I used to use the "K" paddle with my mixer, i found it mixed it together faster. I thought the dough hook was useless,  though I guess it depends on how sticky your mix is. Mine wasn't sticky at all.

Thanks for the replies 👍 it's a 20 litre hobart mixer, I'm probably gonna go for it and if the paddle don't do the job I'll try and get a hook for it as they seem quite easy to source second hand 👍

Cooking curry from scratch, got the base gravy cooking made from fresh veg all blitzed in the blender, spices cooked in gee, chicken sitting in a nice tandoori rub to be added later, even make my own naan breads, fry a bit of onion in gee and add it to the finished rice,  love that fresh smell of all the base ingredients simmering.

Should be a mild madras when finished I would normally finish it balti style in a pan but I think I will add the meat to the base for a more one pot traditional style curry. I know it will be delicious either way.

Don't eat shellfish nothing to do with this just don't like em, not a single one of the little critters.

Not a problem.  I can help that painful lobster tail or crab claw by dipping it in soothing warm butter, with a hint of garlic.  [I'm also the guy claiming the best meat comes from the animals with the biggest, brownest eyes]

A lot of people are put off by how they look & what they eat. They are kind of like the insects of the sea so I could understand that point of view.

Taste and texture not a fan of fish at all other than from a nice chippy.

Me too, but I'm a fan of prawns/shrimps, lobster, squid etc. for some bizarre reason.

Love a piece of battered cod from the chippy, trout very occasionally & that's about it.

Freshly caught bass, thornback skate, cod do go down well.

Skate with nutmeg mashed potato, carrots and broccoli and a cheese sauce.

Bass and cod I fillet and fry in the pan with onions, then whatever potatoes, except chips.

100% agree with pan fried bass or cod fillet. I couldn't believe the taste difference from fish I'd caught to shop brought/ chip shop fish. 

Also plaice is one of my faves.

Well I had no luck on the bass front,  mainly because the whiting and dogfish were on the bait in minutes.

Been doing a couple of sea beach trips lately and I was faced with convincing a rag worm to get on a 2/0 hook. A beach walker came up to ask have i had any fish. I had the worm in one hand and the hook in the other and said to the guy last time I baited up was in 1986 not sure I can do it 🤢 He laughed and I just got on with it. Got a pouting on the worm knocked the fish on the head and put that on a bigger hook and catch a small conger. ..but for a moment I struggled. In the past had  no problem with peeler or hardback for smooth hound or live bait  

I could never eat a lobster, crab or prawns, ok with fish and the best tasting one Iv had is pollock, which was on the bbq within 30 mins of catching it yummy !

With the Hobart you do need to make sure you stop the mixer before changing the gears or you will smash them.

the modern ones have a fibre gearing 

I have known bait makers smash the metal gears up and it’s usually the first gear because they are like animals

On a mission today, battery went flat on my motor Xmas eve, so had to get a charger which meant I couldn't get over to the vape shop till today, bought on of those elf bar vapes locally foul tasting thing that got binned, considering it is meant to be a tobacco replacement you would think they would sell tobacco flavours, you will be lucky if the shops stock one disposable that is tobacco flavour.

The DWP have been behaving OK, lol, 

Actually moved us over to UC with no hassle all reviews were paper based and completed in three months put the Mrs into the LCWWRA group after her docs sent some info in.

Advised me to put a fit note in for myself due to a few things, but I didn't bother as of yet, still waiting for my COPD tests, and a hernia op, lol nah don't want to go on the sick... looked as if I was mad.

Well I gave my first Pike Anglers Club presentation in Lincoln at the start of December, all photographs moved from Android phone onto USB stick. They can't be put in time order so it is a case of slideshow by double clicking each pic as you need it.

 

The next regional presentation I will be doing for the PAC is in Cambridge Region on 8th January.

I had a trip out yesterday for a couple of hours and  two young friends in their young teens came past and asked if I had anything and if it was ok to set up in the corner way over to my left. I replied had nothing and yes, it’s okay to fish in the corner and thanked them for asking.  One had a run and hooked a jack Pike about 4-5 lb on a pineapple pop up 😳 I shouted over well done lads and one asked if I could take a pic. The both was so excited I took the pic of them holding the fish and they returned it on the mat. ..

then as they watched it go they turned to each other and hugged it was lovely to see, a very uplifting moment.
