    That bottle might split when that turns to ice, I've put a couple of water bottles in the freezer to cool before and forgotten to take them out, it doesn't end well usually, I had a metal one and where the ice expanded it ripped a gash out of the metal bottle.

    Okuma all the way then mate, my 8k have never missed a beat in the whole time I've had them, I dropped one in the pond still smooth as a baby's backside.

    I would look at those too, i have a shimano baitrunner and I don't like it, poor line lay and I really don't like the double handles, feels a bit like a toy to me.

    I've found sonar can be misleading, especially if I have already baited a spot, I've found clear spots that I know are clear, that look like they are right to the top with weed, I've decided that's the pesky rudd now though. not happy with eating all the bait, they are also mimicking weed. Like you say though I need a drop and also prefer to cast. If I don't get It drop it gets redone.

    I always soak mine in cold water straight from the tap, that seems overkill to me putting it in perrier, by the time it's boiled and all the other stinky winky is added it's been sterilised anyway.

    Glad you got it sorted, hopefully it will work everytime now, mine has been fine since I got it set up. And yes compared to the price of a deeper range extender great value for money.
