As a Postie I'm lucky to meet many different breeds of dog , but a bouncy Spaniel is one of my favourites - I'm also quite partial to a blue Staffie . 😄
-
That's you , Highy , and Kev. that have mentioned the margins . I'll give the margins a go , save me getting stressed when I try to get tight to the far bank and cast into a tree , unless it's dusk because the carp roost in the trees at night , don't they 🤫 . 😁

Hello Ark I've just remembered that Sticky do their Signature Pop Ups in a mixed pot of washed out / pale , yellow , pink and white , BUT I'm not sure about their buoyancy - I tend to recast every 2 hrs or so ; the Sticky pop ups do feel a different texture to the other pop ups I use i.e. a bit " chalky " ? . 😃

Pepperami Good Carp Bait Or Not ?
crusian replied to kanetaylor1996's topic in UK Bait and Bait Making
That's the sort of bait that Bluelabel might well have used 🤔 -
I'm a White , Pink , Yellow , and maybe an Orange man then change between wafters , dumbells , and sizes of Pop Ups . 😃
-
I use a Sz. 6 , targeting doubles up to 20s. Don't forget Greekskiis' reply where he has highlighted changing your hook pattern on the Chod Rig ( which I missed - doh ! ) . 😃
-
Hello Zorbeen I'm grateful that Cromiee and you asked your similar questions as it's certainly got me thinking , and there's been interesting replies , particularly from Kev. I've never used a chod rig before so I can't comment on that rig , but my knee jerk reaction looking at both rigs is " what size hook are you using ? " . 😃
-
When you say " casting to fizzing " are you landing your bait right on the fizzing , or trying to anticipate the path the fizzing is going to take and placing your bait further along that path ? . In the perfect world you would have your rig in place and the fizzing would come to you , and then if you weren't getting any bites you could start twiddling with your bait and / or rigs . 😃
-
Well hopefully Rishi Sunaks' Summer Statement will help you . 😃

Hope the syndicate is everything you want it to be , Nick . I guess you are back to work now ? sounds like your luck's changing 😁
-
Thanks for the update , Carpmaster . IMO you would be better off going somewhere other than the park lake , go with your gut instinct . I wonder if , as Chill. I think is suggesting , there's going to be an oxygen crash at the park lake and subsequent fish deaths ? 😟

I haven't actually got a bed , Framey , I use a camp bed ( which decided to creak every time I moved last time out ) , but I would probably go for a compact for weight , and I'm only about 5ft. 8" . I could probably go to about £100 , Yonny , if I had the bag delivered to work so my Wife didn't find out - I'm not a d.i.y. expert like Highy 😁
-
Well I'm certainly listening , Carpmaster , as my last trip out was very disappointing . I wonder if with Lockdown , and Furlough there are more anglers out fishing so more bait is going in , and as Nick types the weather isn't ideal at the moment ? . 😃
-
Hi Fellas I'm starting to do more nights without any front on my Trakker Tempest Brolly , but I find it a bit chilly . Can anyone recommend a good sleeping bag / sleep system please ? . 😃

The bloke sounds a bit of a (censored) head . 🙄

Tight lines for Thursday , GInger . Nick Cunnell , Duty Manager is a friendly , helpful chap if he is about . 😃
-
So you were casting to your left to a bank , the other side of which was another lake with an angler fishing along that bank ? ; but you weren't even casting into " his " lake ? . If swearing man was complaining about the noise of your continual casting what about his walkie talkie talking ? . 🤔
-
When I read yours and Gingers' posts , Nick , I felt for both of you , what with Ginger on his Comeback , and you starting to see the fruits of all your labours . So now there's a chance of a new project ? . Any chance of a PM giving more details of this Suffolk Syndicate , just as long as it doesn't stuff things up for you ? . 😃
-
Oh , Ginger , Nick that's awful ! . I was miffed last week because of the noise and disturbance at my lake while they were getting ready for a match , but that's nothing compared to what has happened to you 2 . Off the top of my head , Ginger , if you want 40lb fish the only place I can think of in Suffolk is Suffolk Water Park , or it's Essex or Cambs. 😃

Gardner Hydro Tuff or Rigmarole SLS Specimen Tough
crusian replied to crusian's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
Thanks Elmo and Yonny I think I'll start of with the Rigmarole until I've used it all up as I understand it's no longer being made ; then I'll go onto the Hydro. 😃 -
Did you use a boat to get to your swim , Commonly ? . Have you screen captured Nicks' advice based on his Res. experience ? , maybe if you dipped into his posts when your confidence starts to wobble ? . It looks like you're fishing into the wind , and I would think that a lot of natural food , bugs etc is being swept your way ? . 😃
-
Go get them , Commonly . 😃
-
Well I headed to the shallows which had been the weediest part of the lake , ( before a lot of the weed was removed ) , after having a bit of a stroll around the rest of the lake - and I caught ! . So thank you very much Framey , and Yonny . Now which one of you gentlemen would like to push my barrow round to my swim for me ? . 😁
-
Hello everyone . I know Yonny is going to say " fish where the fish are " , but what if I am weak and feeble , and don't want to spend 3 hours like Ginger walking the lake looking for signs of fish ? . I'm thinking of concentrating on the deeper water as I'm thinking it will be more oxygenated ( I've noticed that the last 2 fish I've caught and released in the shallow water near the bank are taking longer to recover than usual . Also at night what is the weed doing ? , i.e. giving or taking oxygen ? . Ta . 😃
