  1. You mention the chod .... would you put tubing on a chod ? Like Nige mentioned the right hook pattern would do away with the need for the tubing.
  2. do pop up rigs need turning capabilities? Could actually turn the wrong way in my eyes?
  3. and only all the football related radio since he signed Glad the gooners came out on top today. ... was it a good game ?
  4. You and your trilene. ... told you before, albright
  5. Hi mate .... I called in for a look on my way back from Maisemore apiaries a month or so back , got chatting to an angler and he said the same no bank sticks pods only . can't see myself ever fishing there to be honest to many silly rules + some of the anglers left a lot to be desired the guy I was talking to cracked off twice trying to cast a pva bag 50 yards ! Blamed everything but his technique which was the reason for the crack offs . It wasn't you was it
  6. Tim, I don't think it's that much of a problem. ... all you need to do is protect the hook point on the cast . Bag or stick , pub chuck fish on
  7. Afternoon, I reckon a bag or big stick will sit on top of what you describe quite nicely. It will give them something to home in on & protect the hook point & should present your rig fine .

Would it be wrong to say they would be nice roasted with a deep rich source & veg
  11. My go to rig when times are hard .
  12. Gary have you looked into cold adapted enzymes .... This could be the key to the nash key bait as it's a freezer bait. These enzymes are found in fish . have a look interesting reading .
  13. Managed a few nice mirrors out before Dave's lease was up ,best being a mid twenty . I did have a 17lb fully scaled out of the day ticket lake which was a cracking fish ... only fished it a couple of times when the syndicate was busy & as I wasn't a paying member didn't want to step on anyone's toes . pm on its way
  14. The enzymes carp use actually work at there best in water temps to high for the fish to live in . I can see why trying to incorporate enzymes into bait ( if the right ones ) could help with digestion . but as you say ,if as soon as there cast out the process stops is there any real benefit? Would not just using soft bait make things more easily digestible? Or say boilies that have been soaking in lake water for 24 hours , soft and swollen? That's why I think washed out bait can work... its not that's it's washed out but soft & swollen ?
  15. What you have to remember, and something I read about recently & found very interesting. Is the enzymes the fish use to brake down food and extract the nutrients only work at a low to satisfactory level in the water temps we have in this country. Hence why fish grow much bigger in warmer climates. So ask the question, do they actually get all the goodness your trying to supply them in your baits ?
  16. The owners not letting anyone fish it mate. ... I was fishing the syndicate lake for a bit free of charge, as I knew Dave who had the lease . The owner has done a lot of landscaping to that lake now and putting yurts around it for let . shame there were some good fish in the syndicate lake .
  17. I can't remember what he called it tbh .... but I know he was the only one importing it into the country for carp fishing. I wouldn't of put it past him calling it that though as there was a local saying around at that time which had something to do with "growlers "
  18. it was my mate jerry he couldn't import it quick enough
  19. I think tigers work because of the way they are prepared. .. Normally in a sweet talin of some sort , they also contain fatty acids , fats & vitamins which the carp might sniff out. I know someone who was importing tiger nut milk from Spain 15 years ago or more, and selling it into the carp world as a glug / additive I think they have more nutritional value than people give them credit for .
  20. Not sure it needs to be smooth. ... nothing wrong with a bit of texture in the finished product , or is it to make the rolling easier?
  21. Gary , I'm intrigued why you would taste a bait and if you don't like the taste think Mr carp would feel the same about it ? They taste & smell in a different way to us don't they ?
  22. It will hurt like hell / barely legal / I'll be gone before you wake up .... and I thought I was weird
  23. Turnip you have a pm mate . let me know what you think via pm nice one Phil
