Maybe your OP was plagued with predicted text and just twisted my melon Expand Always liked the lakes in question the owner is very private with them so I don't name his lakes, very popular massive waiting list, just outside Wellingborough. I was surprised the other week a big name angler tried for membership, got turned down permanently that's how non publicity the place is. The angler that got the recent ban was using a drone, and pictures ended up online the drone would get you banned from any lake? I could name the lakes and owner but that wouldn't be overstepping the mark a bit. Quote

Expand Drones are tempting especially if you fish a quiet water, but to use one just because you think the lake owner isn't on site is a bit adventurous. He is there most days doing improvements, the landscaping on those lakes is very well laid out in the summer the place looks amazing really is a hot spot for adders as well. Quote
Carpbell3 Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Don't know who's making these pictures that pop up on FB but I find them hilarious 😂 simple things and that. The write up for the bonny blue one good, she is opening a venue in Northampton 🤜 jh92, salokcinnodrog and commonly 2 1 Quote
Carpbell3 Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 Still no fishing to report been busy with the cooling system on the wagon rust treated the pipe work ready for a coat of epoxy resin, I could cut the pipe work out and bypass the rear heating that is feed by the coolant but I hate doing that. Also rust treated the chassis hit it all with some chassis sealant when done, should sort it, Kia really are the Asian Ford, the car is solid underneath all but one pipe system due to using cheap paint on the pipe, bet kia buy it in painted. Been looking at waggler rods for the canal, keep yous posted if anything develops. Quote
Carpbell3 Posted May 5 Report Posted May 5 Ohh the waggler is looking positive, no action as such yet, but I did think it would be a fine morning to go have a looksie at a few spots on the Grand Union canal, I already know where I'm heading nice and local. looking at a 10 foot beefed up waggler rod that can handle 8lb line the Drennam red rage is looking good the ten foot float version with a dawia 25 rz 2500 reel. Size 16 hooks might even need a 4lb hook length for a size 18 hook, going big perch fishing stepped up enough should one of the canal carp take a liking commonly 1 Quote
Carpbell3 Posted May 6 Report Posted May 6 See Preston do a rod and reel range with 420 logos and branding Wonder where they nicked that from, I'm tempted to try the waggler rod for the branding alone, plus the fact it's a really nice slim blank, just a touch above what I want to spend, plus the Drennan red rod comes with over sized eyes, not sure on the pellet waggler rods they look a bit clumsy for canal angling and I really do need something that will fish lines up to 8lb bs, trust me most waggler rods will have a problem with line above 5lb, the friction really does add up fast. Carpbell3 Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 My Jalopy is sorted, had to box off the rear pipe work in the end the corrosion spot is in a bracket area of the pipe work so no chance of sealing it, if I can be bothered at some point I will grab a whole new, from the scrap yard, rear pipe system easy to fit that why they corrode completely exposed to the under spray. Carpbell3 Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 Must admit to nearly messing up the engine such an idiot, when I replaced the coolant I refilled the expansion tank thinking it would pump around the car from there, razzed it round the block and nearly overheated the engine, got back and filled the through engine cap, engine was bone dry it gulped it down giving out big burps as the air was forced out, my mobile mechanic would of never trusted me again, if it's an easy job he tells me what needs doing, with a very confident 'you could do that' added here and there. salokcinnodrog Posted 10 hours ago Author Report Posted 10 hours ago An annoying strange occurrence last night while fishing. I picked up my phone, with about 30% battery left, in a bad signal area in North Suffolk, to check the weather on MetOffice, and the phone froze as I opened the app. Despite all attempts to close it, I eventually had to attempt to restart my phone. Instead of restarting it would get to boot screen and then click off and attempt to restart continually. This continued for a couple of hours until it switched off permanently. This morning I tried to restart it again, and plugged in my powerpack to check it was not a flat battery. It started doing the reboot and restart again, so for obvious reasons I packed up and came home. Back at my flat I switched sim card to my old phone to check for missed calls, one I expected from Bruce, as I have arranged to give him a lift Friday. I had another missed call from my Dad, who said apparently I had called him around 5am this morning. Despite trying to hard reboot using the on and volume buttons, nothing, so I had to do hard factory reset and reload all my details and apps from my old phone. It does mean that I have lost pictures from the last year. Quote
