  1. not about vintage tackle. However...for those of us who started 40+ years ago will remember this famous shot when it was published in KM's Book, reading Pete's story & seeing that photo made me MEGA KEEN! Sir Pete Springate's Yeoveney Brace caught in October 1978 - 38lb 8oz and 36lb 8oz

    AA Baits Hydro liquids

Never used the hydro liver, but used hydro active wheat, hydro shrimp and the ocean+. I've used them for rolling baits and also coating the baits when fishing. I normally put a kilo or two in a bucket, a cap full of hydro and some warm water. I've liked all my stuff from aa baits and have confidence in them. I will be trying the hydro liver soon when I go back to my lt94 bait 👍

    First time EVER

Ironically a few weeks after my last post on this thread I had a fall and broke my hip and femur . Was off work for 3 & 1/2 months and to this day I still walk with a pronounced limp . Having a metal rod running from my hip’s ball joint down to my knee (with my knee occasionally giving way) probably means I’ll always have it and I’m guessing that the days of me lugging around Bivvies , Carp rods and buckets of bait around are almost certainly gone now but I hope to still be able to take Tj on a few coarse trips when the weather warms up a bit . He certainly bangs on about it enough but it’ll be difficult as all my fishing gear is in storage but that’s another story .

  7. There have been some posts about vintage tackle recently, that's why I asked about a section for it. I'm not opposed to reading stuff and seeing old stories and pictures about your inspirations though. That's also why I would like a video link library, would be good to look back through it in years to come.

    Slip D Rig

The slip d does me well on a long shank but get alot if problems if there's silvers or bream. These would eliminate it being tangled round the hook. Did try making it with fluro and landed a few fish but never stuck with it. I always throw out with a mesh bag and depending on the rig I leave a little tail after the knot and wrap it around the hair and back to the hook to make sure the bait stays presented correctly

  14. Well... considering that Richard Walker's 44lber from Redmire kicked off the carping craze in the UK, I think its only fair we take note of the fact that he landed a 44lb Common on a 10 foot cane rod of approx 1.5lbs Test Curve... and not a spod rod Us vintage lads have seen everything in the carp world more or less, and we're still pulling 20's out on our bits o' cane...😉😛😎👍 That said, Walker was an innovator and I'm sure he would have embraced the modern methods had he been alive today

Kingfisher, mate. There's a few beauties in there. I'm sure the others will post their captures, where as I will have to settle for a few rod shots & the view from the bivvy🤣
