  1. There's not much to report really, after the 24 this morning I've had countless doubles, I think im on 16 or 17 fish 🀣 I showed an angler the 33 I caught and he said its called "black spot" and is the one of the best looking commons in the res πŸ‘
  2. I use the same water it's soaked in mate πŸ‘the color afterwards is all the juices/oils etc, when I prep my particle to freeze I drain all the particles and put the liquid in a bottle to freeze as well, then when defrosting ill add it back πŸ‘
  3. It's going off this morning, 3 fish on the bank already, two low doubles and this 24lb 8oz common πŸ€™ I've just took a screen shot of it cos the file is 10mb πŸ‘
  4. All the best with your recovery pal, sounds awful.
  5. Put the rods back out this morning with a few spombs of bait and the right hand rod went off within minutes πŸ‘πŸ€£ low double, tried taking some pics but it wouldn't stay still 😬🀣
  6. Over the moon lads πŸ’ͺ gonna do another 24hr today, there's rain forecast and the bivvy is still wet, they give a sunny day tomorrow so makes sense to pack up then 🀣 dropped down to two rods, got 5kg of bait left so it's all good πŸ‘
  7. Thanks bud, it was a great buzz πŸ‘
  8. I've just had the best fight of my life, fish was kiting down the res from 100 yards out, it was a long slow plod towards me until about 40 yards, started going again, got it back to about 20 yards and it just went off, the rod went in half with it just charging off, it kept doing this for about 15 20 minutes, every time I gained some it just took off again, I didn't want to tighten the clutch anymore at risk of losing it and the rod was already going in half 🀣. I eventually got it into the net and straight away knew it was a chunk 🀣 33lb on the nose!!! Guys i am absolutely buzzing, my adrenaline is going and my hands are still shaking πŸ‘πŸ€£ I do have some photos on the dslr too, they came out acceptable to me but still can't get the focus correct. But it don't matter tbh I'm happy with my phone photos and can look back on them πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ fish has destroyed me 🀣🀣🀣 In the middle of the fight my second rod went off, then the third at the same time. Once the fish was in the sling I lifted into the second rod and connected to a fish, starting getting it back but it Bumped off, so drops that rod and lifts into the 3rd rod and landed a little common about 10lb All rods are out the water and I feel done in🀣 might have a chill tonight then get rods back out early with a fresh lot of bait πŸ‘
  9. 25lb πŸ‘ had this fish last session (one i posted for the first fish of the month) Bailiff took the photo so didn't set it up on the intervalometer and tripod, the focus isn't good but I don't mind, it made it onto the bank πŸ‘Š
  10. Just been having a look mate, there's no facial recognition but the focus mode is on af-a, I'm gonna try it on 'af-s' and see if it helps, apparently when using af-a, it can focus on the face more than anything. Trial abd error I suppose 🀣
  11. another one on the bank bringing it up to 6 fish πŸ‘
  12. I have that app as well, I'm sure it doesn't take pictures the same as using the built in camera app, like the quality is set on max but it doesn't seem as good as the standard camera photos πŸ€”
  13. Well had a stocky brace the net so perfect excuse to use the camera Next time I think if I lower the camera a bit it will be level with the fish bringing it into focus better πŸ‘ @yonny thanks for your advice mate I think I'll be taking some decent shots in the future πŸ‘
  14. 18lb πŸ‘Œ not the best shot I had someone take the photo instead of being on the tripod, with that it hasn't focused on the fish properly. I'm still happy with it tho, it's a memory πŸ€™πŸ€£ I'm gonna put some pegs in the swim in a bit and have one where the tripod goes and one where the cradle will go. Should be able to keep everything pretty centered like that πŸ‘ it's a learning curve but I'm sure I'll get there πŸ‘
  15. Wicked mate, It's took a lot of googling (don't have a manual) but got it set to your settings, I've had a little go but realised I had the single point to the bottom right instead of the middle πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈanyway it should be good to go, will test when it stops raining πŸ‘ Wader shot using your settings Happy days πŸ€™
  16. Okay thanks mate πŸ‘
  17. Didn't even notice that mate 🀣 I've got a nikon d5000 with a af-s nikkor 18-105mm lens yeah its in auto mode mate, i don't have a clue what im doing, ive only just managed to work out how to use the intervalometer πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£any help would be great thanks πŸ‘
  18. I will have a look and see what I can get πŸ‘ is 13ft a must? For the water I'm on at the moment I'm doing really well with big baits and I'd like to say I'm getting the bigger stamp of fish and avoiding the stockies and bream, so would like to keep things the same if I can πŸ‘ I will see what lines they in my tackle shop after my session and get something thinner πŸ‘
  19. 24lb 12oz, first time using my dslr, image quality is so clean lol
  20. Thanks for the replies, I expect fishing big snowman baits ain't helping either. I would like to fish up to 30 wraps. I will try changing mainline for the next session πŸ‘ Can anyone recommend some budget 3.5tc rods? I've been looking at the kiazen green rods, but heard they are the same blanks as daiwa black widows? I'd also be happy with second hand πŸ‘
  21. Off the mark with this one at 19lb 8oz. Wicked bite really, was having a brew watching some fish show to my right, 5 minutes later it went off πŸ€™

    New purchases

Hi mate I've got the temu version of the wolf spombs and they are wicked πŸ‘ they open pretty much every cast, I've only broke one but that was down to hitting a duck lol.
  23. My current setup is 3lb tc shimano tribal velocity rods paired with daiwa sportsmatic-x 5500, loaded with 15lb long chuck with a sublime tapered leader, I'm using 3.25oz - 3.5oz leads. I can get 25 wraps but I'm really to cast really hard to hit the clip, would it be worth going down to a braided shock leader as I'm sure it's the tapered leader hindering the cast as when there's a bit of side wind it starts pushing the lead with the wind and I lose distance? I'm looking at getting a set of 3.5lb tc rods for next year but is there any changes I can make while on the bank to make it a bit easier? I have a small spool of Gardner abrasion braided leader in 25lb but not if its likely to crack off? Any advice would be wicked πŸ‘
  24. Back on the res for a few nights πŸ€™
