Hi guys Having seen a trakker x trail Compact barrow, I was tempted by it, I liked the bags and the panniers on it, seems spacious sturdy and good and solid, anyone got one? https://www.trakkerproducts.com/uk/product/x-trail-compact-barrow I always thought I would buy another Mk2 carp porter but the price of them is putting me off tbh, because I would want some extra bits (I have some crossbar handles already though from my botched barrow fix) The fox one is occasionally on a good deal but usually similar to the Mk2, and I'm not convinced the fox one will be better than the trakker tbh, shall I bite the bullet and get the trakker? The reason I want one now is driving round the lake I've had a couple of punctures and I think being mobile may be an edge so I also want to reduce the amount of stuff I take,๐ฌ I think the trakker gives me enough scope to take a few extra bits if I need too, If you have any thoughts on this please help ๐

Better to have too much than too little, it might be best to get a lot in now as everything is going up, bait will probably follow

Sounds pretty good to me, don't see why it wouldn't be any good in the right place ๐

That's good to hear Mate, really pleased she's doing well and everything is positive, hopefully you will all be able to relax a little now and get back to some sort of normality

If you can stretch to these they are lovely rods for the money, I have the 3.25lb and so far they seem good to use, I haven't caught using them yet though๐ but these TT ones have nice minima guides and look smart they seem well made and should last me a long time https://www.total-fishing-tackle.com/daiwa-crosscast-carp-rod-tt -
My kids have got the okuma vibe rods and reels, 6ft small with little reels on(that actually work well and smooth) , great fun, I've taken the family rudd bashing a couple of times, my youngest seems keen to go Infact we are discussing doing some nights this summer ๐

That smell is bad enough when you've had to net one, wouldn't fancy sleeping on it ๐คฎ

No chance I am going bareback in the height of summer with all them Mozzies about, I would come home looking like I had fallen in stinging nettles again ๐ and definately need a bed too, my bed only weighs 7.5kg and is worth the weight in my opinion I've been spoilt by being able to park at the swim for the last couple of years, and my toot level has grown massively because of it, I keep thinking about getting a new barrow and fining all my kit down to fish off that but it hasn't happened yet, I should as there is a lot of mileage in being more mobile

I use a Ronnie rig with a leadclip set up, personally I will use a lead clip as often as I can, the only time I use a helicopter set up is if I need to chuck a chod into rough spots, I also never used to like dropping leads but now I much prefer to tbh, the lake I fish is weedy and the cost of a lead isn't worth the pain of losing a biggun (that hurts way more)

I had some wychwood c101s and they were alright to be fair til I broke one of the eyes, I have diawa crosscast tt now I think I prefer them so far but the extremis are more expensive than the c101 was but they didn't really let me down, If you want a decent big pit reel on a reasonable budget, I can heartily recommend the okuma 8k it's amazing for the price

Funny you should say that I saw a kingfisher this morning, I looked in the mirror ๐๐๐๐ I actually did see one this morning though in real life ๐ณ

Blank from me, had lots of new bits lately so it's to be expected, don't think many have been catching though, sent the Jolly Roger out on its maiden voyage, Had a couple of issues with a sticking trap door but once I got that sorted it was fine(dryish mix required and don't put gooed up solid bags directly on it ๐) bit slow but for ยฃ100 it will do the job, otherwise was nice to be out had a chicken jalfrezi and a beer, slept fairly well, was plenty warm enough in my navitas onesie, got woken up by a duck fight at 6:20 and I had bacon rolls for breakfast ๐ Home now ๐
-
I am actually going once I finish my chores lol, just got to walk the dogs load up the motor and go now and shop on the way , should be there by 1 or so, not sorted anything out yet though other than bait ๐ฌ
-
Best wishes from me, hope it all goes well ๐ And good luck if you do get out Highy, All my bait came today, 6l of lovely liquid and 15kg of lovely boilies, now have a nicely stocked freezer again, I have asked the question about going Saturday night but that's been largely ignored as of yet just waiting to find a good time to ask again ๐ I still haven't tested the boat out ๐ณ

Starmer has already pinned the tail on the nato donkey tbh, the fact that Corbyn has been smeared until he had the whip removed and isn't even a labour MP anymore makes me doubt he would get another chance unless the forde enquiry changes that significantly, tbh they wouldn't want Corbyn because he has morals, they need someone bent like the Johnson
-
Throw enough of them you can make your own gravel spot ๐

We will see, they seem to want to keep pushing the big lies, nothing will change when it comes to the oligarchs they help fund the tory party
-
I saw these a few times and also loved the academy, saw some mega bands and had some great nights there, Now it seems the media and the goverment seem to want to push us into a war with Russia for no good reason I keep thinking of this one.

Good luck, hope you get one

Anyone got any reviews on crafty catcher retro baits
elmoputney replied to Carp123_0's topic in UK Bait and Bait Making
If you wanted to try a new bait retro baits Bio comes in shelf life, I used the freezer bait last year and found it worked very instantly, had a couple of really quick bites within minutes of it being in the water, it's a very different and unique bait, smells lovely and works well in my opinion,I even had a couple of red letter sessions so I would use it with confidence anyway ๐ -

I keep thinking about shorter rods for those times when you just think they would be handy ๐ and when I do I always think Inc6000 to go with them tbh, I am pretty sure they will be decent
