  1. James It was me who put you on to those spots these lads might be joining you now lol
  2. couple of things the middle Severn isn't tidal the tidal range reaches up to Tewkesbury anything above that and your fine. Not that fishing the tidal part should put you off as there are big fish to be had below Tewkesbury. I know of a few spots that produce with some effort on your part ,if your interested pm me for some info
  3. I did 4 nights on St John's last year ... first time I had been to linear, and really enjoyed it on there all the anglers I met were enthusiastic and sound to talk to . Don't believe everything you hear gents , St John's, Manor , Hardwick & oxlease all hold some proper looking carp of course it's gets busy but thats because of the fish in these lakes . B 1 & 2 are a different kettle of fish and probably will never fish them personally. As for boilie choice baitworks make solid bait that will catch from the off and the matching pellets are awesome and well worth a look If I get a chance in between all the socials this year and Fishing Horseshoe I'll go back for another go hopefully at some point .
  4. edit just realised your the zig man !
  5. All you have to do is buy a passport which last a year from date of purchase, at a cost of ten pounds , just so they have your details and can keep track of who's on the lake . then its a pound an hour to fish after that mate .
  6. As your in the area, have you considered Horseshoe for your session?
  7. If henmans hill is free on St John's, would definitely be worth a look . You only have to stand in the corner you cast across to for 10 mins and your see the fish going in and out . I might get to linear again this year enjoyed the 4 nights I did on there last year . I did hear they did a lot of weed clearance on manor the back end of last year and didn't fish well afterwards but should of settled back down now .
  8. Gomez Get Miles Later With Jools Holland:

  11. Never got the hole harry potter thing Dal
  12. Heard this track a few times didn't pick it was just drums and bass..... very Should really blow the dust off my drum kit and give it some stick !
  13. He he, glad it brought a smile to ya face
  14. I think your right Tim , someone jumped in after you I just went through the catch reports on your venue is this the guy ? Oh and keep ya chin up fella , I see it's all a bit stinky winky at the mo
  15. why not Tim if the fish are shouled up in one area it doesn't matter how big the lake is , Especially on a given day .
  16. Bound to be Ian... but I'm sure everyone is on about the one in Burcot and full of 30's , it did over ten thirties in a day this winter... which is mad !
  17. Dave_3 do you get up Horseshoe often ? Might catch you up there at some point fella
  18. Isn't pine pool on the Kingsbury water park out that way somewhere. ... Some lovely dark fish to try for in there and quite challenging from what I hear.
  19. Beware of the blythe witch, she's been mentioned on more than one occasion on here !
  20. One of main reasons for splicing any material is it's strength but also to allow any beads etc to pass over it with ease . I personally like the esp needles come in packs of 3 but you will break the odd one When using them . The Avid pin down and solar unleaded arn't to difficult to work with from my experience.
  21. Never to far away from a story about Nige fishing and dumping lol
  22. They look great bits of kit the Gopro cameras. Are you sure the biggest is only 4lb mark ? A couple of them look bigger than that .
  23. If you take away the need to book somewhere it would open up a lot more waters to choose from for you mate. Horseshoe is well worth a look stunning fish , challenging/ 65 acres ,so plenty of room and plenty of scope to move around the lake in the week . shower/ toilets shop just down the road . no idiots and secure. Also from what I can see it certainly pays to do long sessions on there , a guy I know on there does very well the second part of the week session and has some big hits because of it . food for thought anyway mate .
  24. Playing devils advocate a bit here ..... and just putting it out there . Could it not be the case that people who believe slack is better than tight for indication ,is solely down to the fact it doesn't show you when you get done by Mr carp as well as a tight line does . I got done yesterday on my low stock lake fishing tight with a big lead , all so fish semi slack a lot of the time and I questioned whether I would of got any indication if I had of been yesterday. It's a definite catch 22 both have there good points and bad . Who knows if I would of been fishing semi slack yesterday the fish might not of been so cautious and it might of screamed off . anyway all if's and buts .... do feel it cost me a big fish yesterday though .
  25. Think there was a double post by jimmboy so one was taken down , just happened to the one you replied on Ddgx. Your original post will probably be moved onto this one .
