I used to fish it years ago for the pike, I didn't even know there were carp in there, have they been stocked? I do know many years ago it was a private trout fishery and when we pike fished one of my mates caught a 7 pound brown trout on a drifter float fishing a dead bait. Is it still on the Southport ticket?

A couple of weeks ago I had to resort to chest waders to cross the outflow, and pull some weed out to get baits in the water, I got flipping freezing feet. Back on the bank and into the Nitehawk boots a lot warmer.
As Yonny says, warm legs help keep your feet warm. I've been wearing combat trousers with Hoogs Strathmoor over trousers over the top, but even with chesties they were cold.
The nighthawk boots look really good, could you tell me if they are waterproof, i can't find it anywhere in the information.

I got off to a flyer with 7 takes 4 landed in the first afternoon, thank goodness I had a few bags ready - with mild temps and rain all day I managed to drop in the right place at the right time and get a few bites before it switched back off.
The following day I was ready for the afternoon carnage but nothing happened, in hindsight the fish had probably moved down the other end with the weather, being the complete opposite to the day before- clear skies and cool temps.
Guess there will be some bangers out this weekend.

My goals for 2021 stay with the same club try and fish more 2020 has been a bad year for fishing for me. Early 2021 perch and then try for the carp, I'm not setting any targets for myself I'm just going to try and get out more and enjoy it. 😁👍
Also I want to get out on my motorbike more. 🏍💨😁

I've used this knot for years, both carp fishing and sea fishing.
I used this knot for years while shore fishing with no problems what so ever.😁👍

Totally agree wouldn't use live bait if there were pike in the water, I usually use lob worm and prawns so I will probably stick with them I normally do ok, its just finding the bigger perch in the pond I know they are in there. Location location. 😂😂.

It is years since I used live baits the rules have probably all changed. The rule on using them from the water you are fishing has always been in place as far as I know. 😁👍

Doesn't bother me at all mate I used live bait for my pike fishing for years but that's something I will have to check on in my latest club waters.
