  1. Hi Blue . Do you have the JRC X Lite Recliner ? . 😃
  2. I will be very interested to read about what glasses the pair of you end up with . I wear varifocals with 2 different colour clip ons for sunny days , and they're from Specsavers ; I'll go and sit on The Naughty Step , or Reflection Step ? , now . 😔
  3. Aah , I thought you were going to end up married to the lovely Linda . 😁
  4. Hmm , I wonder how I can read an extract from Winterwalk before I commit to buying it ? . 🤔
  5. Hello Blue I also love Chris Yates's books , the only one I struggled with is Nightwalk , but I'll try again one day . 😃
  6. Thanks , fellas . I won't waste time trying to tie the rig then . 😃
  7. Hello everyone I stumbled across the above rig on a Gardner video , has anyone tried it please ? . I hate tying rigs , so I guess I'm looking for an excuse not to bother with this one ! . 😁
  8. Thanks very much for all your help , Mufty . I'm thinking when we are allowed back fishing the lakes where I go are going to be manic , so I'll need an alternative to ledgering for Carp . 😃
  9. Thanks , Mufty , that's a lot bigger hook than I would have thought , but you're the one that's having success so I'll follow your lead . Many thanks . 🙃
  10. Thanks , Mufty . What hook would you recommend please ? . 😃
  11. If I understand you , Carpepecheur , you use an inline lead ( 2oz. ? ) tie on a link ( semi stiff , coated braid ( ? ) , with a No. 8 ( ? ) Ring Swivel , then thread the Pop Up on , tie on your hook ( a curve shank ( ? ) and add the shot tight up to the Pop Up . 😃
  12. Yes thanks , Carpepecheur . 😃
  13. That does sound fun , Mufty . So 1 1/2 t.c. rod , 6lb or 8lb line sz. 10 hook ? - I'm hoping this is what you use as I've already got these bits . 😁
  14. Except that before The Lockdown Spurs weren't doing anything , we can't end up below Arsenal , can we ? 😱.
  15. A " normal " person would have just given up , that Yonny is a persistent devil isn't he . This would be why he catches the big fish , doesn't know when he's beaten , and none of that " that's more or less in the right place , and / or probably presented o.k. " . 😁
  16. Good grief ! , but then again I've never fished for 4 days . Is that all your kit , Dayvid ? , only I think I can count at least 2 if not 3 bedchairs . Fully charged battery ? . 😁
  17. Did I spot you in that video , Elmo ? . 😁
  18. I wondered what Elmo and Yonny were laughing at , guess I've led a sheltered life . 😳
  19. Hello , Darryl Are you allowed to walk this water during the Lockdown ? ; I've just returned from my local lakes as the Manager of the lakes said it's o.k. to do as long as I don't fish . I'm thinking that while it's quiet the old, wily carp may be off guard and it would be an ideal time to see how they react to different baits , NOT prebaiting , but literally a few grains of sweetcorn , a piece or 2 of bread etc ? . 😃
  20. Well there you are , Tree , it's unanimous then . 😁
  21. Well it sounds as though though Blue has a lovely collection of Cane Rods ! . 😁
  22. Hello Richard I remember Chris Ball writing that it's all about balance i.e. he used at one point a fibreglass 1 1/2 lb t.c. rod with 6lb maxima and landed 20s , but that would have been in open water ? . IMO it's like Elmo says you need to absorb that initial surge when the fish is hooked , with a through actioned rod and a stretchable line .
  23. Thanks very much GP . I've never met Terry , but he comes over as a really decent bloke .
  24. Yes it does , I want my rig to sit up smartly just like that , thanks . 👍
  25. Well I hadn't given any thought to the direction I should strip back , so thanks very much , Blue . 😃
