Fair play. But bare in mind you're leaving live rigs out there when the pike are cutting you off. Maybe change to lead clips and tubing?

Annoyingly it can happen anywhere between rod tip and end tackle.

I always use run rings, so they can get off the broken line.

I've actually waded out and retrieved a couple of my rigs, and other people's, and mine had no lead attached, although the other people's...

For an out the pack hook the esp range are pretty sharp, and the trig hammer XT is the right version of the trig hammer, it's a lot less flexible and still really sharp, I was getting loads of hooks coming back burred when using sharpened hooks, mainly when using wafters,so far the trig hammers have all came back sharp even with a straight point, although I think I will be switching more to pop ups again to try and beat the nuisance fish and that common this weekend restored my faith in the washed out pink proper jobs

I used to get a good number of fish on each hook when I used ESP patterns, they do hold their points.

As for pink pop-ups, they often get taken before any other bait.

Nice 👍

I use a Korum accessory chair very stable but gets uncomfortable after a while, I also had the adjustable rod arm but couldn’t get on with it only had to move a little and it looked like I had a bite…it came in handy once when I have a run in with an aggressive mouse I had the beast cornered in the shed we had a bit of a standoff somewhat similar to a Clint Eastwood spaghetti movie after a tense 5 mins he made the 1st move and I whacked him with the rod arm it broke and literally so did the mouse 🤢

Seeing how you all had fancy chairs, I've just ordered the new ridgemonkey umpire chair, it has really telescopic legs powered by a remote control so you can raise it up and look over the lake in comfort, and it drops down in a flash if you get a run, comes complete with rig board, carry bag and it's especially useful for casting zigs. Was expensive though £2019.99

Trakker CR 3 piece suit, ready for winter now.

OMC tungsten putty.

20m 20lb OMC flourocarbon.

Korda Krimps

Korda Small Krimp Tool

Korda Spinner Ring Swivels

Time to try making some of my own Ronnie's with a nice stiff boom.

Love the ronnie myself....

Mine is tied as below onto a running rig, all to be going in a PVA Bag next time out, also only 5 inch the rig.

It always happens, just when you think you are sorted.

The folding camping chairs are pretty handy, I use one on the beach rather than my Solar chair.

or try to master some sort of perfect loop knot.

I can't see me not using a braided boom section despite the visibility of it over fluoros and monos, simply because I don't like the idea of it sitting funny.  I'm not finding clear gravel areas on the pits I'm fishing.  If I went down the stiff boom route I'd have to use heli's as standard and I much prefer clips for convenience/lazy and imo better hooking.

For perfect round loop knots, you can get it very tidy with the Rapala knot. I get the perfect circle tying it round a Solar rig tool, the stainless tool that would stretch and slide beads to push tubing inside them.

I've actually used it for coated braids, mono and fluorocarbon.

I'm not sure about the visibility of braids against other materials, I think it is more natural, feeling more like weed. My choice for years has been Merlin but I do have some Gardner Camflex and Tricklink.

On looking for them in the margins in very clear water, they are invisible.
