A mate I fish with counts his wraps back & forth is 1 wrap , we always have to check which one we are talking about when chatting about spots lol . Nige , years ago on a c.com social moved Andy's sticks a bit wider ..... very puzzled look as his sent his rig into the island ๐ Did you hit a caravan muft ? ๐3 points -
Just before Xmas I went up to my dads caravan at carlton meres. Got talking to his mate who fishes the lake regularly and he told me there was a nice spot a couple of rod lengths off the big willow on the far magin. 14.5 wraps he said. I had a proper blond moment and somehow told myself that back and forth was one wrap. You can imagine what happened when I cast out ๐ฎ3 points

Bream deflectors

If you go back onto Virginia, I found bream and tench absolutely loved particles and pellets, including pigeon conditioner, with an exception in one swim that has extreme depth changes on the causeway between Pats/Georges and Virginia. A bush to the right in front, a tree with barbed wire to the left in front and you had a gravel bar coming down from the far bank. Anywhere else if you piled in anything other than boilies you would get hit. My belief is that the depth changes stopped the bream hoovering the bottom and they weren't keen on that feature. Best way to avoid bream is stick to boilies, and if you do use pellets, only in a PVA bag on your casting out.2 points -
This! If I'm fishing a water that hold bream the pellets are first to go. Followed by particles lol. Nuts and boilies all the way for me.2 points

Sort the guttering out, repoint with 4 in 1. I wouldn't apply water repellent on until the end of summer, allow the bricks to dry out. If you stop evaporation externally, guess which side the damp comes out??? If its a solid wall highy, consider putting a mesh cavity membrane, dot n dab plasterboard to that. Good luck mate2 points

Bream deflectors

Hi guys I've taken the decision to try something out with pva and plastic baits, and I am tempted to not use boilies for a bit to see how it works, but I am also mindful I could be heading to snotsville, I've just received some banging mini 2mm pellets which smell amazing and are soft I'm hoping they firm up a bit over time but they seem like mini attraction gold, I want to add a firmer small pellet which will be a slower breakdown and that's the bags sorted, I am thinking a range of enterprises finest for my hookbaits, Now when it comes to spod mix I am thinking mixed pellets up to 11mm and particles, is there a particle bream don't like but carp love am hoping its pigeon conditioner BTW ๐ I don't mind catching a few snotties if the big girls also appear, I am also hoping to avoid catfish if possible maize and tigers are banned ๐ Thanks all in advance1 point -

my thinking was if I used a nut based bait they may not like it as much as someone else's and let me be ๐ But if a bream turns his nose up that might also mean it isn't a very good bait ๐ I can try some ideas on one rod I guess, he who dares rodders and all that1 point -

Bream eat all boilies Elmo, just not as bad as pellet/particle. Nothing can stop them tbh, but boilies are your best bet.1 point -

Do bream still eat nut based boilies or does that slow them down a bit ? I just wonder as last time I fished there was on the old fav P42 which had nuts in it, and I wonder if that was why I didn't get plagued by them?1 point -
Couple that with a quiver type indicator and itโs almost perfect as it can get lol1 point

If you are using a fixed lead (as opposed to a running rig). surely there are only two possible outcomes - a toner or a drop back, neither of which warrant a sensitive alarm. OR - and perhaps this is where I am missing the point - are you saying that the alarms are so sensitive they can detect movement of the bait even if the lead does not move?1 point -

I cast 13.5 wraps last time I was fishing and it gave me a nosebleed ๐ For sensitivity I find my soniks pretty bang on tbh of I can I turn it up to full, it registers most small movements, I think like nick said a lot of sensitivity comes down to lead set up, I think the running rig is much better if you need sensitivity especially if you can get your rod pointed at the spot you are fishing, I found the heli set up gave some weird indications, if I can I use running rigs, but I guess with inlines and bolt rigs they are hopefully helping to get more takes as soon as the bait is picked up,1 point -
Yes mate, tight lines - once you're past 60/70ish the last 5-10 yards is pinned to the deck anyway๐ Roller AND vibration on the Qi model bud. Best of both worlds.1 point

I get the bit about pike fishing. I guess my fishing style does not warrant an expensive alarm so I will stick to my cheapo Chinese alarms at around a fiver each. My best bite alarm ever is my dog. He lays and watches my rods all day long. Long before I am aware of a bite he jumps up and stares at the rod tip. If I am distracted and do not react, he starts barking.1 point -

Main lake was rife with them, and basically in any long line like from the coach company through the cut into main lake, or from coach company towards Reeds join the bream could pester you over particles. Even the big 2lb+ rudd would get onto them around lilies. There was almost a triangle in the islands end the lake of bream routes. Add the sunken island (reeds growing in shallower water) which was tench heaven, particles were a no go. Saying that, in most cases, I tended not to fish into open water, preferring to fish safely as close to features as I could, with the winter exception of fishing from the 'point' towards the open water to the right of the islands.1 point -

I can't actually remember catching a bream last time I was there tbh, I am sure they will be there though ๐๐ I did catch a tench though maybe I will add some boilies just incase I need to switch ๐ Nuts are banned unfortunately otherwise I would1 point -
Pellets are a breams first love. They eat everything and anything. To avoid bream/nuisance fish I go through boilie only route. Hookbaits being 22mm or double 18mm etc. Just particle and pellet and I'd say you will be in bream city.1 point

I thought the hubb was going to be an app turns out its a proper receiver https://www.wolfint.com/product/icon-hubb/ Apparently its got a 2000km range, I'm just popping to see the proclaimers 500 miles away, I will hear them if I get a take its fine ๐ They do look good though I think any idea on price ? Here we go again. My statement regards cosmetics not being important to me was not directed at you, I was merely pointing out that functionality is what counts (to me). How you've managed to turn that into a catalyst to sling mud is beyond me. So I guess we're now looking at a race against time to see how many people you can alienate before you get banned. Same as last time you joined, and the time before that, and the time before that...........1 point
