    Stalking or static?

Putting the bait basically on the fishes nose is stalking for me. find a fish on the surface, cast a bit of bread flake floater or w/e just past the fish then retrieve it back slowly until in range of the fish then hopefully it will nail it lol.

  3. You'd struggle big time imo mate, not good for distance. I once did a France trip with 30 odd kg and my spot was 100+. Baited with the stick all week, absolutely destroyed me. I pulled my shoulder, blistered my hands, all sorts😫 I remember the shoulder got better weeks and weeks later and just as I thought it was sorted I climbed a tree on a local pit and pulled it again lol.

    Stalking or static?

You stalk your prey if you can't see your prey how can you stalk it ? Its all fishing and as long your enjoying what you do then it doesn't really matter

  9. I will prevent other fish taking my bait when I'm stalking ,so not to ruin any chance of the one I want , if I can't do that , then I'm not stalking . Like I said in my earlier post I have to be able to see the fish for me to call it stalking. But that's just me everyone's different. πŸ˜‰

  11. The guys that own the local tackle shop built a propane powered cannon, and it fired an 18L pail of groundbait 100 yds in just a few shots. As far as I know, they only used it once though.

  20. Dunno @oscsha, stick is good for up to 120 max imo, no good at 120+.

  21. I wouldn't mind seeing a decent device for applying boilies at 120+ yards without dumping them in a tight clump

    Stalking or static?

Personally.... if I say I've stalked a fish, the first criteria has to be that you've spotted it & singled it out for capture. And actually see it take your bait. If you apply it to other hunting field's there is a difference between a stalker & a trapper

    Losing the buzz

I had the same feelings about 5 years ago resulted in me selling up and it was the worst thing ive ever done about 6 months after selling alls I could think about was getting back out on the bank so I had to go out and buy all my stuff again cost me a hell of a lot more than I sold my stuff for if you have those feelings have a few months away and im sure your love of fishing will return

  27. The helicopter lead set up will travel the furthest & is pretty bullet proof for presentation so might be worth a look for you . But like Nick mentions stopping that line & kicking it all out just before it hits the water & feeling the lead down, should see a pendant set up fishing fine no matter what range . Try reeling in slower & smoother as it could be just tangling on the way in if the rods bouncing around a lot .

    Lake Beauregard............

If its coming via a courier thats a lot of trust in the courier , if your collecting then shouldn't be an issue . Looking to do a French trip in a few years can't wait .

Agree, BAF do really good gear. I also agree that it's a labour of love. Once you've factored in the cost of your time it's not that much cheaper than some of the decent off-the-shelf baits nowadays imo.
