  1. That's twice in less than a week on this forum I've read that it would be better if the Berlin Wall was still up Tim first now you cm ........ Ridiculous statement ! Try telling that to the millions upon millions of people it's benefited. No wonder it's so quiet on here these days with stupid statements like this being branded about . merry Xmas and good will to all men !
  2. Good morning, I don't think a pop up will stand out to much and will give you the piece of mind the hook points not masked in any way , could also use pva be it bags or sticks to ensure your rigs are fishing. regarding the rig you mention sound like a combi rig but the other way around with the more supple material first rather than second, personally I think it would tangle badly if I've read what you mean correctly.
  3. Just had a look mate .... not sure looks like another case of inventing a rig for the sake of inventing rig .
  4. Let me get this straight does the pole elastic run through the entire length of the leader?
  5. Albright knot then ,like milky said .
  6. What material will you be using ? Main line braid or products like unleaded / pin down ?
  7. I'm currently really happy with the avid hooks I use mate ... but I'll take a look at the Krank next time I'm in a shop, gone off muggas for ever having to sharpen them !
  8. Thanks for the reply Em, makes more sense to me now as I googled these crank hooks to see what people were talking about ,and it was only showing chod versions . I'll have to take a look at the normal version as I am also a big Fan of fishing wafters . Thanks again
  9. Morning Em mate , are you using these hooks just for chods or other rigs ?
  10. Trying to upload a photo and it's not having it !
  11. Could this be what your looking for ? , played an away cricket match here many years ago . Had a nose around like you do and there were a couple of carp anglers on .
  12. had a good day mate pleasure to meet you top bloke & great company . the venue was a bit of a let down the so called just over 3 acre specimen lake was just over an acre in size lol . and I was gutted when you lost what looked like a good fish and to no fault of your own , line got cut clean through on something sharp under the water ! I thought you did really well mate mastered the under arm flick to the margin spot where both your fish came from and confidently played the fish . and was pleased to show you how simple things can be rig wise ,especially for someone starting out . next time better venue first time out and you've got the one that got away story can't be bad . oh and lads once I actually got fishing, I didn't get a touch
  13. On my way to pick bigd up , hopefully show him the ropes and get him a few fish on the bank
  14. OK my friend will keep you posted .... oh by the way your favourite films on 5 USA on freeview , gorgeous George just got knocked out lol
  15. Thanks Ian ...will have a look when we go , might end up being next week now as I might have ho take the mother in law to Heathrow on Tuesday now. Will no more tomorrow , if it does end up being next week what day could you manage to get away ? Dion yeah just bring that bait , net and matt , I'll see you right for everything else your need & will obviously keep you in the loop if I have to do the airport run on Tuesday .
  16. Buy some sweetcorn and a big tin of spam , I'll get some hemp prepped for us . You say you only have starter kit, would you rather use that or shall I sort out some of my spare kit for you to use for the day ?
  17. If your asking if you need a licence then yes mate ... everyone needs to have a fishing licence to fish , we won't be going if you haven't got one .
  18. Sound mate just checking
  19. Bigd , have you got unhooking mat and net ?
  20. Do you mean bishops bowl Ian ?
  21. Tuesday it is then ... I'm off out now speak later .
  22. Shall we settle for there then fella ?... should be able to do midweek this coming week , got to finish the job I'm on then instead of going straight on to my next we'll have a days fishing
  23. Right mate , think the best we can do without driving miles for a short day session is orchard lake on the Arden lakes complex . not somewhere I would ever think of fishing normally but should be good for you to get a bend in the rod , and at least it's tree lined and got a bit of age to it + a few fish over 20lb to keep me interested . there's a ban on boilies so hemp & corn, spam and pellets are the order of the day .... what do you think ?
  24. Had a quick browse on the net bigd ... there are a few day ticket waters around your area ,but there holes in the ground and I was hoping to find something with a bit more character for us to fish , where we might actually need to use a bit of water craft to locate the fish . I've got a mate who lives out that way who's a good angler I'll get hold of him and see if he knows of any hidden gems for us to fish . Have you got any ideas mate yourself ?
