  1. Dinkle incoming, he only went through one rod today that's progress.
  2. My view from the scratcher, it's pretty rainy, been solid for the last couple of hours, should be a gap at 8am when I will start the pack down ready to go back to work. I was pretty efficient last night rods all out nicely by midnight all got a donk. Asleep by 1, now I am just hoping I find a carp stupid enough to spring the traps. Left rod is the fix boilies whole and chops with squid 2t pop up, Middle is a solid bag with tigers and a few boilies the right hand rod is reaper nut mix whole nd chops and match the hatch pop up. I'm giving them options and so far they re turning there noses up at all of em 😂
  3. I am working til 10pm if it helps and will start work tomorrow at 10am just a v quick overnighter but I won't catch em at home. It's pretty busy again so I've just heard but I did bait a spot last week that is free so it may be a slot in and hope Job tonight,🙄
  4. Well my car is loaded just got to do the shopping and you work thing now. Bit tempted by a sneaky half day not gonna lie
  5. Great bit o kit, looks perfect for getting about quick, good luck.
  6. The French are certainly better at opposing poor goverment decisions though, the goverment and their task force lobby groups here make us all just argue against each other to maintain the status quo. It seems to be working for them because they literally get away with murder. Corbyn got too close and rattled them though they still love to smear him and the left everyday, If I am ever in the position to seriously consider it I would do the research and find what needs to be done.it would be more a catalyst than a deterrent, But it also depends if I have any human rights left by then 🙄
  7. Ha ha you saw that then jeez never felt more ashamed we are becoming a fascist backward hole of a country, the pub in question has been removed from the good pub guide turns out the landlord was connected to racist group Britain first. Would be nice, I believe brexit has made it harder for us to become ex pats now though. The lake owner last year saying he bought just at the right time before the rules completely changed and it would be much harder for him now.
  8. Time for a little update lol,. Basically since last year I've been blanking my ass off. Been tough to get in the "going swims" so I've decided I am just gonna do my own thing this year, nothing revolutionary, I'm going to just use boilies again and try and Trickle them in whenever I can in various quiet areas, I've been faffing with particles and other bits and bobs for too long. My plan is literally going to be a mix of whole and halved boilies, if I am using the boat Im going to drop a few whole baits but mainly chops so they spread a bit further and hopefully they will flutter down and settle over any weed or anything rather than just sinking into it, then spread some wider around the area to get them moving between mouthfuls, then 3 well placed Ronnie's on heli safes should be pretty robust wherever they fall and I will catch one maybe 😂 simple but I have confidence in it. That's the plan I'm doing a late night after work tomorrow and I am going to try to visit on the way to work to see who's where and try and Trickle a bit in if I can but only if I get my chores done and the car loaded in time 🙄 Wish me luck,
  9. How big are the fish likely to be? I rarely use anything less than a 4 tbh, I've done quite a bit of hit n hold fishing in the last few years and you need a strong hook (korda X range have never let me down yet and Gardner muggas are pretty hardcore ) , be on the rods, don't give em an inch, walk back as soon as you pick up the rod, and the one gamechanging thing for me was DROPPING LEADS, I lost a few gooduns before I bit the bullet(i am still haunted by the big common I lost) and now tail rubber is always on loose the fish just get higher in the water quicker and they are less likely to get nose deep in weed for the sake of 80p or whatever its well worth it in my book.
  10. I think I went with the view it wasn't going to be too tricky and then didn't really take it seriously enough. I caught a few but probably should've taken my A game and worked a lot harder. Take the baits you are confident in and use what normally works for you but check venue rules as they can have some strange ones and they might not like you using certain baits. I did enjoy it though but it was also a family holiday so had to juggle a lot. French roads are great to drive on. The venue I fished was quite hard to find tbh. So make sure the sat nav will find the venue. I went back to disneyland this year and I have to say I love France now. The tunnel crossing is brilliant, Can't wait to go back. You need a car travel kit with beam deflectors, a high viz and warning triangle, and a UK sign. Supermarkets are pretty good tbh, nice food is available the breads cheese and pastries are amazing. We had that most lunchtimes lol, depending on when you are going Mozzie repellant, sun cream and a hat, Most of all enjoy it Hope this helps
  11. I managed to bend my old distance sticks last week, so I bought some NGT DELUXE ones for £12 have to say they are pretty good for the price seem solid aluminium have cnc cut bits in them, slimline (standard pencil thickness) not a bad set of sticks for the money.
