  1. Well I've had a good think about the rules, 1...barbed hooks only 2... rig checks Oh & no peanuts or people based in Northampton
  2. I'll have a think while at work today about what rules I might have . It's going to be an exclusive lake booking with accommodation setup ,and where I live hoping it will be somewhere non anglers will like to stay for a brake too .
  3. This is why I can't understand when people say dumping the lead on a chod / helicopter setups is safe . If you get snapped for some reason the lead needs to be there to aid the fish to pass up the main line and free itself from it all . The korda naked system is something i've started using and every time i've had a fish the top bead has gone during the fight . So in the event of a brake the lead sinks to the lake bed and the chod rig passes up & off the line . can't see how you can get much better than that tbh. I'm different to you though Gary as my chod is always set at least 3 ft up the line away from the lead to help it sink as slowly as possible and sit on top of the weed or what ever debris your fishing over .
  4. Good luck mate sounds good to me .... let's hope they haven't stunted with lack of different blood lines , it could go either way. I fished a old estate lake dug by capability brown. generations of neglect & lack of any sort of fishery management meant that the fish were literally carbon copies of each other and didn't grow to any size . but it could have record braking stunning old warriors in it .....the fun bits finding out
  5. Can't help you u'm afraid but I take it you have looked here :http://www.epsomas.net/cask/OurWaters/default.aspx
  6. thoughts are with you mate ... I'll never forget one of my best mates taken far to early probably 20 years ago now sad times mate .
  7. I'm not happy that an Essex bloke can do it and I can't You on your phone nm ? Android or iPhone?
  8. Still not having it mate thanks for your input ... maybe it's something that's been changed by admin ?
  9. Hello mate , yes on the phone. Didn't have to change anything when the site first changed ?
  10. How come we can't stick video clips up directly anymore , just seems to post the link ?
  11. perfectly legal information to get apparently, and something the sports media do alot this time of year , to give them a heads up who might be on there way . The flat looks over your ground to be lol
  12. Looking like your bf Sam is on his way .... called in the electric provider for a final meter reading on his flat .
  13. As it's at the back of your house I would regularly run a lure up and and down your little stretch too ,once you start prebaiting hemp & corn you will definitely attract silvers and the pike/ zander won't be far behind them . as mooseman says having a rake about is also a good tip will clear any unwanted snags or at least let you know if there are any to worry about. You won't get quite the same effect as he did from the boat but it will help in the long run .
  14. Personally wouldn't put any pellets or boilies in at first , you could just end up with a pile of rotting old bait right where you want to create your long term feeding spot . hemp & corn would be my first approach at least smaller species will feed on it and keep it fresh , this will attract local specimens to the area too . Once you've caught a carp or two then perhaps switch to boilies etc . good luck
  15. The record was broken recently for the Severn barbel further down stream. Severn Stoke was great years ago was devoid of fish after 07 floods but heard it's throwing a few up again now . I fish the Wye mostly these days when I go barbel fishing.
  16. the spot I let James know about isn't a barbel spot mate so probably not what your looking for anyway .... barbel wise give Severn Stoke a go If your going to be fishing BAA.
  17. Good on you mate spot on.... glad they produced for you. if your still fishing them might hold off telling these boys ?
  18. James It was me who put you on to those spots these lads might be joining you now lol
  19. couple of things the middle Severn isn't tidal the tidal range reaches up to Tewkesbury anything above that and your fine. Not that fishing the tidal part should put you off as there are big fish to be had below Tewkesbury. I know of a few spots that produce with some effort on your part ,if your interested pm me for some info
  20. I did 4 nights on St John's last year ... first time I had been to linear, and really enjoyed it on there all the anglers I met were enthusiastic and sound to talk to . Don't believe everything you hear gents , St John's, Manor , Hardwick & oxlease all hold some proper looking carp of course it's gets busy but thats because of the fish in these lakes . B 1 & 2 are a different kettle of fish and probably will never fish them personally. As for boilie choice baitworks make solid bait that will catch from the off and the matching pellets are awesome and well worth a look If I get a chance in between all the socials this year and Fishing Horseshoe I'll go back for another go hopefully at some point .
  21. All you have to do is buy a passport which last a year from date of purchase, at a cost of ten pounds , just so they have your details and can keep track of who's on the lake . then its a pound an hour to fish after that mate .
