Can honestly say I have never forgot a receiver as itβs in the same bag with my alarms bank sticks buzz bars bait and tackle even my bait bucket lol however I did almost leave a brand new set of alarms on a jag pod all set up at the bank once3 points

Why.....????? there's always the option of watching your bobbins.... which, I might add.... is how it was done before alarms were invented....π hub-cap underneath the reel with a penny on the spool...? See... old school still works...π€£3 points

Its not an arguement I dont care what alarms people choose. An alarm with no speakers just seems silly to me, when guys are travelling 2-3 hours to get to the syndi they seem perplexed when they haven't bought their receiver and have to go home. Just an observation π2 points -
I don't get you point at all mateπ€£ So your point is Delks are too expensive? End of the day you can pick up a none-remote alarm for a tenner, or you can go for the top shelf Delks at 60. If you want remote you can get cheapo alarms or you can get Delks at 135 a pop. It's the same with all the top end alarms - Fox, Nash, Nevs, etc etc. You can always go budget - JRC, Prologic, Wychwood etc. No one is forced to buy top end stuff.2 points

After our initial work getting rid of existing fence lines & hedges that needed to go . It's just been to wet to get the big machines on the ground to do any major work. What did become clear when we were there is that we needed another section of land heading up the hill on the right hand boundry. There is a natural hump about 25 metres further up the hill which if incorporated would be the bank level on that side..... this would mean a lot less digging for 3/4 ers of the lake & really where the lake needs to naturally sit . Luckily the deals been done in principle , my colleague & mate just needs to do the deal on the price ! . Really good news though π2 points -
Well surely it will only take a couple of minutes to make your lady pregnant , then your work is done , and off you go fishing ? . π2 points

I'm no camera buff tbh and never had a Nikon but it should be perfect for self takes and general photos I would think, is it an 18-55 lens? That's what it seemed to come with when I googled it, that's what I have on mine, just have a play I am sure you will find you are taking decent enough shots, I got a remote for mine to begin with but holding a fish and using a remote isn't easy, just get a cheap and camera compatible intervalometer usually on amazon for about Β£12, I also have an amazon basics tripod, which is good for the money, and a video light (mine is a 96 led one) also off amazon and that should be enough to get you going, just try taking lots of photos to start with you only need one good one and you can always delete them with a digital π1 point -

To be honest the Gardner Dongle system has bee used on hundreds of entry/mid level Delkims that don't have receiver tech already fitted and to buy the dongles and receiver still works out cheaper than a full set of TXi's and receiver... so if mt ATTs alarmsxwent pear chaped tomorrow I'd either buy another ATTs alarm or Delkim D's and a pair of dongles and still have a good pair of remote alarms1 point -
Forgetting my receiver is a moot point as it lives in the bag with the alarms... dunno why it was brought up tell the truth... most folks keep their alarm stuff together... its common sense If you don't...... well I you need to rethink the way you pack your gear....π€£ As for the ATTs not having speakers.... I tend not to irritate other folks on the banks setting my alarms because they are on vibro only and no-one can hear them... unlike mallet man and his foxes on full volume tinkering with the things every 5 minutes for something to do... for me it was one of the reasons I went with the Gardner offerings... and If I ever go over to the Delkim EV-D's then I'd use the Dongles and the gardner receiver to keep the alarms silent... ( if thats possible)1 point

So it is just about the money then π€£ππ Delkim do not want to be known as the best selling mid-priced range of alarms. They are top shelf, big ticket, and you pay for it. That's their business model, their intended image within the market. They have never had a budget/mid-price model - just a pricey remote model and a pricey none-remote model. If we want cheaper remote alarms Delkim are the not where we will find them. I would add - imo it would be commercial suicide for them to bring out a mid range remote alarm with the vibro/stylus technology. They'd never sell another TXI again.1 point

I bet there is only 1 circuit board in the delkim range and all they need to do is solder the transmitter onto it lol if not then that is a big mistake lol1 point -
You'd have thought they would have started at that point hey. Forget the remote and have to pack up and go home - which I've seen someone have to do - stupid idea IMO1 point

and add Β£147 for the receiver....!!!! That's a mighty large markup for a couple of pence worth of circuitry and solder... but then whenever has a high end tackle firm not taken the chance to make a buck....?? and as you say... it is a business.... Edited just now by bluelabel Oh dear , as with all things the final retail price is far from the cost of parts , good luck to any one with the balls to start a business ! Hey if I was in their shoes I'd be doing the same thing....π€ difference is, I'm on the other end of the line (literally) we all moan about the cost aspect at some point or another, whether its yer ticket, rods, bait, alarms, or whatever... it doesn't stop us wanting things a bit cheaper does it...?π€£π1 point

Which is my point it seems a bit of a con,I don't think it has to be that expensive most cheaper alarms have remote capabilities these days, why can't Delks?1 point -

except ATTs... you have to have a receiver as there's no speaker in the head... that said, they do other alarms with the speakers so bit of a moot point1 point

The ev-d is aimed at the customer who doesn't want a receiver , Blue has the Att receiver so it makes sense to buy the dongles .1 point

used trent baits for years and only stopped last year because I wanted to tailor my bait to my personal fishing. tbh I never used the fresh water shrimp but their liver specials are without a doubt the best boilies ive used (apart from the ones im now making myself) but ive modelled my own bait recipe on the liver specials.1 point

I am sure that is most people nowadays though isn't it? I don't want to argue about thisπ, but that's my opinion, maybe if I tried the EV range I would never look at another brand and end up buying some TXi's but I quite like being able to turn my alarms down like bluelabel and just using the receiver at night , I would Also probably think a little differently if I already owned the dongles and receiver, I sold my fox alarms for this very reason tbh Maybe I am missing the point a little but to me I think I should be able to to buy a remote receiver for any alarm I want these days0 points -

I've been reckless lately I left my retro baits invoice out "Β£90 on boilies she said" I said well I did buy quite a lot so they will last, all the time thinking she hasn't noticed the pop ups, wafters bait spray and 2kg of 12mmers π She also saw my receipt from yesterday I said a lot of that was the kids rods and bits π0 points
