  1. I've decided to make a massive half pipe for my boy... cleared one of the bays in my barn & started getting it ready to start building . 16ft x 30 ft but will hopefully end up 20ft X 30ft ( timber dependent) lol . Did manage to get all the ply I needed Monday before the merchants shut there doors so that was lucky.
  2. Certainly mad times guys ... hope your all ok & managing the stress levels ! Still waiting for a package for the self employed from Boris until then still need to earn! Keeping well away from people & my commute is short with no interaction .
  3. Disgusting mate .... you see cases like this all to often . Guarantee if anyone dished out some local justice they would have been locked up for it !
  4. Another thing to remember is a lot of these otters are micro chipped.... I'm sure someone was done a few years back after dealing with an otter . Put it in the boot of his car to deal with the next day , but was caught after the otter was clocked doing 60mph down an A road , & then parked up for the night 😂
  5. I feel for your women gents ..... learn the art of control 😁 trust me far more important than any rig 😂
  6. Sad to hear muft .... hope it all gets sorted as painless as possible for you.
  7. After our initial work getting rid of existing fence lines & hedges that needed to go . It's just been to wet to get the big machines on the ground to do any major work. What did become clear when we were there is that we needed another section of land heading up the hill on the right hand boundry. There is a natural hump about 25 metres further up the hill which if incorporated would be the bank level on that side..... this would mean a lot less digging for 3/4 ers of the lake & really where the lake needs to naturally sit . Luckily the deals been done in principle , my colleague & mate just needs to do the deal on the price ! . Really good news though 😎
  8. No mate you need to make the most of Not wearing a hood ..... make it last for hours 😁💪😇
  9. Last time out in France... I moved 5 times you can only imagine the state of my tackle box & storage bags by the 5th move 🙄😁
  10. A mate I fish with counts his wraps back & forth is 1 wrap , we always have to check which one we are talking about when chatting about spots lol . Nige , years ago on a c.com social moved Andy's sticks a bit wider ..... very puzzled look as his sent his rig into the island 😂 Did you hit a caravan muft ? 👀
  11. That's him mate .... & completely agree lol
  12. One of the lads who cut his teeth on here works for carpology now .... if you give me the details of the article I can ask him for you via fb.
  13. Personally the safest way to fish thick weed is to have a boat to hand .... other wise your always needing a bit of luck & a lot of patience to extract a big weeded up fish from the bank, no matter what rig you choose.
  14. It's to do with the washer arrangement under the spool , if you look I should think you have multiple under there. Take some away to adjust the line lay . Think that's the right way around if not it's the other way lol 😁
  15. I first started catching them back in the 90's. Was fishing the Avon a few miles up stream from Tewkesbury, there were 3 of us that used to go fishing together & over a period of time made that stretch of river a great place to fish . We were feeder fishing most of the time & waggler , we started getting hits from preditors on a regular basis so stuck a lure on thinking it was pike or decent perch. First cast & what we all thought was going to be a big pike judging from the fight ended up being a 9lb zander . None of us even realised they were in the river . Was around the time that they were considered a pest & not to be put back. Turned out there were huge shoals of them out there . Started targeting them after this & a popped up dead bait was a great tactic wafting about 2ft off the bottom .
  16. Predictive text!!! Was messaging a mate who owns a brewery earlier today lol . Best of luck guys 😁
  17. Your not wrong.... let's hope a few of us can get to meet up this year. I'll have a chat with Mick when I see him next .
  18. I'll get the sticks out if there's anything really interesting... or leave a marker out before we fill it up . Will be pretty uniformed tbh though. Makes netting a lot easier in the future.
  19. Will be a pretty uniformed bottom, But There will be the odd thing to to take note of I'm sure , 😉 the spot within the spot 😁 Cheers guys .... started clearing the ground the last couple of days .
  20. Hopefully start a project with a mate that will see fishing local to me again , after everything local to me was wiped out by otters . Probably end up as a little syndi. Got to be dug first though! Good luck all for the season ahead & look forward to seeing the catches start rolling in 😎
  21. Nick, put some photos up years back of a pile of pellet that was dumped in the margin . Killed the lake bed as it rotted down , left in bare . Point being lots of items lobbed in lakes in high quantities have the ability to cause the effects you mention , if they weren't eaten or disturbed . Not a salt user myself so not trying to defend anything. Really good read so far 😎
