  1. I've bought some NGT spod braid a korda SLR marker float and some korda marker elastic since I've been home. Any prizes for guessing what happened? I hit my bait boat at about 20 wraps, I bet I couldn't do it again if I tried but that didn't do the damage. But what did the damage was when I went for the biggun and my aerlex bail arm decided to close by itself. It does this usually at least once a session, it's a silly bailarm.
  2. So do I normally 😂 I've repacked my bag now I am home and put a new one in 👍
  3. I bet you still have gas though, mine is just an ornament 😭
  4. I treated myself to a carp life kettle last week, shame I've just run out of gas and forgot to pack a spare so cannot use it anymore 😂
  5. Banned on my lakes too. Someone must have been using one because I had to get this in this morning
  6. Been here since 9am got the rods out at 5pm it was a work party day 😲 We cleared lots of trees and I also cleared some weed out of another swim,
  7. I did have a little moment today where I thought what if it really is an edge and tried to work out where to get one on the way home lol, luckily actually going to a shop hasn't worked out for me, And I've now thought, I'm quite happy with my rigs these days. I am still using the same booms, I've caught all my fish on this year. I'm trying new leaders this weekend, if they work out ok I will have a nice and stealthy set up that doesn't cost the earth. Will be interesting to see if anyone starts catching loads on them though. But yes my main concern with it is that it could be an extra danger if you get snapped up or, have a crack off or something then it could be trailing a mini weed rake. And losing one at a fiver a pop would make me really sad. Is it a lot worse than things like adjustable zig floats, or lead clips that have tail rubbers pushed on too far. Maybe /maybe not but I guess if there are issues it will come down to human error and them not being used in a safe situation. Time will tell
  8. Can't believe this hasn't got it's own thread yet? Thoughts? £5 each for that reason alone I'm out. 😂
  9. Been bait and bathroom shopping this afternoon. I enjoyed bait shopping more 😂 I am going all in on the reaper nut mix this autumn, 5kg of each size 14mm,16mm,18mm,20mm Glugs, stick mix and some Rudd proof hard hookers 😉
  10. Now you are just being greedy 😂 Well done cracking session, lovely red letter day for you
  11. Well done mate, lovely result and a cracker too. No stopping you now 👍
  12. Thanks I wasn't sure i also get confused, I just saw jump lead clips and thought they would need a battery 👍
  13. do you not then need a car battery to run it off also with these?
  14. Feed em off with particles mate or wait til night time to bait up, or just fish the deepest part of the lake where they will bother you less. Even if they can't eat them they will still move them about because they are scum 😂 I am awake at this time of night because the smoke alarm started going off, it was full of water from the bathroom. Oh the joys of being a grown up.
  15. Be rude not too mate, tight lines with good line lay old bean.
  16. I think if I needed to use my barrow more often I would look at those tbh. Seems quite a luxury though as I don't use one at the moment as I can mainly drive to the swim
  17. I think it will be fine reviews are all fairly positive tbh, if not I have another spool of gt80+ in stock, thats been good for the last year or so,
  18. Nothing but the best line lay with an 8k. Seriously though they are amazing reels, certainly the best ones I've ever owned shimano who?
  19. Respooled my reels and have added 3 new avid snag leaders, 2 with lead clips and one with a heli safe, all about a meter and a half or so, well pleased with my set up now. Laid them out on the fake grass and I couldn't see them. Just need to get fishing again now 😲
  20. Katran wild carp camo line installed. Looks nice I think, went on like a dream, next test is what does it cast and fish like. I have a feeling I'm going to like it but the proof is in the pudding.
  21. Range extender and the phone holder does seem to work quite well the Deeper doesn't cut out half as much tbh, and much better value than the Deeper range extender tbh
  22. That make sense Nick thanks, my usual leaders are normally just over a metre ish tbh and I never really need to go extreme distances at the moment, so I might just stick to that and it's also cheaper 😉 I've decided a grinner knot is good for tying swivels or (hybrid lead clips)or whatever too, I'm not a massive fan of helicopter set ups usually tbh, but there is a time when they are handy for presentation, like right now when the weed is right up to the lid and finding spots can be tricky. Because it comes on 100m spools though, I can chop and change it as required thanks,
  23. I've been having a play with the avid outline Mono camo snag leader I bought, and I've found a knot I am happy with the uni knot, I've tested it and it doesn't slip I made a big loop with two uni knots and the 12lb hydrotuff I used snapped before the knots (pulling for a break is extreme though and I do use stronger Mainline) but should I just use it in lengths of say a meter or lengths like you would a shock leader which I have seen some use (4-5 turns on the reel and half the drop) I am going to be using low stretch katran line once I respool and was thinking helisafe set up so I could have a chuck anywhere set up What are your thoughts please?
  24. She quite liked seeing it , she has caught them in a Disney game on her Nintendo switch so she enjoyed seeing one IRL,
