Only when I moved at sunrise πŸ˜… 5 mins in the right spot,I knew I could sit there and blank or move and try and literally 5 mins after moving, I hooked into a 21lb near fully beaut taken from under a rod length out cos of a 9ft wall of weed across the lake πŸ‘ It caused a bit of a kerfuffle though think the chance for more may have gone now, Edit hang on there're was more fizzing might be yet come on the carp

Plenty more fizzing, but nothing else to report other than it was tough to pull myself away, there is nothing quite like watching carp sheeting up over your spot, it was like a jacuzzi at points, got something to work on now though 😁

  4. I'd like to think that it won't take too long for the EU to notice an enormous reduction in income from UK holiday makers, sure a small minority are straight back on it but the amount of adverts tells it's own tale. They say the customer is always right so I expect them to crack first and lessen restrictions. As for UK syndicates the problem started way before Brexit - far more carp anglers these days and the great videos we all enjoy just highlight all the waters that proper carp anglers have been wanting to fish for years, now known to every-man and his dog - I spoke to a guy on Swan, Bluebell who only started fishing that year after watching the vids, wrong on all levels, whilst I was polite I was shocked, stunned, horrified.

  5. Brexit doesn't seem to be going too well, it's quite a sad realisation when you put it like that, people have tried to go out and and start something good, and it's just going to become impossible now we are out the EU, covid made it hard but brexit will kill it I think, and it'll be impossible to ever join another syndicate again 😒 Pre brexit I thought I would get my name down on the woolpack cos it's just up the road from me,but I never did don't think I'll ever get on there now 😒

  6. Thanks, I think I must be learning something as I probably would've sat it out and hoped before, I had spent all night kicking myself tbh because I chose to go against what I saw, in favour of a going swim which had done a couple of bites at the weekend 😳

    taking bait accross?

No idea but you can have orders delivered from UK companies OR European ones. Sticky deliver to Italy I've seen it arrive

  9. I have a pal that uses the TX4 and he rates them, but tbh I think either are a step sideways for you. If I were you I'd save up few months and get a genuine upgrade.

Got some new bait today 20kg of a new test bait from Retrobaits, I had a chat with Nick Burrage and quite fancied trying this one, it's caught some nice fish already and should work well for my autumn campaign, got it in big dumbells, to match my big pellets which are nearly bream proof πŸ˜…πŸ˜ Not quite sure it will all go in the freezer yet πŸ˜‚

    Short session food?

I've lost a few lbs recently thanks to the puppy walking, maybe I should try a wholemeal pitta again and try a lose a few more 😁

  12. Porridge for breakfast in the winter, with goat's milk for me, done and eaten straight from the pan, but topped with a dessert spoon of soft brown sugarπŸ˜‰ Add a coffee from the Bialetti and I'm happy

  14. I've just spooled my reels with this and at first impressions it does seem good, very supple and went onto the spools perfect, will be giving it a proper test next week.

  15. There is 'BUT' to this though. Just because you copy or do what 'Big Name' anglers do, it does not make you a better angler yourself. Following fashion; rigs, tackle even the methods they fish will not necessarily increase your captures. You still need to find fish, and then get your bait and feeding right and your rig in the right place. Sadly some who are in the limelight could well be time bandits, or pulling strokes to get results. That definitely does not make them better anglers. That is the point of 'at any cost'. Something I think is that every angler goes through a period of doldrums, not catching. It is the better anglers who can deal with it and get through to good times again. The 'not so good' will just give in and follow fashion without thinking. They blame the rig, the bait, never themselves or the simple fact the fish aren't interested. I bring this up for a reason. Currently on my water 'the originals' aren't showing or being caught. The only fish being caught are stock fish from the past few years. It looks like after spawning together they have gone their separate ways. The stock fish in fishable areas, where bait is going in, the originals hiding in the thick weedy unfishable areas. The stock fish relying on bait, the originals on natural good.

Well since the glorious 16th iv had the marker rod out over the dock most early evenings after work found some clean spots but the weed is growing like Japanese knot weed on steroids. Here’s some pics from both ends
