  1. Hi Elmo If they do float why not use them for a spot of floater fishing ? . Chuck a mixed handful in , some sink , some waft , some rise up to the surface where your ( Elmos' ) artfully presented surface bait is waiting to be gulped down . 😁
  2. Well if it's too cold for a Northern lad I don't feel such a Southern Softie for staying at home , and keeping my gear clean and dry . 😁
  3. Elmos' Wife will have to grease him up , like they do for English Channel swimmers ! . 😁
  4. Hi Elmo . I bought a Baiting Spoon for a particular margin swim , then the bailiff cut the tree down 😑 . I usually carry the B.S. in the back of the car , just in case , as sometimes I need it to tuck my bait into little margin spots where others may not be able to put a bait ? . πŸ˜ƒ
  5. Hi Jh92 Well when you add up the cost of all the bits you are getting they are Β£180 worth , but if you went to your local independent tackle shop you may be able to cut a deal - I did . How much is postage ? . πŸ˜ƒ
  6. I've looked at the MPS heads before as they reminded me of the Nash slapheads . At the moment I use Gardner Nano Bugs , as I like the light weight of the bobbins and the cords . I expect you have given a lot of thought as to why you should match the MPS heads with Cygnet arms , or did you just ask HIghy , the " indicator King " ? . 😁 πŸ˜ƒ
  7. Well IMO , Elmo I would throw that devil in the lake and stay on your bait , but maybe reduce the size . After all your hard work ( with some lovely results ) , push on next year and catch more , and bigger fish . πŸ˜ƒ
  8. I didn't enjoy nights , felt it messed with my body clock . πŸ˜ƒ
  9. What Bobbins are they , Elmo ? . πŸ˜ƒ
  10. I'll put my orange Tutti pops up back in my bait bag , thanks . πŸ‘ 😁
  11. That's a lot of helpful info. , Nick . It's taken some careful reading to make sure I've taken it all in . 😁
  12. Thanks , Elmo , helpful as always . πŸ˜ƒ
  13. Hi Fellas Do you think it is important that all your different colour Pop Ups are of the same flavour , or is it just the colour that is of importance ? . Also what about size and shape ? . Lastly , would you worry if you didn't match your Pop Up flavour with that of the food source boilies you were fishing over ? . Ta πŸ˜ƒ
  14. Tight lines , Elmo . 25 acres all to yourself ! , oh that's way too many options for me 😱 .
  15. I would have thought target the edge of the pads , not right into the pads as any exposed roots / rhizomes are pretty vicious . πŸ˜ƒ
  16. Well at least you got out there , I listened to the rain and wind , and hid under my duvet 😴. So it's a consolation McDonalds if you don't catch , and a celebration McDonalds if you do catch ? 😁.
  17. At least you managed to get set up and inside your bivvy before the rain started , and aren't you supposed to fish into the wind ? . 😁
  18. Perhaps put your teeth in next time , Elmo ? 😁

  20. Cheers , Kev πŸ˜ƒ
  21. So what size hooks would you be using with these boilie sizes please , Kev. ? πŸ˜ƒ
  22. Tight lines , Elmo , and congratulations on the 20+ , I'll look for the 'photos on another thread . 😁
  23. Hi Elmo . I use a combi rig with an ESP Gripper hook with a hair . Using pop ups , almost all my hookholds are in the scissors , but after reading your post I altered the rig so that the hair came off the middle of the bottom of the hook ; I've had one fish hooked middle of the bottom lip , so I'll see if this was a one off , or I carry on with improved hookholds πŸ€” πŸ˜ƒ
  24. I'd like to see a 'photo of that 😁
  25. Ooh , I feel a cunning plan brewing . 😁
