Can't believe it. Had our first session planned for today and we couldn't go. Yesterday the dog had of snotty nose, today was worse so took her to the vets and it turns out shes got a respiratory infection. Weeks worth of antibiotics and tablets for her to do and lots of rest, hopefully get out for next weekend. What a downer, luckily though shes doing really well and isn't that ill except a runny nose and a bit of a cough, the vet we're luckily because it's only the infection has only just started so we're treating it before it was really bad.

Thought the same mate, not sure how true it is though lol. I'll let you know how it goes. Should be fine but sometimes she seems a bit possessed 😂

Strange isn't it. I remember someone saying it's because there's all different scents on the letters in his bag and it confuses the dog. who knows lol All went well last night, we can go fishing in 7 days time. Even got a small bedchair sorted for her 😂

Not giving me much hope mate 😂 I'm hoping because she's still young and if we go enough she will get used to it. She loves lying out on the back garden chilling so i just hope she's the same on the bank.. gonna take some chews and toys to keep her occupied (hopefully lol) We'll try some short sessions on the river and canal to start with so if it does go south we can just pack up and try again the next day lol.

My old dog used to have a thing for the postman, for some reason she would go crackers every time he opened the gate and if she was in the garden, he would leave the post on the gate lol. Funny though because he met her a few times and she was good as gold, just wanted attention, but didn't like him coming in the garden lol. The new pup is settling in great though, no more crying at night and no waking me up every few hours to go out. I fell victim to this according to the vet though. She would wake me up every morning at 4am, then again at 6am. I thought it was to be let out to go toilet, but the vet said shes doing it just to go out and there's no need to do it. So after a few nights of ignoring the 4am wake up call, she will sleep right through til 6am (when i get up) Vets tonight for the lepto 4 jab, probably have to wait a week or two for it to take full effect. Then I'll be able to take her fishing all the time.. few hours every night after work, can't wait Do you think it's best to take her for a few short sessions first before we go try night fishing?

Good luck if you do give it a go mate Nice mate hope you have a few, I might try for some carp too. I'm gonna start off float fishing for chub and smaller fish but really do fancy chucking out some bits of fish or meat and try and catch some eels. If that fails I'll be getting the carp rods out! Never tried freelining on a river before mate, might have to give it a go! I always remember watching matt hayes freeline slugs on a river for chub and he had some monsters from it. All this talk about fishing is making me wanna get out and do some lol!! If you get out and do some spinner fishing, good luck mate, have fun and like you say your dogs will love it too! lol

Anyone got any plans for when we're allowed to fish the rivers again? I'm itching to get down there with a pint of maggots and a float rod for a few hours. I'd like a decent chub this year too. I found a nice little spot last year that produced a lot of smaller ones so I'm gonna go back there this year and see if I can get one of the bigger ones. Not too worried if I don't have anything of a decent size, it's still really fun bagging up on small fish lol 😁

I can't wait to get back on the bank, all this nice weather is driving me nuts. If I'm not working I'm with the pooch. Which is fine but being stuck in side all the time isn't. Really is starting to take its toll 😂 I can finally start taking her walks this Wednesday coming. But still have to wait another 3 weeks until she goes back for the lepto 4 jab. I'm not sure if its a good idea to take her fishing until she's had the lepto 4 jab because most waters I know do have their fair share of rats lol. Did the indicator rise before the drop back? If it did could it be a carp swimming into the line resulting in moving the lead closer to you giving you the drop back? Just a thought anyway lol

Not 100% sure but I think the carp fishing is season ticket/syndicate mate. If you go let me know how it goes mate it looks a cracking place and would love to fish it some time

Okay mate I was a bit worried about putting too many in because their shelf life's and takes ages to break down, I put one in the margin a while back and it was still there good week or so after. I've got a kilo with me so I've just put half of it out and will put the other half out when I leave and will be back fishing tomorrow after work. I could always pop down before work and put some more in?

Yeah there's a big head of bream in here mate. Since I've been here I've put in another 20 or so baits, there's fish in the area though, I've heard 2 big splashes, not sure if it was carp, but it wasn't small fish 👍👍 Lots of movement on the surface, tempted to try a zig rig lol

Been baiting a spot on the canal with 20 boilies a day since Monday, gone down this afternoon for a few hours to see if I can catch anything. 2 rods out with one fishing with a 16mm boilie and a trimmed down 15mm popup on top. The other fishing a 16mm boilie with the sides shaved off with a grain of fake corn on top. Bait I'm using is Nash instant action pineapple crush. Lovely afternoon 👍👍

The fox easy mat looks pretty compact when packed away...thats judging by the pictures anyway lol. I've got one of them small roll up mats for stalking but feel guilty putting fish on it so I end up taking a giant cradle 😂😂

I uploaded a mat shot of a fish I caught on Saturday with no issues, then on Sunday when I tried to upload another one of a different fish it started giving me that error and na I haven't changed any settings on my phone recently either lol.

It's 2.7mb and saved as a .jpg file. I've tried a few different pictures from my phone but it's not having it, it's strange because it's never been a problem before lol. By the way the photos were taken from the camera on my phone if it helps lol

When I try uploading a photo I get "there was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200" Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

Thought I'd give an update, we're getting a blue staffy girl in 12 days time. I'll try and upload some pics of her later. Absolutely buzzing 😁

Having trouble uploading the photo for some reason. Managed 5 and lost 1 today, biggest being 19lb 5oz, a few doubles but didn't weigh the rest lol. Things are picking up 😁
