  1. not stripped mate , can't imagine you can krimp uncoated braid .
  2. I know the Hybrid stiff coated braid in 20lb will take a krimp, not sure about softer versions though . But the small krimp on this stuff works a treat. Been making up some pop up rigs for my session next week . I test my rigs to destruction before they get cast anywhere & I'm more than happy it's up to the job .
  3. I know it's always been a thought as a pro for slack lines , less chance of any vibration passing down the line . As you only have to swim underwater yourself to know what sound travels like & sounds like underwater. But far to many fish get caught on drum tight lines for me to take any notice of that personally.
  4. Where does this stack up with anglers like Julian cundiff, who actively fish for line bites with rods up high to help locate the fish ? As soon as he gets a line bite on the rod a baited rig is put right next to it so he obviously doesn't think they spook off it .
  5. Don't be daft snoozer.... century for sure
  6. Had some good results using 4-5 ft of tiger line for my chod fishing a season or so back on some tricky waters. And you certainly didn't have to replace it after a couple of fish . It was out lasting the mono behind it . If I use chods again at some point it will be with a length of tiger line with out doubt.
  7. Fair play mate .... probably the best review I've read on here in all the years I am eagerly awaiting for yonnies hooks to hit the shelves
  8. Saved a blank Nige
  9. Must be the day for Tench .... Nige is bagging up on them
  10. Be lucky.... anything showing?
  11. Gary have you had a look at the PB hit & hold system?
  12. Keep us posted on performance please mate
  13. Like I said I wouldn't care if you said it was good or bad , I test things myself.... I'm not the plonker here like Nige pointed out its distributed, not owned or branded .
  14. Tbh Nick I couldn't give two hoots what you say about it as I don't listen to what others say .... I test things my self & this line can with stand me giving it some proper stick with heavy leads & no leader . So no need to apologise!
  15. Tbh I could probably go further with it but that's what I was clipped up to mate . Did probably 30 or so cast the other night in my paddock not one cracked off so I'm confident in it .... That's coupled with one of the most powerful rods you can buy so it's getting some serious stick . There's no leaders allowed up Horseshoe so it's been a question of finding the right line that can cope with it but still get good distance & trust me I've been through a selection!
  16. Gary .... can understand your thinking but for 80 yards would of thought a 15 lb line would be more than adequate for bag fishing. Have a look at synergy in 15lb Nige put me on to it & I've been casting 4.5 ounce leads 160 yards with it straight through.
  17. Of the same thinking mate as usual.... plus the odd hook I mess up trying to get it just right it won't work out any dearer tbf . What made you aim at the curve as I know it's not a pattern you would normally use ?
  18. Looks a similar point profile I try to achieve when sharpening my hooks ...when I get it right! . Probably worth a closer look in my mind yonny.
  19. Washers under the spool is how it's adjusted. They must of changed the arrangement in the service.
  20. Apologies the fox impact spod / spomb
  21. Yes the xsplode Ian .... very light / sensitive catch on it. The wind picked up through out the day and It suddenly started opening mid flight. Never had an issue with the original spomb doing that.
  22. Well I got to use mine on Monday for the day.... now I have used the original spomb a lot & find the large one superb for getting bait out quick at range . So I write this review with a fair bit of experience of using these bits of kit . 1 - the xsplode doesn't hold as much bait as the spomb 2- doesn't retrieve anywhere near as well as the spomb 3- cast just as well maybe a touch better than the spomb but nothing in it really . 4- the catch is to sensitive and opens in flight when fishing into a good head wind 5 - slightest bit of bait anywhere but in side the xsplode and it won't shut unlike the spomb 6 thought it was louder & caused more disturbance than the spomb . So basically not as good as the original in my eyes & will be sticking the large spomb back on next time out
  23. Thanks Dal ... tried them but they were out of stock mate. Nige has sorted it for me now, thanks for looking though
  24. spot on mate, grab me two 1000 m spools if you could. I can load it on the day
