  1. Congratulations on the addition to your family , Ouch . 🚼
  2. I feel for you , Kev . I've lost my last 4 Carp in the lillies , and although probably only low to mid doubles it still anoys me , and I think " what could I have done different ? " . One of the loses was when I rushed sideways to hustle the Carp away from the lillies only to kick the water bucket ( that I'd forgot was there ) ; so I look down to see why my sock was wet , and that 1 second delay in playing the Carp was all it needed to shed the hook . So next time out you'll just have to catch an absolute monster to help the painfull memory of your loss to fade away . 😃
  3. Well Jack doesn't need to say anything for you to see he is not impressed with your decision to be in your bivvy at bite time ! .
  4. Thanks , Nick
  5. Yes , I guess I have , Yonny you wise old owl . I'll start of with a basic plastic screw , and maybe then upgrade to a small rig ring and attach the pop up with floss . 😃
  6. Ah , ran out of time editing ! . Should I change from a Ridgemonkey Small Hook Ring Bait Screw as sometimes the screw seems to work its way through the hookhold and cause a bit of damage to the Carp's mouth ? . I'm thinking of a plastic bait screw with no swivel . 😃

  8. Thanks , Yonny .
  9. After my Son excitedly watched his tadpoles growing in our pond a Magpie went and ate them 🤬 .
  10. A Dragon Fly hitching a lift on a Common , extraordinary ! . The only way I can think of to get an even better 'photo would be a Kingfisher sitting on one of my rods . 😃
  11. Hi Everyone I've just seen that a tackle shop near one of the waters I fish is stocking the above boilies . I realise if they are a small company with labour intensive methods of production that would drive the costs up , but are the flavours any good ? .
  12. Well done for rising above all the provocations and triumphing . I mean did these numpties not realise from your hat that they were dealing with a serious carper ?. 😁
  13. With such a beautiful setting who needs to catch anything , it would only disturb the tranquility . 😄
  14. That's disappointing , G P . Could your lifts on the bobbin be Bream ? .
  15. Damn these fish they just don't care about an angler's comfort ! . Good on you for putting Sky's needs first . 😃
  16. Oh no ! , in other words I can't just plonk myself down in the nearest shady spot I've got to actually put the effort in , how disappointing . Still good guidance as well as Kev , and Golden Paws .
  17. I hope your session turns out much better than you are anticipating , Golden Paws . Thanks for the tips . 😃
  18. Thanks very much , Kev , top tips there . From a Grey / Ginger 😁
  19. Hello Everyone . I hate this hot weather , but if I did try and go fishing , hiding in a shady spot would it be worth all the effort ? . The water temperature readings I have been getting are in the 20's C . So I'm guessing go for deep , but how deep ? , water ; aerated , and try to avoid the bright sun ? . What are people doing please ? . 😃
  20. Ah , Zombie Sheep Lake ,and now they are coming mob handed 😱 .
  21. Thanks Golden Paws. No fountains for me then ! . 😁
  22. Hello Everyone . A water I fish has aerators installed on the lake bed , and my question is should I fish near these aerators as the water close to them may be well oxgenated ?.
  23. Oh poo . Also you impatiently waited all of June ? , to go fishing and then we have a heatwave ! . 😢
  24. Hello Yonny . I was sad to read about your favourite Koi . I seem to remember in hot countries they errect " sails " to provide shade from the sun , and spray water ( in mist form ? ) over the area they want to cool down . Would this be a practicable / too expensive possible solution ?.
  25. There you are , Newmarket , David Sullivan gone ! . 😃
