I dont understand why that is? Surely a barbed hook should have more damage to a fishes mouth than spring loaded rig??? This element which apparently sets the hook nicely, would be better than damage that may be caused when the fish try to eject a standard rig? I'll try it on 1 rod until I'm told I can't.. Ali appeared genuine about this bit of kit, from what I could tell. Don't know him from Adam, but from the underwater footage, it would appear to be a game changer imo. Quote
ouchthathurt Posted August 9, 2023 Report Posted August 9, 2023 My worry would be those plastic arms that sit proud of the magic twigs body once the device is activated, it then looks like a tiny weed rake. I can see them getting tangled in the mesh of the landing net and causing mouth damage. kevtaylor and elmoputney 2 Quote
Carpbell3 Posted August 9, 2023 Report Posted August 9, 2023 Definitely work in progress I think it is suited to a runs water and match angling bit like the method feeder , either way I'm in a right strop just lost 500 notes in a court case really am tempted to take it to the high court for a legal ruling or just cut my loses, I'm about ready to go beat the stinky winky out of the law firm I'm in conflict with. Got my chores done so I'm off in the morning. Quote

What difference is there from Steve Renyard's Bungy Boom that's been around forever, does the same thing - yet it resets and wouldn't snag on things? There have been other designs and all have been banned for whatever reason. The twig looks to be a snagging point for weed, snags and the net. I bet he's crying more now than when he thought it was going to be the one. But it's not! I saw one of the Nash lads tying elastic to the bottom end of a zig line, so it's hardly a new idea, and the guys original design was exactly the same -a bit of elastic tied into the rig, supported by proper braid for when the elastic snaps. To say it's a disappointment after hearing all the hype is an understatement! commonly and chillfactor 2 Quote

... Posted August 10, 2023 Report Posted August 10, 2023 I'm literally stripping back gear now.... Bought a Nash Scope Ops 10ft Transporter for my 3 rod 10ft xtractor setup, and hopefully a Nash Scope Ruckbag on its way. (NOT ALLOWED TO UPLOAD PHOTOS FOR SOME REASON) What reels would be better for 10ft Rods....Do I stick with my Daiwa Crosscast 45 5000 reels, or do I get some Ultegra 5500 ?? Quote
