  1. get as much light as you can on the subjects your photographing, get them in focus aswell as a few arent try a dark line or run a black marker pen along it so it shows up, then slow down the slides so you can have a better look at what your trying to explain

    maggots

lets hear what your gut instinct is first
  3. i had 1 on a zig, about the same time slim reeled his rods in at the roman end at least 3 came out on the saturday morning and 1 came out on the monday morning just up from the swim you were in slim.
  4. mantis, its pretty much the same as snakebite but in a gravel colour. use a black marker pen on the snakebite for silt, or to break up the line. but i think green is acceptable on any bottom,as it could just be a bit of weed
  5. only twice, a few years ago, blanked its always been rammed so iv gone on kingfisher , only fished that 4 times, and blanked one sess on sand martin and blanked its only when they opened mallard i caught a fish
  6. yer i forgot to name it http://www.bluebell-lakes.co.uk/
  7. talking of eels ,a mate caught a 4lb eel at kingfisher a few weeks back. thats a day ticket carl and just about in northamtonshire a bit pricey but the fish make up for that.
  8. im not to sure on the lack of bait theory, if its singles the fish has to decide to take it or leave it, if it spooks while taking it, then is that not a rig problem the extra pressure is something where id expect singles to work better than heavy baiting, the is a story i heard about kingfisher lake. the fish were coming out less and less, boats the were the norm and lots of bait was going in, the fish were puting on weight but they not getting caught. then the buzz spread around about how well zigs and singles were pulling out the lumps and this started to become the norm, untill the weights started dropping. tony started getting a little edgy and it was talked about banning zigs. but he didnt and from what i see on my last visit the bait is going in again, only more of a spread then tight.
  9. im not a member, dont need to be when the better lake is day ticket. iv only fished it once so dont know much about how well it fishes. slim, hopefully carl will take the entrance at the roundabout to stanwick lakes and not at the layby like i did when i first visited. so your eel should be free from extra pressure
  10. have a look here http://www.stanwicklakesfisheries.com/
  11. the info on lakes local to me is wrong, i think its a trick to get people to post threads
  12. not sure, maybe a heavier lead, your strike could be something to look at, over that distance you have a lot of line to pick first, (unless your on braid)do reel down to the fish? or pick rod up and strike??not that you need to strike with bolt rigs.
  13. a few questions how far out are you fishing? what lead set up are you using? what size lead? are you fishing tight or slack lining?
  14. bonjour its a bit french mate, and iv used all my french vocabulary already. (well all the words that dont get you banned on here )
  15. ok mate you ever fished it? and is it weedy do ya know? edited for text talk again yes iv fished it,its got weed(like every lake)just depends on the time of year as to how much. when i went i fished the north bank on the shallows and the weed covered most of it, but the were loads and i mean loads of carp in it, wade your bait out to a clear spot or cast it right into the stuff, both worked for me.
  16. you should of used a full stop then
  17. may have made a bit a sense if you didnt write "english" the first time people in glass houses
  18. the fish follow the wind, get a bag of caramel crunch boilies from the on site shop, the fish get feed them
  19. yer that why danny says to check the hook on underwater 1-1000 cause he knows that 50% need binning before using, he is a quality mind washing machine , i admit i bought loads of korda products after watching the first dvd
  20. do you mean rutland water?? 3100 acres ,25 mile walk around .loads of trout and pike, you be best off hiring a boat and searching out the carp first , save a few hours maybe months looking for them

the best as already been mentioned
  22. Ooooooooooo handbags. i just like to say i know people who have fished for years and beginners and some begginers have a better idea of what theyre doing and watercraft skills then the the oldies wearing the t-shirt you cant teach an old dog and all that . so it dont matter what youve done, it matters what you do
  23. if youve read the old threads then you know all i know, the only new info iv got on LB1 is a lad from march and his mate are thinking off fishing it,i think his name is ashley it was the effort that place just gotta watch out for pikies wanting your gear
  24. nick iv been thinking some more about what happen, and the clips. what hook link was it cause a think the maybe a small chance that a stiff link may be able to lift out,(only if the sleeve slipped down), i cant get my head round this happening on a combi if the last inch or so is soft, and same if its mono or limp braid and not to sure on coated braid, depending on the stiffness. but is still needs something to push the other end or hold it still while the link pushes back and it would need the number one rule to be broken for playing a fish and thats to not keep the line tight , but as you said about the snags , then if its given slack it could maybe of caused this bizarre incident the jury is still out
