  1. Good morning, I don't think a pop up will stand out to much and will give you the piece of mind the hook points not masked in any way , could also use pva be it bags or sticks to ensure your rigs are fishing. regarding the rig you mention sound like a combi rig but the other way around with the more supple material first rather than second, personally I think it would tangle badly if I've read what you mean correctly.
  2. Just had a look mate .... not sure looks like another case of inventing a rig for the sake of inventing rig .
  3. Let me get this straight does the pole elastic run through the entire length of the leader?
  4. Albright knot then ,like milky said .
  5. What material will you be using ? Main line braid or products like unleaded / pin down ?
  6. I'm currently really happy with the avid hooks I use mate ... but I'll take a look at the Krank next time I'm in a shop, gone off muggas for ever having to sharpen them !
  7. Thanks for the reply Em, makes more sense to me now as I googled these crank hooks to see what people were talking about ,and it was only showing chod versions . I'll have to take a look at the normal version as I am also a big Fan of fishing wafters . Thanks again
  8. Morning Em mate , are you using these hooks just for chods or other rigs ?
  9. Cm ,I only mentioned if he was fishing braid wondering if the lack of stretch and the fact he is really having to bully them , was exerting more pressure on the hook than with mono , certainly wasn't to wind up a grumpy old man.
  10. Just seen this Em.... crackers
  11. Not wanting to start a big debate again on the subject but am I right in thinking you fish braid mainline ? Or have I got you confused with someone else ? Also have you had a chat with fellow anglers on the lake to see if there experiencing similar issues ?
  12. Fishing can be ugly at times mate .... The fact that your considering your options speaks volumes and is all you can do , stick with the micro barb .
  13. So I take it the braid has slipped behind the eye where it bends round , and doesn't quite meet the back of the hook going down ? If your first rap of braid is always the other side of the hook this won't happen .
  14. Hi Phil ,I take it your rapping the braid away from the open part of the eye when you make your rigs ?
  15. I've heard a few people mention these ace hooks open up. I've been using the avid hooks, and I'm really impressed with them .Strong super sharp out of the pack and no need to keep touching them up with a file , they have remained sharp after a few sessions and fish .
  16. I think what normally happens hear dal, is you you just set up your hives permanently in the farmers crops . As you can't just pick up a hive and move it , the bees would return to where you took them from . I think I can remember reading that you can move the hive 3 ft a day without annoying the colony to much. Still a novice myself so could be wrong .
  17. We found the swarm in the spring ... got them settled in there new hive . I don't know how much you know about bee keeking Buzz , but you have the brood chamber where the queen does her sole job of laying eggs and the honey supers ( chambers) where you harvest your honey from . The queen is unable to enter the honey supers due to a grid with gaps to small for her to pass through, so she can't lay eggs in there . So when you get a new swarm the first job is to get the colony going in the brood chamber then you add the honey supers later..... We should get a fairly good crop in a few weeks , next year will be even better though . Really enjoying it if the truth be told
  18. Taxi for Tim Thought about it Andy but 60.0000 names is an awful lot lol
  19. Not exactly a pet I know, but after finding a swarm down our field in the spring have taken up bee keeking .
  20. Hi mate , I just googled him and found the website , but there are no prices on there . What sort of money are we talking ? unless he's allot cheaper personally I would go with cotswold rods . where are you based ? you can have a day down at cotswold rods trying blanks out and then they will make them to your spec taking in to consideration your height and build etc and what you need them for so you end up with a rod built just for you and your needs .
