Interesting thread 🤣 I use sticks for most of my range fishing but have noticed they can be a little inaccurate. I was fishing at 120 yards, wrap up 30 times and clip up when the tip is next to the distance stick (might of worded that wrong 🤣) wind the line back onto the reel etc. Anyway I wasn't sure if I actually counted 30 wraps correctly, so I wrapped it back around the sticks again and noticed it was like 2 - 3ft off. I'm sure it was due to how tight/loose the line gets wrapped around the sticks. Has anyone else experienced this?

One of the cogs/wheels/gears or whatever they are called in the middle that makes it spin had shattered, its been put on a shelf for now hopefully fix it in the next few weeks 🤣

I'm not happy, I've dropped a reel while cleaning it and it's broke something inside, reel won't even spin now 😭 ffs 🤣🤣 On a good note I just booked me and my dad onto a lake for 24 hours next weekend 😀

Picked up 2 nash BP 6 reels for £40 😀 gonna pair them up with my 9ft dwarf rods 👍 Also bought 5kg of sticky krill 👍

I woke up in Friday morning with a cricked neck, rested in through out Friday and woke up Saturday with a stiff neck but it felt like it was on the mend. Decided to walk the dog. Dog lunged at a cat. Dog brang all that pain back from the cricked neck and it felt twice as bad!!!! I hate to admit it but I feel like my body isn't recovering like it used to 😂😂😂

It would cost a small fortune in my ford focus 😂 All the best though, hopefully you all have some cracking fish 👌

Discovery cx landing net mate, the net handle doesn't split 👍 my only gripe with it is the clip that holds the net up, but to be fair I've got this far with out using one so isn't really an issue 😂 I've got ngt 2 piece handle I bought years ago I use it with my 9ft rod set. Even though its done by ngt the quality of it is solid 👍

It's nice and light compared to what I already use. The clip that holds the net up is rubbish, doesn't hold it up at all just falls off as soon as I try clipping it in, i will probably remove the ring attached off the bottom of the net, looks like a guaranteed snag on the reservoir I fish 😂 The weigh sling is nice and so are the clothes 👌

Hi mate I got 2 2.75lb tc 9ft nash Dwarf rods and I love them. They are awesome little rods, I've paired them with nash bait runners loaded with 10lb daiwa sensor line. I use them for most of my carp fishing 👍 Heres a video on the basics of setting up a carp rod👍

So my local club has issued a ban on returning catfish caught on our canal. If you catch one it needs to retained, it will be removed and released into a local pond. Originally the idea was to have it killed, but I think a lot of the anglers kicked up a fuss about it hence now they moving them to a pond. My question is, how bad are these fish for our waters? We have otters killing fish all the time, cormorants putting holes in to fish. Boats and pollution releasing chemicals etc into the water. From my understanding the ea won't put anymore stock into the water until the catfish are removed. Are catfish really that bad to our waters?

I was thinking about buying a baiting pole myself but ended up getting a bait boat. It's the restriction of not being able to bait past 11m, so my spots would of been limited. If you want a cheap baiting pole I wouldn't bother faffing about with trying to make one, I would buy an old match pole off of gumtree or marketplace and convert the top section, I don't think it would be too hard 👍

Yeah I've been having this issue as well, but also on other sites. I'm not sure if it's on Google chrome's end, maybe their last patch/update has a few bugs in it 🤔 I've started using duck duck go browser for now 👍

So I've gone into the shed to start putting up some more racking, a bottle of squid liquid has cracked and leaked all over my gear and the floor. It happened a while back by the looks of it and has seeped into the fabrics 😭😭😭😭

This weather is looking good for a bite on the reservoir I fish 😆 anyone out this weekend?

Well the printer has arrived, got a couple lure molds designed, going to hopefully get it up and running today and start printing the molds off. Then just need to wait for the plastisol liquid and dyes to arrive so I can start making them 👍

It's not exactly fishing tackle but I've just ordered myself a saturn 2 3d printer so I can bring my fishing tackle ideas to life and get some prototypes made 👌

Sounds good 😆 the reservoir i fished last I was putting out about 1kg per rod per day 😆 spent a small fortune on bait over a couple months but it was well worth it, i had a really good go this year and had some cracking fish and a new pb 😁 I want to roll bait for next year so looking into getting a motorised roller/air dough gun and industrial mixer. There was a set on Facebook marketplace which was 2 rollers 20mm and 16mm, automatic cutter, a gun and mixer for £1000. Basically fill the gun up and its ready to roll 😂 Tried to get it but it was already sold 😂

I haven't been on the bank for a while but hoping to get out over the weekend, do you think they've started slowing down yet?

New weather front coming in tomorrow, low pressure, big winds and lots of rain. My last session was supposed to be my last for a while but I think it might be too good to miss. The reservoir I'm on can produce some big fish during storms 😆 checking the forecast I can get setup in the morning before it arrives 👍

My take on it is, a social is going with a mate or a couple mates or even meeting a few at the lake, all set up close to each other and you have a get together, food and a few bevvies. I do find certain types of waters attract a certain type of angler. There's a lake near me that if you ain't in their little circle, you are pretty much ignored. Usually over stocked puddles with big fish. Not my sort of water anyway lol The reservoir I'm fishing at the moment, everyone I've met has been friendly and helpful. We all share what we've caught, how many wraps, what bait, where any under water snags are etc. Trying to put each other on the fish.

Thanks mate I will keep an eye on them. My esp ones are in the post but picked up some korda sub line ones from a shop. I'm quite chuffed with them I'm now hitting 30 wraps with ease 👍 could probably go even further but I will lose all accuracy 😂 I do have question for anyone that does fish at distance. What is the best sort of rig to be using? At the moment I'm using a blowback rig with a 20mm/16mm snowman bait. Size 4 korda krank x hook with esp tungsten loaded semi stiff braid, about 9" long. It's what was doing the business at 20 wraps but wondering if I should use a stiffer boom section?
