  1. cant remember either google it ,they got a site and some 30+s
  2. id say the hook shape doesnt matter really ,get down a tackle down and have a look.then add shrink tube if needed but do think mvodkas on the right road . a long hair about 2-3 inches with about size 10 or 8 so the hook can lay flat ,and if it doesnt the hook shouldnt stand out

    bolt rig

i hope once im dead someone reconises my genius ,untill then il have to be that mad man

    bolt rig

i totallay disagree about it making the carp bolt . does a carp run on a run rig then instead of bolt.......NO, its the lead thats free running . the bolt is called bolt rig , if used with a heavy lead ,which its meant to be . its bolted to the deck ..hence its called a bolt rig
  5. what the question ,if adding to the rig is the answer ? im sure if more time was added to the sitution then all may come good but this is when things are added ,( unnecessary i think ) as time is the one thing most anglers dont have ,and need a fish more than the time on the bank. so the mind wonders ,and next thing you know your complicating things in hope of speeding thing up ,being differant or just trying something new but saying a rig wont work is as bold a statement as saying a rig will catch, if you take "time " out the equation
  6. i hate all lead clips it just does work for me , i lose the lead evey cast as i naturally feather the cast down. then the theory behind it (bolted to the deck ) to me a sharp(er) hook would be the answer before i bolt rig and id need to lose a lot of fish in one sess before changing lead set up but i question my self ,sometimes too much .but it helps to keep it safe and simply
  7. i agree the beads are not safe ,on that leader . but the original post only asks about the leader . and untill i said about the beads no one had and thats the unsafe part ........just implying korda are unsafe i was under the impression that korda had the heli/chod rigs recalled the dumb part is marketing ready to go rigs at the norvice which are complicated rigs
  8. im yet to read in black n white what the "safe zone " means but i took as scale friendly not "not a death rig" if you know what i mean the leader is smooth like a bead of silicon not like leadcore which dont take much rubbing to do damage if it turns out im wrong then il boycott korda as they should know better but i feel this is more just the bandwagon rolling by
  9. i fail to see how because its korda its unsafe any company in the wrong hands could be deadly , the heli/chod because of the beads is dodgy but the leader its self is fine i dont use a run ring i just use the swivel on lead (running lead),and its never gets trap on ,if anything after a run it sits above the leader on the knot the tungsten isnt as bad as some iv seen which is the lead inner wrap and glued on ,which has an end ,which i know is soft lead but could damage a fish if not flush and sticking out .........or even snagg the lead on iv looked at the beads and i think its because they are too hard that they have proplems ,and when it gets colder they will be worse ...........but the user is in the end responsilbe for the safety of the fish and SHOULD NOT be using a rig they not 100% sure of , simply as
  10. sometimes or most of the time, carp are stationary over the bait and just mouth it ,suck it in and blow it out ( feel it like we would with our hands ) a hooked bait works if when the fish moves off with a closed mouth,or you strike so for most bottom bait fishing a hair works better as the hook can still work if bait is ejected ( blown out ) and its hard to hook an air dried boilie
  11. i know its not all i meant was scrap that idea , keep it simple and use a run rig long soft limp link ,then to get the bait more natural use a bouyant bait and counter the weight of the hook
  12. sounds like you want a running lead with balanced pop up try a search for tying rigs or check the stickys ,theres loads of pics
  13. do mean like chod/helicopter rigs or more like piking and float at top ???
  14. it works out loads cheaper over all
  15. iv seen bungee swivels links to do the same job . but thinks its not needed if you can set a clutch and play a fish
  16. do you still add the carrot
  17. mantis ,snakebite reveal but the worst is hybrid ,but i guess the fluorocarbon inpregnates its more but i tested them dry over the edge of a table so maybe unfair test fox reveal is good but the coating to thick and the inners white the drennan iv had in my box for a while but recently dug it out and added a lenght of shrink tube to the loop end to act as a boom to stop the lead tangling and its doing the job a simplefied combi rig really but the loop is supple
  18. the best iv used is drennan super specialist sinkbraid and i find that coated braids when stripped still feel stiff .
  19. 1st that dependant on the size of hook and size of boilie the proberbly is a ratio for this but i dont know it:D 2nd the lenght of rig you mean???? then this depends on person prefrence mainly the averange lenght is 9" nowadays but used to be about 12" but some like em as short as 3" or a 1" 3rd do you mean the loop slides and becomes just a knott i do a over hand loop which before its tighten looks like a figure of eight 4th whats the braid for ?
  20. may be try a bead like on a helicopter or chod rig......if you know want i mean instead of a 2nd swivel use a bead traped on line....this will give a bolt effect but also release if snag or snapped up ...does that make sense ????
  21. beanz

    how long

it depends on the sharpness of the hook ,but i normally tie fresh ones for each session now but have used old 1s as well depends how skint i am but they dont have use by times just hooking ablities the sharper the better.
  22. using a run rig makes it easy if it deeper than the lenght of the rod and means you can change depth just by slacking or tightening the line
  23. yes thats true ,but then it could be moved when setting hangers and staighten out or what i used to find......its knotted:D coated braid sorted my prob out;)
  24. yer hybrid is better than IQ but just because its more versatile
