  1. Hi Nick I thought it was you that previously said a coloured line was more supple as the dye softened it ? .
  2. I'm not allowed to use braid on my lake , even for marker / spod work . 😞
  3. Thanks , fellas , that's very helpful . 👍
  4. Hi Everyone I'm loading my Reels up with fresh line , but what breaking strain for ; ( a ) Controller Float fishing ? , and ( b ) Freelining close in ? . My lake holds Carp up to about 25lb , with lillies , and overhanging trees . Thanks . 😃
  5. Listen to your Wife , and buy her some flowers for being such a sensible lady . 😄
  6. Hi Elmo If they do float why not use them for a spot of floater fishing ? . Chuck a mixed handful in , some sink , some waft , some rise up to the surface where your ( Elmos' ) artfully presented surface bait is waiting to be gulped down . 😁
  7. Well if it's too cold for a Northern lad I don't feel such a Southern Softie for staying at home , and keeping my gear clean and dry . 😁
  8. Elmos' Wife will have to grease him up , like they do for English Channel swimmers ! . 😁
  9. Hi Elmo . I bought a Baiting Spoon for a particular margin swim , then the bailiff cut the tree down 😡 . I usually carry the B.S. in the back of the car , just in case , as sometimes I need it to tuck my bait into little margin spots where others may not be able to put a bait ? . 😃
  10. Hi Jh92 Well when you add up the cost of all the bits you are getting they are £180 worth , but if you went to your local independent tackle shop you may be able to cut a deal - I did . How much is postage ? . 😃
  11. I've looked at the MPS heads before as they reminded me of the Nash slapheads . At the moment I use Gardner Nano Bugs , as I like the light weight of the bobbins and the cords . I expect you have given a lot of thought as to why you should match the MPS heads with Cygnet arms , or did you just ask HIghy , the " indicator King " ? . 😁 😃
  12. Well IMO , Elmo I would throw that devil in the lake and stay on your bait , but maybe reduce the size . After all your hard work ( with some lovely results ) , push on next year and catch more , and bigger fish . 😃
  13. I didn't enjoy nights , felt it messed with my body clock . 😃
  14. What Bobbins are they , Elmo ? . 😃
  15. I'll put my orange Tutti pops up back in my bait bag , thanks . 👍 😁
  16. That's a lot of helpful info. , Nick . It's taken some careful reading to make sure I've taken it all in . 😁
  17. Thanks , Elmo , helpful as always . 😃
  18. Hi Fellas Do you think it is important that all your different colour Pop Ups are of the same flavour , or is it just the colour that is of importance ? . Also what about size and shape ? . Lastly , would you worry if you didn't match your Pop Up flavour with that of the food source boilies you were fishing over ? . Ta 😃
  19. Tight lines , Elmo . 25 acres all to yourself ! , oh that's way too many options for me 😱 .
  20. I would have thought target the edge of the pads , not right into the pads as any exposed roots / rhizomes are pretty vicious . 😃
  21. Well at least you got out there , I listened to the rain and wind , and hid under my duvet 😴. So it's a consolation McDonalds if you don't catch , and a celebration McDonalds if you do catch ? 😁.
  22. At least you managed to get set up and inside your bivvy before the rain started , and aren't you supposed to fish into the wind ? . 😁
  23. Perhaps put your teeth in next time , Elmo ? 😁
  24. Cheers , Kev 😃
