  1. That is an issue with technique mate. It is not possible to cast further with a 10 than it is a 12 ft rod bud. The blank simply cannot be compressed with the same load.

The secret lake I am trying to find out had one really annoying rule, You are not allowed to pass the owners phone number on ๐Ÿ˜–

  4. For a small percentage of anglers it's because they fish small water with tight swims. For others it's to save weight/space and to support the mobile angling approach. For most it's a fashion statement imo. Sacrificing casting distance to sport the latest must-have kit. I will always use 12 ft rods, they allow me to do everything.

I read all the rules then decide if I feel it is being run in a manor that I would like to fish . If I feel its just greed or ignorance ill walk away

I was put off by having to book night sessions on a club water , quite often the Chance only arises for me after loads of begging and being a super husband so that I can nip out for a quick overnight session,I haven't got time to ask a bailiff for permission as well as the missus ๐Ÿ˜€

The reason I dropped my ticket for a lake I was was new idiotic management rules. Having to book in 24hrs in advance for night fishing. Only fishing from the platforms, which are made from the plastic stuff so you cant even use a drill for stage stands There were a few other things too, it isnt run by anglers though and the estate have no clue apart from what some noddy anglers have told them in the past. Put me right off, but the lads that did stay on have said everyone just flaunts the rules anyway and nothing happens apart from if you litter. The whole booking thing is not for me. Neither are hook size rules or barbless rules, or lead size rules. Just plain daft.

Same here ,although one syndicate I was on we used to have to phone the guy to let him know we where going , that was more so he could monitor the water . You need freedom to move around ,you could maybe ask the reason why it could be that they have had issues with litter or trouble makers .

Anywhere you have to book is a no-no for me. I am an angler, I like to find fish and angle for them.

  12. If your rods worked 10 years agao they will still work now , stick with what you know and have to start with . Carp fishing has its fashions .

When looking at a water you fancy visiting is there anything about the way they are run or rules on bait tackle or angling style that puts you off? Nice little water close to me i would like to fish but you have to be a member to fish there that's ok in itself but they also want you to text them and let them know what peg you are in, not that i move pegs much once set up but it's nice to have the option to move freely around the lake without having to send a text message every time.

Put your eggs and flavours in a blender , then grate the amount you want in your mix and blitz. Simple.

This reminiscent of the silly/stupid rules thread. Not sure if it's still on here due to deano Baggio (troll) having quite a lot of input

    how many beeps?

They might be more violent line bites because the bobbins are designed to light and sensitive, I use cygnets that seem similar lightweight types and prefer the extra indication you get from them too much is better than not enough in my opinion

    how many beeps?

What sort of bobbins are you using ? Are you fishing a tight line ? I tend to find small violent ones are line bites or nuisance fish or birds ,but I fish a semi slack line at that sort of distance and the bobbin would usually return to the same place with a liner That said I was getting 1 beep takes the other night I knew were fish as the rod tip quivered and the bobbin was pulled tight, poor little 8lb bream couldn't be bothered to move the lead

If you're not connecting then yes, wait; see if you can figure out what's doing it. You need to recast, how else would you know you're presented?

  24. This. is the deal breaker for me , The Boilies Only boilies & pellets supplied by the venue are allowed as feed, you may bring a max of strictly 2kg per angler of your own fresh / frozen hookbaits. Then for them to mug you off on their boilies at 10 euro a kilo
