  1. Thanks mate will just stick with the one I got then πŸ‘
  2. Thanks for the reply mate. Is there anything you would suggest for rough ground?
  3. Are the raised metal framed cradles safe for carp? I can't confirm but I'm sure I read somewhere about a fish having its tail snapped by being placed in one? I'm using a cradle that lays on the deck with padded walls at the moment but it's pack down size is massive, so would like a more compact one. I like the way the metal framed ones fold up. Any suggestions?

Thanks mate I will have a look. Been unloading the barrow completely and packing it all in the bivvy for the last 15 years or so.. Never thought about leaving stuff on there and covering it up πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£

Can anyone recommend a cheap barrow cover that is waterproof? πŸ€”
  6. Still undecided on which size roller, 14mm, 18mm or 20mm. I think the 18mm might be the best option. I fish a lot of waters with 20s because of bream but reckon I could get away with 18s. There's only 2 waters where I would use 14s, so was thinking if I get the 18 I could just roll 18mm dumbells or just crush them and trim the hook bait πŸ€”

I'm quite lucky they don't seem to bite me but they buzz around my head and it drives me mad🀣 there was a hatch when I was on a res last year and the bank sounded like white noise, they would just swam around you. I tried them yellow candles which didn't work. bivvy all shut up with the mesh panels and they still found a way in 🀣🀣 I do get done by them horse flies though, they give a gnarly bite for a fly!!! 😠 I'm just a bit worried about packing the bivvy down and leaving it in the car and the moisture damaging it while I'm working πŸ€”

For going light, have you ever used a shroud instead of a brolly/bivvy? Thinking of getting one for work nights as I have to be gone by 5am 🀣

Yeah mate can't fault them yet! The only issue is one of the spools is not a sportsmatic-x but an infinity, it works fine but doesn't match, it has a black ring around the top instead of gold and in my head it won't catch 🀣🀣 luckily I found someone on Facebook selling a set with a spare spool and he agreed to sale the spool separately for £33 posted (legend lol) Even though I haven't used them yet they feel solid and smooth. I also like you can get some upgrades for them lol.
  10. Thanks for all the replies πŸ‘I've got a few kg of standard frozen in the fridge so will get a few kg of jumbo, along with 25kg of hemp to prepare 🀣🀣
  11. Sorry if there's an obvious answer but are large tigernuts jumbo tigernuts or are they different again? I can find unprepared large tigers but not jumbo? πŸ€”πŸ€£

  13. Been looking at it for a while now, hopefully if it all goes well I should purchase in the next few weeks πŸ‘Œ will keep the thread updated if I do πŸ‘

Eyeing up these bad boys. Daiwa Sportsmatic 5500 BR, Β£250 for the set. Has anyone used these reels? Looking to replace the shimano biomasters lol Also just booked onto the same res as last year for 5 nights in April to help with the carp removal project again, buzzing for it πŸ‘Œ Thinking I will try a bit of a different a approach this time, instead of 3 on a baited spot, will put 2 on it with one a rod length or two off. See if I can get a bigger one. They are in there, it's just difficult getting through to them because of all the smaller ones, but will still be happy with anything. Hopefully a mirror or two again as well 🀣
  16. Has anyone used the company boilieroller for rolling machines & equipment? https://www.boilieroller.co.uk/ I was trying to get 16mm but they only do 15mm or 18mm so will settle for 15mm lol. Any information on quality etc if you've used them would be great, thanksπŸ‘

Anyone know where I can get a 16mm rolling machine? I can find 14mm and 18mm but not 16 πŸ€”
  19. Think this year I'm going to try and take that [censored] dog of mine fishing with me 🫣🀣
  20. Wonder how many drills and drill bits he goes through to make them πŸ€” I tried making one when I was younger but the drill I had was naff and gave up after 5 minutes 🀣🀣🀣 If you got a trago Mills near you I'm sure they stock stone weights in there πŸ‘
  21. I got the ridgemonkey armoury, its a bit of a beast but it fits everything in there. Also doubles up as a bivvy table when I put it on a bucket 🀣
  22. Quite enjoy using a spomb, some of reservoirs I fish I'll be putting 5kg+ of boilie out every 24 hours, even more if I'm using particles 🀣 I'm sure sometimes that spomb hitting the water is like a dinner bell because I've had quite a few takes while I'm baiting up πŸ€”πŸ€£
  23. Was using solar bobbins for years but I found them quite heavy, recently switched to fox stealth bobbins, they are much lighter. They are alright but don't look very carpy 🀣
  24. Personally I love them, had a set for years but swapped about a year ago to Gardner att silent alarms that only work with a receiver. I don't like them, don't like the rollers, the batteries are a pain in the ass to source from a shop, you have to order them online, you also have to unscrew 4 screws to get the back off to replace the battery. The receiver, well I didn't know how to turn off the vibrate setting and would nearly give me a hear attack when I'd get a run in the night 🀣 I've also missed the roller before and had the line sitting on top of it which didn't spin on the take, luckily I heard the clutch/drag lol. I believe I had a pair of fox warrior alarms as my first set which are still kept in the shed as a set if I take a friend with me. Still going strong just the led has stopped working on one of them so just need to make sure you are striking the right rod 🫣🀣 In my honest opinion delkims suit me best and will be going back to them when funds are available πŸ‘
  25. Yeah just had a look mate the 5000s have the little plastic clip but the 6000s have a round one πŸ‘ can also get replacements etc, so probably will end up getting 6000s soon. Just need to save a little first 🀣
