I must admit that I avoided GR60, for its breaking strain it was a very thick line (15lb was 0.40mm I think from memory), and compared to some other lines was expensive. With the price of the Pro-Carp I'm a lot happier putting my money that way now IT is a little thicker in diameter but were only talking fractions of a mm its how it performs that matters to me and it's never let me down and there's a few people I know that swear buy it including uk carp champions . But everyone has there favourite I guess thanks for your input though nick and will be keeping an eye on your bank side test of your new line. as i will need to change at some point.

I've heard that myself zammo, got a couple of GR60 bulk spools from my mates shop as he said it would be his last delivery but it wont last for ever , it's a shame is a very good line imo

I have been using insight GR60 line for years but i think they are fazing it out with some new versions taking its place , so will be interested in your findings Nick . Good work

Hi there you asked about Eastnor castle Very nice place to fish I was on there syndicate a few years back before my son was born , Ian the guy who runs it no longer has a waiting list , you have to phone him around the time of renewals and if your lucky you might get on there if some people dont renew if you would like his number i can pm you with it . all the best Phil.

I fished this lake before they took it on , and they have done nothing but ruin it , Rip out all the features and plant life which help the natural balance of the lake, and stick more and more pegs in , Its a real shame to hear about this there were some lovely fish in there. Not fished there since the BAA took it on had a look a few times and it was shoulder to shoulder with noddies

I once managed to push a baiting needle straight through a boilie into the fleshy part underneath your thumb went in 10mm or so! I was sat night fishing for barbel on the wye , tried to get it out but every time i pulled at it I went green and felt sick which my mates thought was rather funny the one didn't laugh quite as much when he had to take me to A&E . They had to push it through my thumb out the other side and cut the barb off . The nurse said they see it allot fisherman with different bits of tackle in-bedded in them so your not alone mate, all the best
