  1. Tbf I got my groundhog brolly last year on a 4hr deal off AD for £75 2 days before Black Friday. Still can’t get it anywhere under £100 and it’s been a cracking bit of kit mega light, sturdy enough and my stealth hasn’t seen light of day this season due to it 🙄😂😂😬

  2. Can’t help you with venues but I can help with your set up. As the lads have said line is far too heavy 8lb would be fine. Small method feeders (not elasticated ones) with a 4/5lb hook length will see you able to land fish into double figures quite easily especially this time of year. I’d use corn/pellet/maggot this time of year on anything from a 16 to a 10 hook depending on venue. A commercial with a decent head of fish should be your choice and look to try and target any islands or deeper margins or Reed areas. Try to keep the feed to a minimum and don’t be afraid to have a cast around until you find the fish. Try to use your line clip if your not comfortable casting to islands but I would advise against it if the fish are double figure size. This time of year fishing for bites is your best bet some of by biggest winter carp hauls was feeder fishing for bites on 16 hook and two dead red maggots.

welcome to .com and good luck 😬😎🎣

  3. Agree with Yonny but one thing I would add is watch the weather like a hawk. Even the smallest spikes can be a window of opportunity and on my winter water between 11:00-15:00 is always good when the winter weather is a bit milder. I’d also add that at least one of my rods would be on a zig,if allowed on your water. Good luck work hard at it and hopefully you’ll have a few. 😬😎🎣

I'm no expert, from personal experience it can be hard to relate, explain or burden, loved ones with your inner feelings.

Yet a perfect stranger, that has no misgivings is a different matter & can be the desired tonic.

I'm sure it wasn't personal stevo.

Good for you ouchthathurt! Top man.

Thanks mate,I tried him with councillors and doctors but he seen opening up as a sign of weakness,so he kept it all in. 😕

  6. Well done. You water sounds very similar to mine a very windswept barren middle of nowhere sheep ridden place ......... I’ve seen the best of kit get smashed down there on stormy days tho my jrc stealth brolly is still the only gear I’d trust on my water in real bad conditions.

Nice fish and I also notice you’ve got wind turbines, just like my place  ......... I’ll be looking out for zombie sheep on my next session down the Marshes. 😱😱😂😂😬

  7. That was my brothers downfall....... he just wouldn’t open up about his mental problems to anybody and the more I tried to talk to him about his state of mind the further away he would be ..... it was one step forward two steps back with my bro, unfortunately. Well done on turning your life around, mate. 😬😎

Lost my parents years ago... my Dad in 2011 & my Mum went a few years back on 31st Nov so we are coming up to the anniversary of her passing... its always a hard time, doesn't matter how tough you think you are, but the passing of a loved one is a hard thing to face up to.... especially Fathers.... as young lads we always think our Dads are tough, invincible, superheroes, who can shrug off anything and come back for more... it kinda stays with us, he fought cancer bravely and with dignity, until that fateful day....

When I lost my parents I was lucky, with a loving, supportive wife and family and a hobby I could immerse myself into, things were hard, but I got on with it and got through it relatively well... some don't fare so well...

Yonny and Emmcee and Snowmanstevo, my deepest condolences... take care lads, if you need to talk just drop me a PM

Time and fishing is a great healer, mate.

  9. Yonny,Emmcee please except my condolences, never nice loosing a family member. I was 32 when cancer took my Dad I was lucky that I could spend his last few months with him. My life was a complete mess leading up to it so perversely losing my auld fella was also the start of a new life for me. My mum was housebound and totally reliant on my dad and I did some growing up real fast and made me a lot better person.
My mother died 2015 and that was a blessing as she had been ill for a long long time. In 2016 my brother who had been troubled for a good few years due to a marriage breakdown hung himself,he was my older brother,my only family member as there was only me,dad, mum and Mike. I was so angry at him for doing what he did and was also racked with guilt as he’d been staying with us for the 6 wks prior to his suicide and I thought I’d helped him out of his hole but obviously not. We was close,my kids adohored him and seeing the upset of my children cut me in two. It’s safe to say it took me 18months to get over Mike the guilt will NEVER go away and without the help of my wife and the love of my children I don’t know where I’d be,it took me a long time to realise the courage it took Mike to end his life but time is a great healer and for the past few years I’ve been at peace with myself. 7 weeks ago I had a massive heart attack,I’m only 50 and have a 12 year old boy and 17 year old daughter and my heart attack really has put my life into perspective, again a life changing moment for me. I’m so glad that the forum is a help Grim up North but do me a favour, mate,if your ever struggling never do it in silence, mate, msg me anytime you want bud or talk to a friend or a councillor but NEVER suffer in silence. As most know I’m a massive Liverpool fan and as the song goes “ You’ll Never Walk Alone” x

They seem to have gone back on the deal mate.

And even if they let us we have already cut out the places that we are able to.

Would need a digger and a lot of hard work to make swims anywhere else where it is so overgrown.

It's hard enough in the summer so reckon it's just a waste of time in the winter.

Just gonna keep priming spots for next year.

Try and keep that bait going in mate, they could just be elsewhere on a natural bloom where you can’t fish. If they do come back you’ve got a chance mate 😬😎🎣
