  1. I'm from good old ilson so am localish to you Loads of club waters to cut your teeth on round there, pride of derby is probably closest to you or derby railway a.c Earl of Harrington has loads of waters around derby. N.c.b area5 is the only club water I've fished and has a few waters around ilkeston and heanor.

  3. dont use a delivery company (DPD) that leaves your parcels on the door step looking like this. this is an order i had delivered from british aqua feeds last week.
  4. Midlands is a big place, are you east or west or don't you mind traveling ? If you need any info on clubs for the trent around the Nottingham area let me know.
  5. earlier this year after having had my barrow out for the first time in 3 years id forgotten how hard it was to shove that thing 400 yards round a lake so im looking into getting my barrow converted into electric. so far ive found roy Charles and tsm baits who make motorised back wheels. has anybody got any info on the above in the way of quality ,price and time from order to delivery or alternative companies.

  7. Exactly how I approached a small low stocked water about 10 years ago even tho all the advice was they don't respond to particle or spodding. Used sweetcorn hemp and wild bird seed (the 1 with aniseed in) and stodged it up with some betane green gound bait, also like to blend a little up really fine to add a bit of a scent trail. Used a KD rig with 1 piece of maize and a piece of pop up maize and did really well.
  8. Bit of a double take moment lol I had 1 of those when I spotted what I thought was a bream in formation with a shoal of barbel in fast shallow water and on closer inspection I realized I was right first time and it was a bream
  9. if the water was that clear how on earth did you mistake a carp for a chub ?
  10. why not just replace the elastic with rope, im a big lad (6'4" and 18 stone) and wouldn't trust cable ties. but tbh I can pull my elastic tight enough to create a bed with very little sag.
  11. I personally haven't use a keepnet for over 20 years and probably never will again I don't think you should put any fish in a keepnet that can't turn around in it.
  12. the tinterweb (what my mum calls it) is the greatest source of knowledge known to man firstly id pick a venue to learn on, somewhere not to big (10 acres max) as you probably don't want to be casting 120 yards on your first time out and with plenty of fish(I picked a hard water to learn on and trust me its not nice going home without having caught anything on your first 5 or 6 trips) , then ask the local tackle shop for info on the lake so if you find out its mainly silt on the bottom you've got a starting point for research, that way you don't have to learn every conceivable method of carp fishing and can keep it simple. secondly is get a marker rod and learn to use it properly, there are thousands of tutorials online (youtube like dayvid mentioned)
  13. yonny have you found their baits break up easier when using the throwing stick at distances over 70 yards. in 2018 I had no problems reaching a certain swim at 70ish yards but last year the majority of baits broke up mid flight which is the main reason I went over to rolling my own. I was using the liver specials and wondered if they made a base mix change during that time.
  14. gonna use my 6 foot landing net pole to whack anyone who comes within swinging range (good way to enforce social distancing)
