elmoputney
Had a little firework display In the garden tonight, I thought the kids have missed enough this year, was strange being a responsible adult in charge of fireworks, but the kids loved it, We have a little path to the woods behind our house just after I let the first rocket off, I heard a JEEESUUUUS CHRIST 😂😁 I didn't think anyone was there must have scared the stinky winky out of the poor guy 😳 finchey, Carpmaster and B B
B B
We used to have 2 firework party’s one for the little kids and one for the big kids. On our big kids party you had to bring a firework bigger the better. We always had a good drink. Anyway I got hold of a huge rocket and was in the running for the best firework till my mate sheepish said can I borrow a shovel and disappeared to the top of the garden giggling. At 12 O’clock he got us all up and we staggered out to the garden best stand back he says giggling again....Well it was must have been like the blitz all hell broke loose everyone was all running around like headless chicken trying to fine cover and not drop there drinks one of the boys done a spectacular leap and tried to clear a 6 foot fence missed his footing went smack into it I can remember the mrs trying frantically to get into the shed that was locked seemed like time stood still. O happy days 😂 The following day I went to the top of the garden for a tidy up and found my mates firework double the size of a biscuit tin it was. I read the instructions and in big Capital letters read display model stand back 50 metres 🙄 elmoputney, commonly and Carpmaster 1
elmoputney
We used to have massive bonfire parties when we were younger my mate had a big garden we used to collect stuff to burn for weeks, they were brilliant fun loads of booze loads of fireworks, loads of fun, and that's why I still don't think I should be allowed to be a responsible adult with fireworks 😁 Carpmaster

Carpbell_ll
Oh not all bad, just back from my MOT on the new motor, not even an advisory, i can still pick em. just shows how much of a rip off those tyre and brake places are, when i was in there a few weeks back one of the lads tried to sell me two tyres as two of mine wouldn't pass a MOT, he got the look, i would never go near one of those places for a MOT it's just asking for it. Due the next 20.000 service interval soon might treat it to a trip to the KIA dealer keep the service manual up to date with KIA stamps. First car i ever bought a banged up escort burnt me on it's first MOT i learnt a lot that day.

Why people let the jobs come up and advisories build up on the MOT history is just silly insurance companies now use the online MOT history to price both quotes and pay outs. Some poor bloke in the garage had the same car as mine but the 1.6 petrol ouch he was in for a new clutch those cars a way too heavy for a 1.6 engine. Carpbell_ll
Going by the amount of anglers on the bank this weekend I'd say this year will be busy on the lakes, think the chances of anything out of a midlands water this week or so will be rare, that air is cold plus the river floods that are up. framey
Got up to go out this morning got there and walked around to see what was about but the rivers flooded into the lakes so screwed that one up back home by 10.30 try a different lake tomorrow that should be good will no doubt be high but at least there’s no river feeding it lol Carpbell_ll
Carpmaster
Well I went up the park lake at 4 this morning back home 12-30 lakes closed to angling yet the kids play park is open this I really can’t get my head around how is a single guy in a bivvy more than 4 meters from anyone unless they come to me not able to fish
Carpbell_ll
Hate being poor lol, how would a Go Fund Me page go down to raise three grand by early April? Hippy shark tooth fossil hunt meet up at Ant Hill CA two weeks of digging around a old sea bed fossil hunting, the shark teeth are really nice from that area due to the amount of minerals in the stone

ouchthathurt
I wish it were that simple mate! I’ve got to render the back of the house, the bitumen paint is for the bay window roof and the kitchen roof (an extension) needs to be completely stripped and the felt replaced... then it’s repaint the exterior front and back, then redecorate the entire interior which has just been replastered throughout. I’ve done a new kitchen and bathroom so it’s bringing it all together now. lockdown has a lot to answer for!! 🙄 elmoputney, Carpmaster, B B and 2 others

ouchthathurt
Thanks pal, a very important point! Many people don’t! Fortunately I have several bags of sand from knocking up sand/cement mixes to build a wall/repairing masonry work so I’ve been using them to secure the ladder. My dad fell off a ladder while on a roof years ago and badly injured himself plus going to ladder related accidents in my work on ambulances has highlighted the risks so I’ve always been wary of ladders! it’s ironic that he was a firefighter, you would have thought he’d be good on ladders!
