Yeah mate Iโ€™m really enjoyingย it, hopefully going again tomorrow morning ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ 0.5 - 7g rod, bends almost in half when hooking the wrasse ๐Ÿ˜† just need some more isome worms now ๐Ÿ˜‚

Going myself tomorrow but just on my mates farm pond, I wish I was going sitting on a rock mark somewhere catching wrasse. Your so lucky to live by the sea mate, I'm so jealous. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes you are correct it is a tom pot blenny, You can'tย ย beat a bit mini species bashing from the rocks.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽฃ

Well with my results being ok recently I managed to sort another session this weekend. I didn't bother baiting the night before as that seems to have been a waste of time recently. Fishing off the barrow seems to be the one at the mo. So as normal the alarm goes off bright and early and down the lake for opening time. I had an inkling of where they'd be and 45 mins standing in the rain getting soaked proved it to be the case. I saw several.

So the rods come out, quick flick about and I find an awesome spot, surrounded by thick weed and not too far out. Easy fishing. Two rods on the spot and 10 spombs, time to relax. I was pondering what to do with the third rod an hour later and I get a take. Feels a bit tenchy but as it gets closer it starts to pull and turns out to be a little stocky mirror, a very, very pretty one.

So with the pressure off and a blank off the cards I'm thinking this could be a good session. I redo the rod and top up with another few spombs. Get the kettle on and still seeing signs, this is looking decent. Another hour passes and I get a few liners so when the rod goes I'm kinda expecting it. This one fights harder and the weed becomes a problem, in and out of different weed beds but steady pressure sees it in the net. This one is a real minter, on original common with colours that speak for themselves!

So I'm a bit pleased with that one and repeat the process.... rod out, few spombs, cuppa tea. Still seeing signs, not quite as many but hey who cares. A couple of hours passes and I start getting the odd liner again. Twoย or three shows over the spot and off it goes again. Another weedy battle and I soon have another common in the net. I don't recognise it and tbh I'm not sure if it's an original or a stocky. It's not massive but it's certainly another pretty one.

So its turning into a red letter day, I've never had more than 3 of the 60 odd carp that live in this water in one day so I'm thinking I'll go for the record lol. I'm actually just getting this fish in the retainer ready for weighing and photos and a dog walker comes past and has a look. He's suitably impressed and so am I when the other rods tears off. I need to get the common back in the water so tell this old boy to hit the other rod, which he does bless him. Of course he doesn't know what I'm on about when I tell him to tighten the clutch so this fish is just taking line but it's better than nothing I guess. The common is finally in the water so I grab the rod off the old boy, thanking him profusely, and proceed to land my fourth carp (!).

This one I do recognise, a fish we call the Otter Dodger. Another repeat (3rd time I've had it bless it) but with each repeat I know I'm getting closer to the one I'm after.

    20210730_112855.thumb.jpg.bf4d254fcff1b7fa35fa0132c200aaac.jpg

It's another old original, a special one, and I'm happy.

So long story short I've now run out of bait and although my mate brings some more down in the afternoon the chance is gone. No more sightings and the afternoon is quiet. I'm looking forward to getting back down as it seems I can do no wrong at the moment. Must have stepped in something. The biggun is due so roll on the next sesh.

Excellent wright up and top angling again yonny.๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

Thanks mine goes too often as well, it's usually worse when it's something stupid that caused it,ย

Your not wrong mate mine goes at the most trivial things, one of the worst times I was actually just brushing my teeth, I wasn't even bent over,ย  I was stood up straight and my back went and I couldn't even move.ย

Well guess what I'm also of work for 10 days and I've not got a car, it's in the repair shop as like a div I backed into a brick wall two weeks ago. The insurance have given me a curtesy car about as big as a match box so I can't really do any fishing as it's not big enough to carry anything. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Managed to get an impromptu session on Saturday after convincing the Mrs it was a good idea on Friday. Popped over Friday night to put some bait in and got on there at first light Saturday morning. Not much happening and by 07:30 I knew I'd need to get on my toes if anything was going to change that.ย I spotted one a long, long way away so got the binos out and hey presto; I saw another pop its head out. In come the rods, ontoย the barrow, off we go for an adventure.

Got round there and it was clear there were a few about. I had one chuck with a bear lead to see if the area was clear and unusually it went down with a nice satisfying bump first time. Result. Wrapped 2 rods up and popped them next to each other at just past 40 yards, 4 spombs over the top, sat back for a brew. Half an hour later and something is going on with one of the rods. Up and down the bobbin was going but I couldn't tell if it was a bream on the end or just crazy liners. Five minutes after it started the bobbin stayed up so I hit it. Nothing on the end. Odd.

So I'm re-wrapping this rod up to get it back out and I get a beep on the other rod. I'm kinda convinced I have bream on the spot so I'm cursing them as it absolutely melts off. I drop the rod I'm wrapping and jump on the other one. It's straight into the long stringy weed that grows in this area. It actually does my a favour and once it's freed it comes back very easily with weed over its face. I recognise it as it comes closer. One of the odd'n's, an old pug nosedย common with a bunch of ghostieย in it that get seen a lot but rarely gets caught. Into the net, happy with that one.

    20210711_105425.thumb.jpg.283f708c60e72f208eb43995834090ac.jpg

The carp are still about so I go back to the rod that was being wrapped up and get it back out quickly. Re-tackle rod number 2 and get that out next to it. 4 more spombs and hope that it hasn't scared them away. It hasn't, and the rod goes againย within half an hour. This one fights a bit harder until it gets stuck in the weed. I manage to free it and it kites to the right round some reeds. Rod tip down and I manage to drag it back. It's just a stocky but my word the colour of it is immense. Lovely dark shadesย with a black back, leathery with a massive tail and tiny mouth. I can see how it fought so hard.

    20210711_105444.thumb.jpg.eb95b4465ebbcae21d0e62983a3fb935.jpg

The carp seem to back off after that. I sit it out hoping they come back but by lateย afternoon it's clear they've done the off. I'm not that bothered as it's been a lovely morning and I'm more than happy with the result. Already looking at the diary to see when I can get back down.

    Happy days.

Stunning fish and top angling skills yonny well done mate. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

I can still remember the first night, I was told to let the puppy cry it out, by midnight I couldnโ€™t take it anymore and went to see to her only to find her to have crapped in the crate and get covered in it. I had to giveย her a bath in the middle of the night ๐Ÿ˜‚ since then she just stays on the end of the bed ๐Ÿ˜‚

Our pup just wouldn't take to the crate he used to cry and howl all night and one night he had the runs in there, I've never seen such a mess before or since, So we had to get rid of the crate and give him the run of down stairs, now 8 years on he's got the run of the whole house. But too say he's spoiledย would be an understatement. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

When we got our puppy it was like having another baby, I can only imagine having two puppies is going to be like having twins, goodluck with that elmo. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ
