  1. You can fish running leads that drop off so that would be my choice in the situation above if you were stuck on fishing running leads . Think they would work well in this situation you describe better than if casting into weedy area's where I wouldn't be convinced that the lead would eject, bringing the fish / lead into weed it should drop off on impact with the weed . Also I've used running leads on some of the countries fastest rivers with no issues as you can't fish them slack obviously because of the current.
  2. Yes mate a rubber bead of some sort does the trick
  3. I think the running set has the advantage of being able to be picked up from any direction. ... where the semi fixed lead can give it self away & be spat out if the fish is moving away from the lead & the hook length is straight.
  4. I like the running lead setup on some waters , but wouldn't dream of using it up Horseshoe where it can be very weedy . The last thing you need is the lead staying in one place as the fish moves off getting all weeded up & creating a second pivot point . I've caught some good fish on running leads so the hooking potential is very good but I personally don't use light leads in conjunction with it 2 3/4 oz minimum as you want the lead to stay still on the pick up . Will this be when your river fishing? Much of a current?
  5. There's loads of products that are just pants in certain circumstances, it's amazing the difference fishing in thick weed makes on your tackle choices & what's in your tackle box .
  6. I test any end tackle to destruction before I cast it out be it hook length material or hooks if it stands up to me a & two rig pullers I'm happy to cast it out . I'm surprised at just how many products are out there that give up way before you would expect them to. Hence me saying about these krank hooks being pants , also remember members recommending korda IQ years ago so I purchased some only for it to snap like a carrot & never cast it out . I reported back on that too & sure enough members started to say the same even after recommending it them selves.

  22. It looks that way mate .... not really looked at these alarms some good features though tbf . 160 a pop though so quite a big risk to take in buying them . What are the receiver options?
  23. Haven't Ace gone under ?
  24. Hi mooseman..... sounds like it's just the wheel and mag type of alarm rather than atts in particular. From fishing along side people with vibration sensitive alarms, from what I can see they nearly always have to turn the sensitivity right down anyway to negate false indication all the time . I personally haven't had any issues with my atts & had them 4/ 5 years now I use 4 mag wheels with mine . We all get done without knowing about it no matter what alarms we use . I wouldn't be swapping my atts for nash heard bad things about them .
