  1. Is this idea a little bit clever ? I've had time to think this week, and I saw a post on fb about B & M doing a rip off korda kontainers being a couple of quid cheaper, fast forward to now and my brain has gone full throttle and after a bit of searching on the Internet, I've found a set of tubs that will also fit 17l buckets in 3 or so sizes and in bulk (16 or 24 tubs) I thought I could use them to freeze prepped particles in, small ones for tigers, medium for maize or other bigger items and large for a mix of seeds for the base of the spod mix I would also use a large one for boilies and another for chops and probably one for pellets, I've noticed a bit lately I seem to carry too many buckets regularly loading 4 or 5 into the car, not too bad if I can drive to the swim but would be nice to reduce that to 1or 2 but it would also be a good way to have easy grab pre prepped particles, I also think this may make me use less bait because all too often I bring loads home or I've possibly used too much 😂 What do you think?
  2. Peach and garlic works quite well together I've found
  3. I watched that whilst at work yesterday, was a couple of very enjoyable tea breaks 👍
  4. Thanks for that. it is coming from AA baits who I haven't ever used before but seem to have been around for a while. So hopefully it will be fresher than a shop bought one. But something to bear in mind 👍
  5. Just taken the plunge and bought some bits and bobs to make some wafters 😯 Fluoro pink wafter mix Minamino Banoffee flavour Premium attract+ powder mix Liquid preservative Active CSL (freebie) I also have a few other bits I may or may not use like a butterscotch sweetener, milk B, liver powder, Is that a decent start? I am thinking top 5 ingredients at recommended levels to start and maybe milk B + to make it smell deliciously creamy 😲😍 How does that sound for starters?
  6. No thanks 😂 I've also got some black shiny pinies, can't help thinking these will be good, I'm going to be getting a little Creative with some hookbaits as I've got some powders and glug pots incoming too. Liver, Krill and a nut mix powder, I just need to find a couple of liquids and it will be full on nutty professor at Elmo towers 😂
  7. Just added a wintery twist to some pink squid 2t pop ups, white squid supreme and moonshine goo, so kind of like a whisky squid innit 😲😎
  8. I've got the xl granite edition one, I've had a smaller one before, I like the extra girth of the XL though a much better all rounder
  9. Rare Clonker as Wilson would say, came in with a weed berg singing eye of the tigers.
  10. My thought of the day, why did I forget my hookbait bucket, I've had to use bottom baits with plastic an old dry wafter and a corked double tiger nut, worst thing to forget ever, I am also using leftover particles from the social it has white stuff on it and smells like moonshine. Going well so far.
  11. Casting is gonna have to wait the 6 wrap kid is in town, I know boring but you ain't gonna catch if you ain't on em, and I have seen some signs. I did try all fingers abive the reel though, even at short range it felt pretty decent, one to continue with
  12. I've been using 0.40mm Gardner gt80+ but I've recently switched to a 0.37mm katran line which seems to have helped, due to the weed and stuff I can't really go a lot thinner so not ideal casting line but an improvement and it seems to have helped, leads 3.5oz or 4oz dumpy distance on leadclips usually
  13. I'm going today now so I will let you know how I get on, 👍
  14. I have watched some of his vids and they do seem to help tbh, next thing I need to learn to adjust is my hands I need to put one more finger the front side of the reel, I've enquired about going today, my boat isn't charged so I may just go manual for once and use the spod/leading rod to the max 😲
  15. At least it is not just me, I can just about get them100yds with no shock leader maybe I Do need some bigger rods 😂
  16. I am building up to need a cast to the moon set I think. But then I also think is it my rods holding me back or Just me holding me back 😂 I know some people could cast my rods much further than I do but should I just keep trying or just get some beefier rods and hope that makes up the extra required distance, I haven't reached for the shock leader yet on my rods, I can get the distance on my spod rod with shock leader easier so maybe that's what I need first.
  17. Daiwa crosscast have quite a nice fish playing action they do them in a 12ft 3lb tc I believe, I use 3.25lb and I can't remember losing many since I've switched to them. They are a nice slim blank. And feel quality for the money, mine are a special edition total fishing tackle version that you cannot get now but the crosscast traditional seems to have a similar spec and Cork handles which look pretty nice 👍
  18. I had one of those but couldn't get enough stuff in it was pretty good though, I now have a korda tackle box much better size for all the toot I think I need to take bit in reality seldom use whilst fishing 😂 They also do a big one which I bought but that wasn't good. Brew kit bag is a useful lil bag I keep my camera and lights and powerbank type stuff in it.
  19. I had my rod tip high last time i was fishing up to the pads, seemed to work really well tbh, I've tried various rod positions over the years but for this situation that is the best set up I've found, the fish never found the pads at all and it's easier to grab the rod so I could just walk straight back, the battle was fairly straightforward after that. This was on the end
  20. Basically when you fish tight to snags or features, you need to stay close to your rods and fish with a tight line so the fish can't escape into the snags, or when you put your bait boat right under a tree 😳
  21. You are right they aren't a budget rod. Nearly £600 each now, https://johnsonrosstackle.co.uk/century-carp-rods/21509-century-c2-sp-command-control-carp-rods.html#/12223,choose,12ft-3lb-6oz
  22. Bags are OK but actually the distance sticks the deluxe ones £12 are brilliant, they come with a 12ft cord FYI
  23. I use 12ft 3.25lb and don't find them too stiff, I don't feel like new rods are as broomsticky as they used to be, if you are wanting to continue using solid bags I wouldn't want to go under 3lb tc I have daiwa crosscasts I think they are a nice all rounder, I also think before you go chucking loads of money at rods, just try a different rig material. You may find your rods aren't an issue.
  24. You must be thinking about voting Reform party then lol.
