    Hi Newmarket I wonder if the 30 who don't fish are waiting for those 10-14lb Carp to grow into 20s , and then memberships may become hard to come by . 🤔

    I used to just go floater fishing armed just with a bag , rod , mat and landing net ; only taking a seat and ledger rod if the weather looked as though nothing could be tempted on the surface . However getting older with a manual job sometimes I just want to plonk myself down in a swim , and set up shop . So am I enjoying my fishing more these days 🤔 .

    Thank you for your beautiful post , Barry . I find that as I get older I'm getting grumpier , and too quick to jump to the wrong conclusions 😔 . I would like to think even I would have worked out what was happening , and now your timely post has given me a kick up the bum to put my brain in gear . 😃

    So if you can’t see any signs of the Carp where do people think they might be ? . Maybe in the deepest part of the lake where there is more oxygen ( ? ) , compared to the shallows ? ; or does the time of day alter things ? . 🤔

    Hi Everyone I used to use clip ons over my prescription glasses , but recently I changed frames and now they don't fit . What to do , shop around for new clip ons , or is it worth having prescription polaroids ? . Thanks . 🤔

    Hello KiwiCarper From my quick google of the Waikato River , I can’t think of any rivers in England that are similar . Perhaps if you go on YouTube there might be clips of Fishing in the Thames or the Severn which are quite large powerful rivers ? . So will you be getting a “ New Zealand Carping “ section all to yourself , KiwiCarper ? . 😄

    Hi Newmarket I wonder if it would work if you baited an area which attracted the smaller carp , but then fished a little away from the baited area where hopefully the big boys and girls were lurking as they don't fancy having to fight for their food . Alternatively I'm sure there was a thread once which recommended a high pop up - 2" or 3" ? . I can't remember , are you allowed to floater fish ? . 😃
