birds are not really a problem, got a few Canada geese on the lake and islands at mo but they are just noisy feckers
  23. Thought i should post the pic of the rods prior to breaking the tip of one, BTW had a repky from Wychwood asking me to take broken rod to local dealer for them to send it back and let them see if it was poor workmanship that caused it but i have repaired it so not going back, i have instead ordered a pair of Rod Hutchinson 10ft rods and will sell on the 9ft Wychwoods
  24. Well said mate, good words of wisdom, its odd i used to fish this lake way back and felt i knew the lake but just seems every session is a new learning curve, will stick with it
  25. I am having a bit of an issue with getting new rods, the lake i am fishing is proving to be dam near impossible to catch a carp, been at it since october and so far nothing and spent a small fortune on replacing my gear/new end tackle and so on, but there is the smaller pool on the complex that has plenty of fish and are catchable! Starting to feel like i should just call it a day on big lake and stick to small pool, and stop spending on all this gear, that said the Hutchy Sceptre rods are very well priced, decisions decisions
