i was wondering if the bolt rig was named the bolt rig because it originally used a bolt ,im sure iv read this or been told it . but i read alot nowadays that makes me think its to do with bolting off but all fish do this on all rigs so which is it ? as a bolt tied on the line is the original death rig ,isnt it ??

its good for soft silt and weed if you set it to lenght and its also good for distance without tangles and with a slightly different bead set up and shorter hooklink you can use the chod rig

the lead goes on the end of leadcore and your hooklink is fixed to the swivel which slides along the leadcore inbetween two beads the the loop end of leadcore is attached loop to loop to mainline. the swivel should hit the bead on a take to give the bolt effect and if any snappage happens only the hooklink will trail they are safe depending on how well the loop is made on the leadcore hope all that makes sense

use light braid for the hair and trap it on with a bit of shrink tube on shank/bend. when this is wet it slides i did this when i was using 25lb IQ . i tied a knotless knot but ended up cutting of IQ hair and addind a supple hair ;)

pva will reduce your cast but is good for getting bait around the hookbait but you can do this without using pva the method feeder works well for this but if distance is what your after and dont have the kit,singles are the best

iv just started useing CARP R US short shank nailers in a size 8 and crush the barb this have more of in turned eye and do the job better than any thing else iv tried.

top tip and for IQ

is si on about the 360 rig?????iv seen carp r us sell the bits to make these but not withy pool in my oppinion the withy pool woundnt work that well but the 360 should never fail

its just a long curved bit of shrink tube it makes a G shape when finished if the shank is laying flat and point is above shank then the line is about an inch above point of hook these are destructions and not really instructions :D

steam is better than spit with fluorocarbon but i still find the knots to sit slack...just leave a longer tag and then melt it with a lighter...it will never come undone,just tighten while playing a fish.

has any put a pop up on the end or 3 or 4 and made it stand up and caught??????? thats what i want to know as i cant get my head around how well it hooks em i like the idea of trying this instead of a short zig

try this take a rig with no bait on and place it across the palm of left hand the hook should be near thumb then hold then other end in your right then slowly lift your left hand up see how many out of 10 hook your hand then put your bait on and do it again now if you do this with tubing on the rig you will see why it works better but stiff hooklinks work just as well as the line angliner

is that bent the wrong way?? i bend mine over the point to make a curve longshank shape :confused:

thats the bit that would worry me the hook is the bit i want the fish to pick up so less on it the better i use fake baits a lot with pva bag to increase the chance of hooking a fish but il used at some point as its got potential

id never heard of it, but now i think it may be worth a go if fishing in soft silt, you could build the baits up till 1 sat like a single?????? cheers:D

fluorocarbon ....... i find it snaps to easily when playing a fish in weed or near snags hybrid is the best iv used yet, just dont beleive the breaking stains 20lb snaps at 16lb

another thing is does and can be the differance between a run or not is it helps to turn the hook,the lenght of tube needs to be longer the bigger the hook . this lifts the hook using the bottom lip as a lever and lets the hook point take hold more effectivly however i recently got some hybrid and dont need tubing to have these effects which makes the rig lighter and harder to see

but you cant easyly change the hook which is what occido was asking its just like a loop 2 loop but 1 loop is the eye of the hook

i dont understand what your after id use baits that work on the water im fishing and the same with sizes and then match the hook to the bait , i never used more than 1 of each(bottom pop up) to make a snowman but like adam said a bigger hook would seem the way to go but its down to how much you want to use this rig??? then just keep trying different things till it works which may not work next time but that all the fun of fishing the chase and pitting your wits againts the carp if i caught big fish every cast i get bored i think and start playing golf and chase perfection
