Well it's nearly time for my session, will be there on Sunday 👍 Got a chest freezer full of bait and have another 3 buckets soaking that will get cooked Saturday evening. Tonight I will be respooling reels, tying up rigs etc. Big shop tomorrow to buy some more gear and food 🤣

It's my dad's friend who does it, the problem was he couldn't turn the eml off and didn't want to repair the other stuff until he had it sorted because if it was an expensive fix I would of got rid of the car lol. Anyway it's all good, it passed yesterday and will pick it up after work 👍

Praying to the carp gods my car can be fixed before my trip on Sunday, it went in for mot today and failed. Repair immediately (major defects): Offside Headlamp aim too far to the right (4.1.2 (a)) Nearside Headlamp aim projected beam image is obviously incorrect (4.1.2 (c)) Engine MIL inoperative or indicates a malfunction (8.2.1.2 (h)) Offside Front Suspension arm ball joint excessively worn (5.3.4 (a) (i)) Nearside Front Tyre has a cut in excess of the requirements deep enough to reach the ply or cords 205/55R16 91H (5.2.3 (d) (i)) It's something to do with the emissions, don't quite understand it but they are going to have a look at it tomorrow. Eml keeps turning on and it won't get passed until they sort it out. Really hope they can get it sorted by Saturday or I got 2 options... don't go fishing or spend £249 and rent a van for a week 🤦♂️

Yeah good point mate, next time I will just rinse them off before hand lol
-
Yeah smells fine, boiled up and the seeds have split and released oil. I'm gonna be draining the liquid off and freezing it once its cooled down. Hopefully it will be alright 🤔next batch I'm gonna rinse the seeds off to start with, pretty sure it was mud/soil?

Gone for boiled tap water mate. Put my hemp seed soaking for 48 hours. Poured it into a pot to boil it... Water is brown? Never had this happen before, I'm going to assume its soil or something 🤔 is it bad?

Just had a reply from shimano, nope not happening 😒 I think some daiwa emblems might be on the horizon 🤔🤣

A bit gutted this morning, so my first set of big pit reels (shimano biomaster 8000 xta) that my dad bought me, gone through over 15 years of abuse are now obsolete and can't get the bail arms replaced, so now have no option to retire them soon. Been in contact with a few dealers who service reels and all have come back saying they can't be replaced 🫤

Ccmoore recommending bottled water lol Yeah mate I guess with it being a new water I was just over thinking things, I've used tap water loads of time and caught lol

It's going to be a busy week for me mate, I've got 5 x 10l buckets, to soak the first batch in for 48 hours, 1 hemp, 2 tigers and 2 maize. Going to grind away and try and cook the lot in one afternoon, then bag/freeze. Fill the buckets up again and repeat the process. I reckon 2 goes should use most of it up 🤔 going to try and find another pot as well, got an old pressure cooker floating around somewhere lol

Got me paranoid now as well, was about to put my bait soaking but gonna buy some bottled water tomorrow and use that instead 🤣
-
I read it the other day, trying to find it again but no luck lol. Something to do with the water being pure without chemicals etc 🤔 Never really noticed it myself, thanks for the advice if I do decide to do it I will try letting it sit before boiling but to be honest it all seems like a lot of faff. Probably will just use water straight from the kettle 🤣 Good point mate, I've always boiled it first then added it, only because my thinking is adding it in hot will help the particle absorb it better 🤔
-
Just a quick question really, always used hot water from the kettle to soak my particles before boiling. I was reading something online about using mineral water instead of tap water. Any thoughts on this? All my particles have now arrived and it's time to start preparing them, wondering if I should try mineral water instead 🤔 probably over thinking things again 🤣

So just a little update, used it for the first time on yesterday's session, right out the box it was loaded with 63% of battery, so I used it without trying the panels, will set it up later today and see how it charges with them 👍 The power pack itself is great, I charged my phone from roughly 15% to 85% twice and my vape from flat to full once, then charged the vape a again for a 2 bars, all its used is 10% of the battery. On my 5 day session starting next Sunday I will charge my laptop, phone and other stuff off it so will give another update then 👍 Overall im really impressed so far 😎

Wait until the morning it will look like a bombs gone off 😂

It's the camera making them look so far away, probably 12ft - 15ft between and the rods lol

This is my issue on a pond I fish, the trees droop out over and getting a lead in under is a right pain, you can see the rigs in the trees where other people have attempted. I've had a feel by sending the marker lead right under with the boat and dragging it back slowly and never got snagged. It just makes life easier and the fish in that pond seem to spook easy so using the boat is a massive advantage to me lol. What are peoples thoughts on using baiting poles?

Where do you draw the line though? You cast towards trees, rig ends up in the tree and snapped off leaving a baited rig/possible leader/line dangling from the tree which other wildlife could get caught in. Using a boat or even casting towards an island, fishing tight enough to it could result in the fish swimming into the roots and becoming snagged. I see using a boat as another tool in my inventory, and as long as you're using it responsibly I don't really see an issue.
