  1. Just had my stuff delivered..the centre pin reel, rig winders and catapults are great but the float rod is naff. Its all floppy but for £10 I didn't expect much. I'll give it a go anyway, might be alright lol. The other problem was they sent me two ground bait catapults when I ordered a boilie catapult and a groundbait catapult. I'm going to email them and see if I can get it sorted out
  2. Thanks mate and will do, just got it ordered now
  3. I've been trying to use a mortar gun recently and its been a nightmare, so I've been looking at getting myself a proper one. What do you think of this one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MEDIUM-BOILIE-MAKING-SAUSAGE-BAIT-CARP-FISHING-GUN-FUNNEL-10-30mm-/291854813088?hash=item43f3e707a0:g:hekAAOSw-itXvcMf I'm not looking to make loads, just the odd kilo every few months.
  4. Ok mate thanks, what hooklink do you recommend? Never used one when float fishing before, usually just fish straight through lol
  5. Thanks for the info mate I'm going to get some stick floats, split shots and hooks ordered now. I've got a spool of dinsmores syndicate 6lb 0.20mm line that I haven't used yet, would that be okay? The river I'll be fishing has some decent chub in and I fancy trying to catch one of them too
  6. Just ordered the marco cortesi centre pin for £25, never used a centre pin before but after watching a few videos it does look fun
  7. I was thinking the same, never heard of the brand before but do you think it's worth £25?
  8. How wide do you need it to be to put over the hook/knot? Its been that long since I bought any I can't remember the size I purchased
  9. I like to go as light as possible, but I think its down to where you're fishing..if I'm fishing a big open reservoir I'd take a brolly, but if I'm fishing a smaller lake I won't take one unless there's rain forecasted for that day
  10. My dad uses the Fox A pod, its a nice bit of kit and really sturdy. I use bank sticks but I've been looking at getting the Fox X pod.. But I see there's one of the same design for £50 cheaper done by sonik, so might have to get that one instead http://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/sonik-sks-black-rod-pod
  11. Thanks for this! Ended up using some thin coated garden wire, wrapped it around a baiting needle to make a spring and tied it on a hair. Going to test it out in a minute
  12. Great value for money mate been using diawa sensor for years for all my fishing
  13. Wouldn't a maggot feeder or a pill bottle be too big? Sorry for any confusion but I meant something like this
  14. Just made some cheese paste and was wondering if its possible to make your own paste cages or if theres a better way to use it? Any info would be great thanks
  15. Thanks for the replies, been reading some reviews and from what you guys say, I think I'll give them a miss. Is there anything similar you can recommend? I'm just looking for something easy to travel with on a push bike
  16. Has anyone here used one before? I'm thinking of getting a pair of 9ft 2.75lb t/c for the river. At the moment you can get them on eBay for about £40 each. Are they worth the money? Any info would be great thanks
  17. I use a basic hair rig for all my fishing, maybe with abit of shrink tubing. The braid I use for the rigs is sufix sheath skin and for hooks I use korda kurv shank size 8 barbless. I've had great results on all the lakes I fish and it works out really cheap as well lol
  18. Which size do you use? I've been watching a few videos and can't decide which size I should get lol
  19. On my smaller reels I use 10lb daiwa sensor and on my big pit reels I use 15 or 18lb daiwa sensor, its been that long since I last despooled I can't remember lol but its cheap and cheerful and does the job
  20. Great thanks mate, seriously thinking of getting one had a look mate and the cradle one is a bit out of my price range. Is the brand sonik good? Can get a sonik SKS cradle for £36
  21. Around £30 mate, I think that ones out of my price range lol Does it take up much room or does the it squash down mate? Looks decent though I think I'll be getting it
  22. I usually put mine in my bag but if its causing damage you could try a bit of PVC pipe mate put a cap on the bottom/top
  23. Can anyone recommend a decent mat that isn't very expensive? I've seen a few online done by abode and ngt, they look good but you don't really know until you see it in front of you lol thanks
