I think the cog lead is good in theory, but I'd go for in-line drop-off instead coz they are still picking up the lead heavy end first and you don't have any extra parts attached that wouldn't be necessary.2 points

Mine is also a wide one 7.5kgs though doesn't have the luxury of memory foam or anything but it is comfy and gives my back decent support1 point -

Opportunist Angling
salokcinnodrog reacted to B B for a topic
Opportunist Angling I was on a 48 hr in November last year for a trip to Linear fisheries and decided to fish Brasenose one a Gravel pit of 32 acres. It was cold with bright sun so out went the zigs but with no joy. The lake was fishing hard and there was no action for me. On the last day I noticed a Grebe having more luck with what appeared to be nice Roach 3 rod lengths out from my swim so I wound in one of my carp rods set a feeder rod up with a maggot feeder 14 hook with 3 maggots on the hook. Now prior to this trip my biggest roach was just under a pound. I cast out with 2 pouches of maggots over the top. I put the rod down and the tip went round with a Roach of 2lb 3oz ! Nx cast tip went round 2lb 7 oz !! This is easy I thought with my hands shaking. Nx cast I bumped a fish and the swim went dead so i reeled in had a coffee putting out a pouch of maggots every 5mins. 30 mins later I had the biggest at 2lb 9oz and it was my last. I was in shock how fast it happened and still am. With A couple hours before we packed up I had a low 20 Common Linear has been kind to me of late with 5 pbβs in 3 trips1 point -

Also its 35 acres (measured on two area calculator tools) not the 67 acres as stated on the facebook page. How he's almost doubled the surface area of the lake I do not know.1 point

Luckily I won the toss picked that swim. The swans made it difficult with there long necks but tight up against the island I found slightly deeper water and had 2 low twentyβs from there very pretty fish had them on cell.. We blanked the second visit. The owner is a carper he designed and dug it. Shrubs are planted all round the lakes lovely place in the summer. They had dug a new lake when we fished it and were waiting for it to filll up. Sorry went on a bit π Highly recommended1 point -
Rod licence issue
yonny reacted to Old school for a topic
I did the same thing, just bit the bullet and bought the 3 rod one though.. You know it makes sense π1 point -
Yeah I guess if nothing constructive comes back from the complaint then I might stick out the next 6 months on my current licence and then upgrade going forward. No point throwing money away and fair point too that not all swims will be appropriate for 3 rods1 point

atmospheric pressure
yonny reacted to elmoputney for a topic
It was a new moon last night and the lake was fishing its head off, 3 for one guy, 3 for another including the big girl at 41lb, one of the kois came out and even I caught one π Pressure has been dropping steadily but I can't help but be drawn by moon phases, I try and fish whenever I can but I will pester Mrs Putney more if it happens to be a new moon, I haven't made any decision on pressure yet but I do like a new moon π1 point -

That dodgy quick change clip aint part of the Korda cog kit, makes me wonder if they've bodged it all together out of random bits. Maybe the swivel barrel that fits the lead is different too, which might explain why it's not released the lead. All what? If used correctly there's nowt wrong with tubing and a lead clip imo, cog or otherwise.1 point
