  1. see this is what i mean, pendulum?????i think i may have seen them supporting iron maiden i know what you mean about the festivals, back when i young and couldnt afford to go, it was like losing a limb not being there...now i couldnt give two...its just not rock n roll. i guess thats what the 90s are to blame for .....merging of genres all into pop
  2. theyre they best gigs i know iv seen more bands then i can remember
  3. Wait and bleed, best song they ever done! the thing thought with slip knot was they were just napalm death wana bees so here is the best death metal song in the world ever
  4. only the first album. i never got into them, but i was impressed with how they managed to get their t-shirts into the fashion markets. mums were buying them for kids thinking it was a brand and not a metal band
  5. iv always thought each hook link set up as its own mechanics, learning these then helps to decide which set up to use in each situation, the situation needs a different understanding(watercraft) now i dont think its possible to have total watercraft understanding as each sess is a learning sess. but rig mechanics are basics. like times table, you learn it ,then when needed its there ,without having to relearn it. so even though thought goes into choosing, your not actually working out the mechanics(unless its a new set up to you)your trying to work out the best thing for your situation
  6. its not such a silly question ,when its probably very commonly asked. but i cant help you for that area. but dont get into the numbers game, it takes the fun out of it
  7. google Bob Nudd. he's fished it loads . i dont know much about it ,apart where it is and the are 6 lakes.
  8. the stretch is massive, the are no locks from whilton all the way to blisworth and includes the gayton junction to the northhampton arm. so the is plenty of water for them to hide, but the have been some big carp out over the years. good thing about canals unlike rivers is the tow path, get on a push bike and do some scouting or the winding hole at whilton for a quick starter.
  9. you lost your glasses zam??? kyston stuffs good as well as the sufix.
  10. whats this then??? a weighted bottom bait???

    Strong Hooks

he plays them like a girl though, for ages another vote for arma points from me, though id probably never even tried them if i could still get carp r us hooks from my local
  12. i dont know the numbers ,but do know that the were a few in there and since theyve taken it over have stocked a few more. some originals are stunners. if your just after a few runs though mallard has a yearly ticket for £100, also includes coot or swan(cant remember which one). have you been on the stanny site?? (few pics of kissy stock).get on their forum, as a few lads on there that could tell you more. but to be honest, two trips isnt really going to tell you much about the place......is it
  13. i set mine up so i can take the hook link off.i just do an over hand knot, then pull it down on an old dart, to keep some curve in the loop. i havent add a problem with the knot so far.though on normal rigs id only ever use that on the bait loop. and then i would add putty, but dont think i will from now on
  14. thats a quailty idea nige! better then putty over the swievel, which can lay it on its side.thumbs up
  15. NICE? pale 70lbers arent for me, thanks.
  16. also a lighter lead will reduce the effect youve mention of the lead bouncing.... short hook lenghts and heavy leads can cause droped runs and mouth damage.
  17. an out turned eye is best when using stiff rigs, keeps the gap open better. size wise, i d go to a 4, so you got a could chance of getting it away or out of weed bed,6 would be as low as id go. im using fox arma at the mo ,i think theyre called the SR their out turned version, though most companies do them, some called them chod hooks, but as long as it turns out its fine, you can tweak the shank of hook to get the effect if stuck, but id wouldnt want to risk it.
  18. use the same as you would on any other lead set up,all the different hook link materials are more for blending in with lake bottoms and rig machanics rather then lead set ups.
  19. @nick if using a running lead set up with slack lines with a straight rig, either with a bag on braid or stiff rig style, surely the resricted movement that you describe doesnt come into effect????only on semi fixed leads??
  20. they used to feed the fish they stocked in mallard on their own boilies, they sell them in the shop, caramel crunch. not sure if they still feed them, but when they did....that was the bait to use. as to where to find them start with where the wind is going, though the shallows along the far bank are good when its hot. not been for a few years now though so dont know how it fishes these days
  21. have a look on youtube, loads on there, some no very usefull, but stick with it, you will find at least one that helps http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+tie+carp+rigs&aq=f
  22. i can get mine reasonably tight, but i tread the floss through about half inch or so on one side , then as it tightens ,it bunches the mesh together making it even tighter.
  23. Could the ring cut into the hooklink as it tightened? im not sure that the ring could, but the line could damage the knot........only if the was enough pressure on it ....which i think is unlikley as its only the pressure of sucking/blowing and not playing the fish on the ring/loop
  24. iv had this i found bigger hooks work better.on the occasion that iv been stuck on the bank without ,iv trapped the D tag under the last loop at the eye of the hook as i tighten down the knotless knot....if that makes sense landed up to 24lb like that.its not the most perfect looking D loop ,but works.
