Nothing I don't think mate, I just like the idea of using and catching on a bait I put together myself and knowing there's a really high chance no one else is using it lol. Also being able to roll a lot of bait cheaply, on a week session on my res in the summer I'll probably be doing 20kg+ π€£ Some of the main ingredients are wpc80, calcium caseinate, tigernut flour and a few more dry ingredients, liquids are nothing fancy, gonna be using a nut oil and one of the nutty liquids from aa baits π I've got a recipe ready but no idea how it's gonna roll with the machine so might have to adjust when the time comes π
-
I've done my order and gonna go with a milky nut bait and If I've worked it out correctly the finished bait should give roughly 39% protein 45% carbs 15% fats π

Yeah exactly that mate, I was paired up with a mate and we would go out delivering white goods, beds, sofas etc and would have a right laugh on the road. But they just expected too much, unrealistic expectations. Routed so its only tumble weeds blowing down the road π€£ It didn't really go the way I wanted and I'm now doing my final week as I was booked in for it. Suppose really it will work out better so I can get a order of base mix ingredients in and have them rolled up for next week π

Had to get out there mate as it started running me into the ground, money was good but it was basically go to work, come home, eat and go to bed, I struggled to find time to do anything and when I did, I couldn't be bothered as I was too tired lol.

I get all my stuff from aabaits.co.uk, used a few of the liquids from there and have done well π ones I've used so far are the shrimp hydro, krill hydro and the ocean+ mate π

Well I've just quit my job, got a meeting tomorrow morning then off fishing for a week. Don't have much bait, don't really care if I catch or not I just need to unwind π€£

Thanks bud I will have a look what they using π I find I get a good buzz from catching on something I've put together myself π€£

Thanks for the reply mate, I think what I'm going to do is just put an order in for my lt94 mix that works and an order for a nut/milk mix and fish 2 rods over the lt94 bait and 1 over the other and see if it produces while still having confidence in the other two rods on a proven bait π Rolling is no biggie now cos its all machine automated and can do around 75 - 100kg a day with ease πͺ problem for me now is I have a few recipes and tweaks i wanna try, it's just finding the time to try it, bit of a rabbit hole tbh π€£

Built some confidence using the slip d rig last year by catching a few fish on it π tying it with a stiff book section, I believe its the one Darrell peck uses? Still haven't got one on the bank using a spinner rig though π€£

I think it had reached a lot of people already mate, seen it on my feed by a few different groups and people are continuing to share it ππ I've got 2 hot water bottles in my hold all just incase it gets a bit too cold π seems to be a bit of thing now where people wanna be sat in a toasty bivvy only wearing shorts/t shirt while it's freezing outside π
-
Got my bait rolling setup complete, just need to get some ingredients in. In two minds whether to stick with my lt94 mix that has worked for me during the warmer months, or try a new recipe for a nut/milk mix π€ one of them with it being cold and the bites being less frequent, is it really the time to be trying a new mix or should I just stick with the current lt94 mix lol.

Sorry for your loss nick. It might be worth sharing this on places like Facebook etc as there's a lot of people flooding the carp groups asking about heaters and I'm sure a lot of them don't realise the dangers π

My local shop now has the korda kaizen greens in and got to have a feel of them today. Had a feel of the 12ft 3.5s and they feel mint. He was saying he can order me in the 12ft 6" rods or the 13ft rods in if I want them.. decisions π€£ probably gonna bite the bullet and go with the 13ft rods π

Takes me back to my teens, I got a season ticket for a small res that my neighbour would take me to, we must of done over hundred nights on it only for him to catch a hand full of fish and me only to have 1 small double figure carp and an eel π€£ It taught me to have some patience but yeah safe to say I didn't renew my ticket π€£

Sounds like a wicked bit of water mate, shame about the bailiff though, seems like a bit of a jobs worthπ Would it be possible to get the rules in writing so you can argue it? I would contact the club/owner while he's there and just state he's making up rules that are not in place π€ try not let him win and put you off fishing it mate, could be a fish of life time in there waiting to be caught π There's a common on my res that came out last the beginning on last year just over 37lb, after seeing pictures of it, that is my target fish now and I'm keen to get back up there πͺ my current pb of 33lb is from there, would be cool if I could catch it again this year, maybe at a bigger weight ππ€£

Do you ever get hooked on a water? Just spent a night at a local water and just had the feeling like I'm at the wrong place. Its not a bad water either, 4.5 acres, 250ish fish, few high doubles, lots of 20s and a few 30s. Makes a nice winter water really lol. Ever since I started fishing this 91 acre res, nothing seems to scratch the itch like that place and if I fish somewhere else, all I can think of is fishing the res π€¦ββοΈπ€£

It's surprising how big they actually are π€£ If its a 20 litre, any idea how much I can be putting in it roughly? Got pretty much all the equipment now, hopefully get the shed sorted out over the next few days and create some sort of line/system π€£

20 litre mixer π€ Wasn't prepared for how heavy it was, was hell of a task just getting it into the porch π€£π€£
-
Thanks for the replies π it's a 20 litre hobart mixer, I'm probably gonna go for it and if the paddle don't do the job I'll try and get a hook for it as they seem quite easy to source second hand π

Credit cards...fatal ππ€£ been grafting the last couple months and nearly got it cleared, Β£72.45 left to pay which will be cleared Friday πͺ Anyway, I'm still sorting a mixer for my bait rolling setup. Does anyone know if it needs to be a dough hook or would a paddle attachment work?

Sorry didn't read the post correctly π€£ -
I won't be happy until I'm out of someone else's rule and working for myself again. It sucks being a number but it's paying the bills while I get myself and a plan together π

I'm still using gear from my first setup my dad kitted me out with roughly 20 years ago. Still using the nash monster carp hold all. The shimano biomasters were my first set of pit reels my dad got me, theyve took a beating over the years and got retired earlier this year. These still feel mechanically sound, they could do with the bail arms replacing because they've sagged. Wychwood rod hold all 3 up 3 down got donated to a fishing charity last year. Still plenty of life in it, but would say its more suited to baitrunners than big pits. Had a trakker a lite which was my first bivvy last around 10+ years but gave it to a young angler on a local pond as he could do with a better one π My dad is a bit of a tackle collector and usually kept the stuff I out grew. He's still got the first carp rod I ever had, a Ron Thompson rod and reel combo, both still living π€£ My dad is actually using my old shimano baitrunners and fox warrior 2.75tc carp rods π Wychwood 5 season sleeping back, bought with my first set up and still going strong, gave it to my mate who is just getting into the sport and it still gets used every time he's out π I really need to get into my shed at some point and have a sort out, I've got some really old stuff buried in there, when I do I will post my findings π€£

They've been hot on it this year, when I got to the res the other month something was saying to me to check my license, which I did and had to renew. Couple hours later these two ea officers came round donning stab proof vests, handcuffs and what I think were battons π€£π€£ I had to ask out of curiosity if all that gear is needed, apparently there's been a rise in attacks against officers and they need it to protect themselves. I was pretty shocked about that tbh π€£
