I was always a bit heavy handed or is it heavy fingered? with the green tool no wonder the manufacture give us 3 in the pack. Warming the kickers makes them slide over the tool easier. I use the thinking anglers zig gear 👍

Just spent £3.63 on on a band xpander off ebay. I think it will be useful. I spent a bit of time looking at the different zig bits and just liked the look of the thinking anglers ones, and being served by Oz was a treat, he picked me the best ones 👍

All hale the great Oz, I enjoy his articles. 👍

If you haven’t noticed, and apologies if you have, there’s a extra small hole on the kicker that’s where I thread 4lb line to tie maggots to…In the past using maggots I’m  covered them in a watered down solution of pineapple goo they take on the liquid inside and out…not sure it helps but it was different 🤔

No i hadn't noticed, thanks for the tip. I will have a look into that, my zig knowledge is pretty basic I've buried my head in the sand til now really, but I'm starting to see that I've been missing out, so I've bitten the bullet and I'm going to have a good go. 👍

Have you read his book, Forces of Nature? If not, go and get it immediately (😁). It's right up there with Tel's books imo. Really, really good.

Half a slice wrapped around the hook used to work on Bromeswell.

The Nash Bolt Machine controller used to be the best controller for that. In fact I do like those floats.

Please can somebody bring round paracetamol and ibuprofen, I have developed a headache for recommending a Nash Tackle item...😲😆😱

Keen to hear how you get on. I've got a fair bit of zig stuff Inc zig bugs, spiders, snail zig aligners, loads different colours foams but struggled with it tangling after the cast so I knocked it in the head after 2 sessions.

I've bought some lead clips with a little tag on them to PVA the zig onto to hopefully eliminate the tangle issue.

Might try have another go come spring

You want your mainline straight through to a lead clip/tail rubber (i.e. no tubing), with the longest anti-tangle sleeve you can find. Smooth cast and the tangles will disappear.

Quoting myself for an update, i have found cheap Tesco sliced white bread, crust cut of and the slice lightly flattened indeed rolls very nicely to be able to hair rig with a pellet band, yet to try it at the lake but this may give me an edge for carp that only ever see boilie

Have you tested in water to see how long it lasts?

Also you need to factor in nuisance fish, they would destroy bread in seconds.

With bread you throw it into an area that you can see them in, its not a bait and wait tactic.

its a bait and hold on tactic lol

I always used to use mother’s pride but not seen that in years so changed to warburtons.

luncheon meat was always happy shopper lol as it used to have more fat in it.

could always catch crucians on a size 6 hook and 10lb line using happy shopper..

Thanks, I have used bread before lol, thats why I know it doesn't last that long. I used to make my own bread and sweetcorn groundbait. Chuck it all in the blender then hey presto, I used to take it in the big ice cream tubs.