  12. Now tested to 21 wraps and it does work a lot better If you have a deeper it's worth the £35 quid, I've been using it without a case plugged into a powerbank just sitting on a bucket this weekend and still works fine
  13. Thanks I didn't choose to put a bouncy castle fun place near the fishing shop or an angling direct near the toy shop, it's just a coincidence, one has opened near my mum too and there is another one near work, I guess you could say I'm just lucky or they are trying to make me spend all my money in them and putting them in convenient locations to get me 😬
  14. I've just glugged some up for tomorrow, ooosh they smell nice
  15. Thanks went to another shop and bought some more goodies to celebrate, got some innovate baits match the hatch pop ups and glugs x2 reaper nut mix and the fix, Hemp oil, multi rig tool some small Pva bags and another bucket 😂
  16. Well it's my getting older day today and I got the best gift possible, fishing tackle shop vouchers 😍 I've taken the kids to inflatabounce and luckily for me the tackle shop is just over the road. I treated myself to a Gardner GTN landing net, and some particles for tomorrow. Still came out with change too nice, I was concerned I didn't manage to spend it all but it means I can try again another day 😂
  17. I leave the lid on just incase of mice or anything, If I was defrosting I would add just one or two cups of boiling water to frozen then add liquids to that give them a good shake let it all soak in for 24 hours and you have nice washed out baits oozing with liquid goodness, I found they absorb liquids quicker if it is was thinner, there are plenty of other liquids that are thinner though you could try which would be a good thing, bottled water can be used in place of lake water too If you have plenty of time in advance I would just add a bit shake it up and keep adding a little more each day then maybe finish off with a dusting of powders or stick mix. Ps I like my baits to be quite soft as I only do short sessions I want them to appear like they've been out there for a while, you can also add some pellets to soak up any excess liquid
  18. Thanks The 2nd one is the one I have for my phone, I actually went out to have a play with the range extender tonight, after a couple of teething troubles, I took it out the case tightened the antenna a bit more and it seemed to work much better, need to drill the holes out to push the antenna through but I did find a cracking looking spot which could be reached from a couple of swims, not sure it will reach 300m but it will definately go far enough for most of the situations I will find myself in,
  19. Hi mate, sorry i missed your write up and plans, but wow brilliant read and great effort and attention to detail. Really made me think I needed to up my game a little. I think I've been getting into a bit of a rut and going through the motions, i need to get another plan together. But you just reminded me it's possible. I'm really pleased for you though what a cracker to finish on as well, I'm sure you will smash the next venue too. Keep us posted,
  20. Korda one seems to work quite well so far, bought some korda durakord, that seems to be nice and easy to splice I made a few up today without any fuss
  21. Do you mean a thread like the Gardner camera adaptor so it would be like a bankstick conversion? Only downside if so would be I would then need another storm pole or camera tripod as the box is already attached to one, although to be fair I do always have my tripod in the rod bag and it doesn't get used very often, probably rusty Infact it hasn't been out so long 😂
  22. Just solved the phone /tablet holder issue rather than another bodge job 😂 this should attach itself nicely to the storm pole and stay put
  23. They have got more money than me 😂
  24. As long as it works properly 😂 I spent £35 quid for the range extender, the deeper one is about £170 I think, there are alternatives but mainly they are about £100 ish so hopefully it's a saving, I'm waiting for a bait boat mount from frameys mate at the minute, then I can properly test it out
