jh92 Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 Not gonna catch them at home lol, done a lap of the lake and haven't seen anything so jumped in the swim I know the layout of, I'm fishing into an open spot of 6ft -7ft of water, a little bit of silt with weed surrounding it👍 I'm getting a nice donk with the leads so baits should be presented nicely 👍 yonny, jules007 and elmoputney 3 Quote

Bd lucky Expand Yeah mate they don't seem to be as bad on this lake, I've had a few coots pick up the odd boilie but ain't being done by them yet. I've just had a tench about 3 - 4lb so atleast there's something grubbing around there, hopefully the carp ain't far behind 👍 jules007, commonly and elmoputney 3 Quote

jh92 Posted March 23 Report Posted March 23 Moved 4 times today, first spot on the 9 acre lake got done by the birds so moved further down, so I've set up found a clear spot, some guy has set up opposite me so had to move as I was fishing into his water. The 3rd swim I got to didn't last long as I was getting the rods out and started moving my kit I started to find ticks on my rod sleeves and quiver? No idea where they came from but it spun me out so moved down to the 4 acre lake, I'm quite happy with the spot I'm in as it's the one I've been recently fishing. There's a lot of fizzing going on over the spot I baited previously and there's a few fish showing in this bay so I've stuck 3 singles out over the spot, if it doesn't produce tonight I'll put some more bait out but for now I just want to keep the disturbance to a minimum lol. What a day, feels good to have a beer 🤣 yonny, crusian, B B and 2 others 5 Quote

Me and my mate were chilling having had a couple when the most intense rain arrived. We were bivvied up maybe 15 yards back from the water and in the space of an hour the water had come up so much it reached the bivvies. We had to pull everything out of the ground and dump it in the van to get out. Very nearly got flooded in. It was crazy. Sorry to hear you've had problems. Don't let it ruin your session. Expand Well mate it goes like this…. We turn up to our pre booked swim that the bailiff had placed a stake with a laminated note saying the swim had been booked for the 48hrs, this was way in advance I believe 4 days, and theirs two guys fishing in there 🙄 looked for the sign and couldn’t find it. we drove to the office had a word with Chris the fishery manager and he said he made the sign and a bailiff said he seen it there on the Wednesday. Chris apologised and sorted a swim out on the Tar Farm set of lakes and said we just had to pay for the one ticket….. And we blanked 😏 Haven’t heard anything today from Linnar so il send a email off tomorrow to see if they got to the bottom of it, we were thinking next time we go il phone the head bailiff the day before to make sure there’s a sign up. Some might think we got to fish and for half price so it wasn’t to bad …but a 30llb plus fish is on my mates bucket list and oxlease is the best bet to get it. The organising he’s got to do to get away for the 48hrs you wouldn’t believe and I won’t go into his personal problems here. crusian, yonny and elmoputney 1 2 Quote

To me it looks like one rod is a darker cane than the other , and the reel fittings are different . 🙄 Quote
bluelabel Posted 6 hours ago Author Report Posted 6 hours ago One is an impregnated rod t'other isn't, the darker rod is how a sharpe should look with the screw down reel fitting, I had the pale rods's reel fitting removed as it had seized up. In not too precious about matching everything, that ship sailed long ago... life's too short to worry about that sort of thing any more...👍😉 Roughtor and jules007 2 Quote
