Hi Steve hope you’re well .
lm glad you mentioned that as my new rods have cork handles and I never would have thought it otherwise.
more expense it is then 🙄🤣
Hello mate ! Last time we spoke my team had never won the Prem and your lot was relegation fodder !!!!! How times have changed over the last few years matey.
My heart attack knocked me for 6 tbh and I’ve never felt the same since but I went back work I still get out quite a bit fishing so life ain’t too bad, thanks.I had some of the cygnet butt grips and they did start to mark the cork probably more down to me getting too excited on a take and ripping them out 🙄🙄🤣🤣 but as I’ve said I’ve had no problems with the Nash ones they don’t look like they should be as strong as they are but they really do grip the rod and the only way they unlock is when you lift the rod up vertically.

Hello Stevo
Good to see you posting again , I wondered what had happened to you .
😁
Thanks mate. Took a step back from just carp angling although did still do a few sessions 😉 Covid seen us get crazy busy in work a 6wk job turned into 2 years (and plenty of OT) a heart attack 3 years ago and getting an old mate back into the swing of fishing after a 15 years break (how can anyone give up fishing for cage fighting 🙄) but the biggest stumbling block was I’d forgot my details and basically just stopped posting. Would put my post on FB but a link Nick put up on FB seen me have a read and I thought you know I miss .com so thought I’d start posting again. Hope your well, mate.

Did my first overnight of the year last Wednesday on a club lake,it’s been a while since I sat behind the alarms as I’ve spent the winter chasing other species (and bagged a PB to boot)😎
Anyway these two graced my net and the ever faithful maggots doing the damage on this heavily fished boilie and pellet water. Lovely warm day was nippy still through the night tho and the fish was like blocks of ice so happy with the result. Also got to christen my new reels that I got for my 9 fts one fish on each rod so it was pretty much a perfect day

I've read everything available and assume that some stuff has been deleted. Always a shame to lose any member, let alone one with obvious enthusiasm.
Alan and I are fine, mate. Mad busy with the wrought ironwork and disappointed that our trip to Lac du Menhir in July isn't going to happen
Stay safe.
Ian.
Sorry Ian,it wasn’t this thread it was one labelled Coronavirus nooooooo or something and Nick and Ocosha started a debait that in my judgement seen nick get the hump and lock it for no reason........ and that was the end of Ocosha 🙁🙄

Only just encountered this thread and know absolutely nothing about it. I must pay more attention!
Ian.
Read back it’s about a thread being locked it was Nick P00 P00ing about covid 19 and how it wasn’t that much of a big deal........ 41,000 deaths later I’d say it was but unfortunately we lost a long term serial poster due to it. 🤔🙁
Hope you and Alan are well, mate.

Mosquitoes mate
The lance (bitey thing) is called a proboscis
A tiny animal with virtually no physical power (compared to us, and our skin toughness) can pierce our skin relatively easily, because the minimal power being applied is via an extremely thin instrument
It doesn't matter how sharp the point is, they wouldn't be able to push a thicker proboscis in deeply enough
Again a very good answer, but you could also debate that when something is thinner(streamlined) then in turn it could be easier to eject.

There's a bit more to it than that..
Would you care to explain, this is after all a friendly, learning forum.

Just a follow on to the thread doing the rounds atm about lines. As the thread says what line and why are you on said line. I’ve used sensor for years and it’s never let me down so I’m a ‘if it’s not broke why fix it’ type of bloke.
My Fluoro is X-Line and as above used it for years and happy with it so never seen the need to change/try another. 😬- crusian, salokcinnodrog and yonny

Looks very interesting is the suction part been slowed down ? As fast as it in it’s out with fish rejecting baits. A Chod hook looks like it would go searching for a hook hold in this rig. And you could get away with using a BIG hook by the looks of it. Thanks for sharing 😬😎

I haven’t got a pic of my bivvy as I’ll be honest I only use it for socials or winter overnighters I’m more of a brolly guy. In fact I treated myself last wk to the JRC Extreme last wk so it’s only had a quick pegging out back after work last wk. 80% of my nights are just a brolly nowt else and my old stealth brolly still gets an airing if it’s going to be blowy !

Sonik do some decent entry gear so I wouldn’t discount having a look at some of their gear. 12ft 3lb TC rods could see you tackle most waters in the U.K. should you wish to start travelling to other waters/day tickets with bigger fish in.
Welcome aboard mate 😬😎🎣
